Thank you for watching the video and taking the time to comment. My wife and I spent 4 days in Eastern Tennessee and drove through the Smokies trailering a boat behind the RV. I am working on the video and will hopefully have it up soon. It will show me launching and recovering the boat up and down the ramp.

I just purchased a Gemini 24tb And have several major issues. Hot water heater did not work, generator only worked occasionally - if at all...sometimes. Vehicle Alternator does not recharge house battery - solar is useless. To recharge house battery you have to be hooked up to shore power. if you can get it to start it will recharge shore battery. the internal AC and USB ports did not work. Engine and performance were fantastic - plenty of power at low and high speeds. Overall extremely comfortable with exception on electrical and hot water issues.

With a compass or gemini, you have to invest in a full victor 660ah or 990ah with inverter 3000w (2400 continue), soft start a/c, 2 x mppt controller with 400 w on the roof and 400w portable. Such install cost 18000$ US. For a little more i would remove the generator (too noisy and source of pain) with a dual alternator and an dc-dc Charger victron Orion 700w.

Thank you very much for watching and commenting. We also have a video on our thoughts about the RV after some use. Some issues we had are the dead bolt lock on the camper door wasn't working appropriately, we found a sleeve in side the lock latch was broke and the latch would just spin. Second issue we are having now is a slide motor started malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. Again, thank you for watching and commenting.

I've got a few questions while I compare/contrast motorhomes: How's the wi-fi service when you're in an area where cell service is almost non-existant? What made you choose this floor plan over the 23TR/TE or another comparable model? If you've got the solar power option, is it worth having? I feel one of the best selling points about the gas and small diesel powered class C RVs are they can be serviced at a regular car/truck dealership.

Hello Robert, thank you for watching and commenting, to be honest I wanted to get a Mercedes Sprinter Class B since it was at the time the only all wheel drive my wife and I were aware of. I had only three requisites the vehicle had to have... first it had to tow my Ranger fishing boat, second it had to have all wheel drive for those times when I would need it on a slippery boat ramp, and thirdly it had to be small enough to maneuver around a boat dock launching and recovering the boat. A van would be the perfect vehicle, however, my wife didn't like any of the vans we saw at the dealer. When the dealer showed us the 24KB and it being all wheel drive as well as having a 5000# capacity, it checked all the boxes and after some careful consideration we traded our new 1 year old Palomino SS550 Backpack Pickup camper in for this. It's a huge upgrade from our first RV. We looked at the 23 and didn't like the murphy bed set up as it really didn't appeal to us also it seemed the back of the camper was taken up by a rather large bathroom that we really weren't going to be using (just thinking of the smell from us doing our business permeating through the camper) so having a larger sleeping area seemed to fit us a little more. As far as the WiFi it requires a simcard from a cell carrier, we don't have that installed, we've been using our smartphones for that and a DVD player for the TVs. The Televisions aren't bad as they can pick up pretty much all the local channels in the few places were were at, but for the most part we were usually outside either in the boat or sitting around the campfire. As far as the solar panel goes, there's something that looks like a solar panel on the roof but in the command center there's no icon in the power tab that has anything to do with solar power. so I am assuming I don't have it. This is kind of long winded but the camper is a monster upgrade over what we previously had. I doesn't have the refinement of a Mercedes but then again, a decked out Sprinter may set you back 200K, this one was just under 150K and as said before it does everything I want it to do and then some. So, in that regard I am extremely happy with it and have zero regrets buying it. Again, thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Have a wonderful day.

I'll take a dinette any day over setting up and tearing down that table EVERY time you open or close the side. Just silly to me.
@rg22outdooradventures88
@rg22outdooradventures88 2 года назад
Like anything there are pluses and minuses. I'm sure with a few tries the table can be taken up and down relatively quickly. As of now we do the majority of our cooking over a campfire. My wife and i got started on a pick up bed tent, then a Palomino ss550 backpack pickup bed camper, and now this one. This camper ticked all my boxes, all wheeldrive, small enough to tow, launch, and recover a boat. The other creature comforts it comes with are an added bonus. So, considering what I started out with its a huge step up. Thank you very much for watching and commenting.

