I am already in love with this house hunting series. You guys are explaining it so naturally and honestly. Without any filter . It is helping us to understand so many things about UK. Keep them coming.
We recently moved into our own house in Northampton just 1.11 years after shifting to UK. I think you should also provide some tips around solicitors, chains and other issues we face while finding the house.
Suggestion:- if you both work remotely and want something decent sized, why not look little up north, not necessary Yorkshire (Yorkshire is beautiful no doubt) but north of East or West Midlands? That will keep you close to Coventry as well where you have most of your friends I guess!
Good tips. Lot matches with our experience and list of requirements when house hunting in Dundee. We are also looking for atleast 3 bedroom with a living area and formal drawing room. Atleast two toilets, garage or good shed/sunroom, and a gas stove is our priority and no compromise features. Then proximity to my daughter’s school is the focal point as she’s not ready to change school. We are on SW visa so have AIP for 10% deposit but we prefer to make it 15-20% so that lending rate is affordable in the long run. Sab kuchh ek property mein mil jana almost impossible hi lag raha hai Abhi. It’s such a confusing experience 😊. Lagta hai jaldi le lein par darr bhi lagta hai ki kahin compromise to nahi kar rahe 🤗. Congratulations and best wishes for the new abode 💞
Keep it up! I believe, aap gharselect nahin karte, ghar apko chunta hai. The energy of house attracts you. I am sure you will find or already found your prefect adobe!
The older houses have charming feature and more character and have bigger fairytopia type gardens as compared to the new builds. You can spend a little to upodate the decore.
Thanks for your feedback. Yes older house might have all those, but they are not modern, need cashflow to make any renovations or extensions, not a little but sometimes it needs full kitchen and bathroom makeover which can take about £20K minimum, for some older house the community is not so great for new generations, it's less energy efficient means more bills, unlike new builds, older homes don’t provide a blank canvas to make your own. Therefore, they’re less suited to your specific tastes and many more.. so it depends on individual's requirements and preference and budget/ cashflow..
In old house you have option to extend house you can make one bedroom and bathroom downstairs. So save extra budget for extension this will add value to your property.
You are 💯 right. Never buy old /sami old house. We are 4th generation here in the Uk, my dad liked to invest in his 1970,s build house. House has been extended several times. But every time we get new problem relating to interiors. Best to buy newly built house.❤️👍
Dear Both. I simply love your videos. Very relatable stuff . Please tell me how you plan to use your finances to buy a second house. In terms of saving a deposit, what preparations have you made? It is also possible to use the equity of the first house to purchase a new house. I would appreciate if you address these details in your upcoming videos. Best of luck for your future plans .
Approach preeti Suri friend ..... Urvashi salaria. She also creates video. She is somewhere in Berkshire Wokingham. I suppose. Her house is new build . I am also from Berkshire County. New build is perfect
Give Banbury a try. There are several new built estates and most of the houses come with a garage . We moved here 2 years ago and we really love the area and do not regret our decision.
Very informative video for those who are looking to buy a house. Can you share if you are planning to sell your existing house and use that funds for the new house? Or are you planning to buy your second house in UK? If you can also explain about ‘chain’. Only if you sell your house will you be able to buy a new one? Also what about existing mortgage that is going on for the existing house. What happens to that. Thank you!
Hello Gaurav and Avi, I did inform you earlier as well that me and my wife are also looking for our first home in UK.. I saw one 4bed which I really liked, it was the show home Ransford by Taylor Wimpey in Upper Lighthorne(expensive for me though). You can check that one out. I have a question just in case you have investigated.. what should be the max mortgage amount we should be paying/ month? E.g can we start with 2k/ month if we are earning 3.5k in hand?? What should be this ratio with your experience??
Thanks mate, Upper Lighthorne is not really a great area to invest in a property… not many schools and supermarkets around.. for mortgage it should be a comfortable amount that is good with you as per your outgoings and incomings
@@HumTumInEngland I agree to what you are saying. However I suggest for you to look at the show home. Later, you can check the location e.g Coventry has a lot of Taylor wimpey sites. Rugby for me is out of budget for all 4bhk 😔
@@anantdunlocation is some times more important than the size of your house. It’s better to go for slightly smaller house if you can’t afford 4-bed house in a good area. 2k per month EMI seems like a bad idea if your income is 3.5k, as you still need to pay bills and have some savings for emergency. In my opinion limit yourself to 1.5k per month. You will have mandatory expenses above this as you need to pay for energy, council tax, home insurance and life insurance. Above this you need to pay for your living costs - groceries, transport, etc.
Hi both, thank you for sharing the details, it is very helpful. One question, are you guys thinking to keep this current house and buy new one? If yes then is there large difference in stamp duty? Thanks again for sharing your journey.
Hello thanks for watching.. we are looking at both options but yes keeping old one means you have to pay big amount for stamp duty plus the interest rates are not great right now so looking at options which you’ll see in the upcoming videos
Milton Keynes is the best place to live in the U.K…it’s very safe, neat and clean city. Very close to bicester village, Oxford, Luton, Cambridge, Stratford upon Avon and one hour 20 min drive to central London. Milton Keynes to central London by train only half an hour.
Thank you for this house hunting series. We are also looking for house, but we still don't know what to go for. You mentioned estates agents is giving you houses to see. Is that local one in your area? If we are looking for house not in the area I live which estate agent I contact?
Nice video.👍 I have a doubt regarding “First time buyer” scheme. Is it possible to avail the scheme if Wife(primary applicant) doesn’t own a house but husband owns a house in foreign country, applying for a loan using combined income?
It depends on your requirements and household income and where you want to live.. house prices are low outside London as compare to Inside obviously but depends your daily commute and requirements. Council tax mainly depends on the area and size of the property I think!
Contact Mortgage Advisors. There are many in the UK, just go to a real estate agency and ask for a mortgage advisor. Their advice is free of charge usually.
Yesterday video was an update that we are buying a new house and today’s video is the first of the series of buying a new house in Uk. You didn’t get that I think! Watch the first again 👍🏻
Hii. How are you.. I got admission in staffordshire university stoke on trent campus.. is this city ok for accommodation and job perspective if no then which other City can you recommend ?
