Beautiful planner! Aaw your home school schedule sounds wonderful. I love the coffee dates with the older ones. I need to add something like that with my oldest 👍🏼🙂
Did I miss your video where you share what each of your kids are assigned to read this upcoming school year? Thanks for your videos they are super encouraging!
Such beautiful planning options. And I love that they're not the exact same as other well-loved planners. I think that shows a lot of care and authenticity. I'm soaking up schedule videos because I have a toddler and a baby on the way, so I'm feeling a little uneasy about our rhythm.
I can so related. Both of my daughters are very active in sports so we are on the go 7 days a week. I don't understand how the other families do it. We get home at 9pm some nights and I love the flexibility that they can sleep in the next day so they can get the rest they need.
Yes I say it all the time - they would not be as involved if we didn’t homeschool. They just couldn’t be. I see the stress of the schedule on some of the other girls and i know it would be us, too! So this is only possible (for our capacity as a large family) because of homeschool!
I have loved my anna vance planner the last two years. This year it wasn't in the budget but I hope next year it will be :) Loving all these videos for back to school, I have watched the last couple years and it is so encouraging to hear from a more seasoned homeschool mama. Thanks for all you put out.
I relate the hectic schedule so much! I’m still trying to figure out what to do with our schedule this year that will help us fit everything in. This was helpful! I need to find some printables to sit down and write it all out!
Thank you, that was just at the perfect time! Been gathering my supplies and waiting for my planner to arrive - at this point praying fervently as we are supposed to start in 10 days, allowing for some weeks off throughout the year. You set me on a good thinking path for our school this coming year. Thank you!
Great video! I also have a high schooler, middle schooler, and an elementary student this year. This will be our 2nd year in this realm actually, but I didn't feel like we were very successful in managing some things last year. This video gave me a few ideas. The coffee date is a great idea that I may try to implement. ❤
Beautiful planners! For our first two years of homeschool, we ran from mid-July to April, because we live in Georgia where summers can be brutal and I wanted springtime off. Now that my son is in 2nd grade and is starting to make friends in the neighborhood, he has successfully lobbied to match the public school schedule, so that's what we're doing this year. I just copied it exactly.
This is my first year trying out the Anna Vance planner. I do love it!! I really want to order her book of centuries! Thank you for all you share. I have always enjoyed your videos.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and plans. What a great idea for a coffee shop dates with the "bigs" My husband has every other Friday off, so i might implement this! ❤
Do your kids take lots of breaks in beween subjects? My 13 and 11 yr old boys in particular are itching to get outside after just 20 minutes of work and then it's really really hard to get them back inside. They dislike academics and my oldest has a very short attention span. I try to honor him needing brain breaks and time to spend on more preferred activities, but it pushes our homeschool much later in the day than I'd like. It's honestly easier to keep my 8 and 6 yr old on track! So just curious about breaks in your day. Also, how do you get your older kids up in the morning after those late nights of extracurriculars?
We don’t linger on one subject longer than about 15 minutes at that age! As far as late nights, two nights a week my oldest gets home around 9:30 and settles in for bed well before 11, the other nights aren’t as late. My boys are done by 7, thankfully!
What would you say would be your favorite Bible curriculum if you just had K-2 kiddos to teach? Has there been one that stood out for that particular age range by chance? Blessings!!
It's so nice to hear of such a busy schedule with Co Op, bible study and such. This will be our first year adding Co Op on top of our Bible study group. I've been stressing.
Do you have any videos on what your Charlotte Mason exams look like? I’m thinking of starting those this year in our homeschool but I don’t really know what that would look like.