It's something that can be done, but I also have a full time job that would prohibit that. It's also a bit small for two people to live in full-time. I would think something a bit larger would make more sense. But as I've said in this video and my latest one when we were in TN, it did everything we asked of it and it did it well. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.

What kind of fuel economy do you get with the 3.5 ecoboost? I’m familiar with the 3.0 diesel class B and am thinking about getting a new one with the gas engine.
@rg22outdooradventures88
@rg22outdooradventures88 Год назад
Hello and thanks for watching and commenting. In regards to the fuel economy, trailering my boat I would say it's comparable to my F250 with the 6.2L. Otherwise, I think around 12 plus or minus. It hasn't been on the road since October. When we get it on the road this year I can be more accurate. But as you know fuel economy is also based on how you drive the vehicle.

What is the dimension/measurement of the sofa? Will a 5'2" adult be able to sleep there? Or only for a kid?
@rg22outdooradventures88

I'm 5'8 and I have to lay at an angle. So I think a 5'2" adult would fit. I think any taller and it wouldn't be very comfortable. But I think it is primarily for the kids. Just my thought.

Thank you for the review. Have you used the rv enough to comment on any problems that you have had?
@rg22outdooradventures88
@rg22outdooradventures88 2 года назад
Hello, thank you for watching the video and taking the time to comment. My wife and I just got back from the Great Smoky Mountains on a camping and fishing trip towing my 18.8' Ranger behind it. We logged over 1200 miles with it on the interstates and on some of the mountain roads going up and over the passes between Tennessee and North Carolina. I can't say enough good things about the vehicle. It did everything I expected of it. I had no issues towing my boat on the interstate, in-fact, I had no idea at times there was a boat being towed behind it. Yes, it has that much power. I was able to maneuver in tight spaces with the boat either parking it or launching and recovering the boat on a steep ramp (this is why I wanted all wheel drive). So, for me the camper did everything it was supposed to do. As for amenities, it depends what you want. I think if you are looking for something that is in the lap of luxury, I don't think this camper is for you, however, if you want something that you can live in comfortably have the feel of a van and the space of a class C motorhome then this may check off all your boxes. We towed the boat up the mountain passes in relative comfort, it handled the towing with out issues and had enough power. There was only one issue we had with the camper over the whole 1200+ miles we put on it this week and that is we experienced an engine misfire where we had no power moving forward or in reverse and our check engine light was on as well. We gave it some time and eventually the truck started and we were had full power and decided to take a risk and continue on our way. After that we had no further problems, check engine light still on, but no sign of a misfire or sputtering, despite us going up and down another mountain pass with the boat. This morning the check engine light was off and we were traveling from Cleveland Tennessee back to Ohio with no problems, in-fact the camper drove with out any issues whatsoever. So, in closing, after a total of 2000+ miles on it this far I am very pleased with how the camper had preformed and providing us the ease and comfort we have expected. I hope this long winded explanation helped. Again, thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Watch for the video we will be putting up on this trip in the very near future.

Hello again, so far no electrical issues except for the one I mentioned on the truck. No electrical gremlins on the camper side. The slide did bind once but that was because of user error(not on level ground), once it was level all was right with the world. No water leaks so far. The camper does have its rattles but from what I've seen it's been when driving.

@rg22outdooradventures88
@rg22outdooradventures88 Год назад
Hello, thank you for watching and commenting. Yes, sir, we drove it through the mountains. The camper is all wheel drive, and it handled quite well. However, it didn't handle like an R8. But it handled the curves nicely. It also did well towing the boat. The only gripe I had with it was when I got to the top of the pass, we took some time and looked around. When we started it unit was in a limp mode, but soon after, it ran without any problems the rest of the time down the mountain as well as from Cherokee, NC to Northern OH. All in all I am very happy with the camper.

@rg22outdooradventures88
@rg22outdooradventures88 Год назад
First off... thank you for taking the time to watch the video and comment. However, you are mistaken. The reefer runs on 12 volt, propane, and shore power. I know this because I have used the reefer in all three modes. The 12 volt doesn't last very long as the fridge uses quite a bit of power. It runs best on shore and propane. My first camper a Palomino ss550 backpacker also ran off of 12volt, shore, and propane. I also went through a pre-purchase in-service on the camper as well. Again, thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.
