Our New 2018 Jeep Wrangler JLU Rubicon Finally Gets a Winch & More!

Although we never quite got the opportunity to install a winch on our original JLU Rubicon, we made sure to make it our #1 priority with the new one!
Please note - The 2.5" Rough Country lift and the 37" MTR/Ks were swapped from the old Jeep to the new one prior to our taking official ownership of it!
In this video we installed a new Barricade 9500lb Winch with synthetic rope, courtesy of Extreme Terrain, using a Rusty's Winch Mount as a base. We've also got a set of the Barricade Adventure Mirrors (which we'll pop on as soon as the opportunity arises to go doorless). The CupHolderHero kit was also an awesome aesthetic touch for the interior of the Rubicon!

Used the Rusty’s plate as well, and greatly appreciate it was one piece. And, I’ve got to mention the service Rusty’s (and Rusty himself) provided. Rarely been more pleased with a purchase. Of course, I enjoy the videos and love the JL!

Wayalife did a video on putting the 37" tire on the back...they did some fab work to keep tension on the tire so it's not jouncing around over bumps. The video includes a step by step of how they did it. May be worth checking out. Jeep looks amazing you guys and the Vette is FIRE!!!!

Wow you guys made that look easy. I was going to have mine installed but after watching this I might just give it a shot. I'll bet the Vette was an impulse purchase lol. When I bought my Viper I just walked in looking at truck and drove it home. My wife says "I thought you were buying a truck".

Hell yeah, Z06's are awesome, love black on white too. I'd love a C7 GTLM race version........lol. The winch plate looks like a great chassis rail end plate to help with strength too, def help with chassis flex off-road.

Really enjoying your videos! Informative, well spoken, relevant information. Nice work. If I could make one small suggestion, it would be to invest in a wireless mic. It makes a world of difference to be able to hear someone on camera when they are standing at a distance and also makes the video appear more professional. Keep up the great work!

Hey Brittany, have you had a chance to use the U-Connect Stereo much? 10:54 Have you uploaded any APPs into the stereo? I am curious to know if the MAGELLAN TRX COMPANION APP can be uploaded into the stereo; and, then, does the app work? Getting ready to finally get my own JLU. All my goals have been met. Time to enjoy. Want to know if the onboard nav is worth getting. Most youtubers don't show their onboard nav and when they do, it's either OFF, or shows a little triangle in a big green field, with absolutely no data; meaning, the onboard nav is worthless; when, offroad. If the Magellan App works in the stereo, that's freakin GAME CHANGING

You'll get sick of that vette quick. I got sick of mine pretty quick. The jeep is way more fun. The vette gets attention for all the wrong reasons and is one-dimensional. I like the JL. I might get one. I had a JK and traded it for the vette (big mistake).

Love your videos. Just got my 2019 Rubicon with the factory steal bumper option. QUESTION I want the same winch set up you have, but can not find the winch mounting bracket at Rusty's I know its a long shot BUT do you have the part number for Rusty's mounting brackets. kam far Due to its low clearance and not having low range, we don't really take it offroading. We use it mostly as our main Tow vehicle and as an awesome daily (being a TDI, it's our only vehicle that get phenomenal fuel economy).

The core is magnesium but those exterior plates are Aluminum and have been known to crumple with a bit of stress. Pretty sure they're not rated for anything larger than 35"s.

Brian B Because we don't have money. Lol We own too many cars to have money. 🤣🤣 Also, people talked smack about the Smitty Built winch on our FJ80, but it lifted that fat ass out a plenty of sketchy situations with zero issues. More money doesn't always mean better. Sometimes, but not always. 😁

Brian B Road noise isn't bad when they're new, obviously as you tear them up it gets louder. But honestly, we wish we would've stuck with the STT Pros. Best all-around favorite tire we've had so far.
