something i find very interesting that people tend to miss is how kabru's party does not, in any way, intend to revive the corpse retriever group. they pushed them in the lake, and considering how little parties make it down there, that is pretty much a death sentence. a permanent one. not only that, but it means their souls will be unable to move on so it's kind of a fate worse than death really :)
Fun Chilchuck facts: 1. Mickbell calling him money hungry is actually referring to him advocating against exploitation lol. He made a guild to prevent exploitation of half-foots after a party almost used him as bait. He charges a fee to check over contracts for other half-foots, to make sure they’re not being exploited too. Presumably he would be against Mickbell exploiting Kuro. He’s a union man, basically! 2. Relative to human lifespan he’s like 50. That’s a full middle aged man right there 3. Related to the above point: Ryoko Kui drew Chilchuck in the first few chapters as having gray streaks in his hair. She stopped but I still like to think he has some hidden in there 4. Chilchuck rigorously maintains his weight so that he’s light enough to not set off traps 5. Chilchuck got along best with Namari out of all the old party members, they were drinking buddies
i don't think mickbell is that much like chilchuck actually. though i think he might be a sort of foil character to chilchuck. at least in this episode, mickbell is shown to be really interested in money, and is even possibly taking financial advantage of kuro. and then he accuses chilchuck of being money hungry, which is kinda funny. chil hasn't really been shown to be greedy like that, just concerned with practical matters. and actually, i'm not sure i agree that chilchuck is that short tempered either? he certainly has his moments, but it always feels like it's caused by something in particular, like his dislike for mimics or others getting in the way of his job. but i don't get the feeling that he's an angry person in general.
In the time it took Shuro to get to the 4th floor with a party of 6, our party of 4 had already gotten to the 5th floor, slain the damn dragon, resurrected Fallin, lost Fallin AGAIN, got their butts kicked, healed up and now they're stuck there. I don’t know if Fallin even likes him back, but I don’t think he deserves her 💀
I can't say if he "deserves" her or not, but i think he is not doing too bad. He clearly is very distressed about the matter and it looks like he is not taking care of himself to advance faster to the deeper levels. He probably couldn't start his descent as fast as Laios party because he needed to regroup with his own party and then get supplies or something. He still would have been late considering the timing of recent events, but at least he is trying :)
Small reminder, this episode takes place back in time. The time frame we can reference is that Kabaru's party is implied to be the people that Mr Tansu was talking about when he said "Even the corpses we found a while back had the decency to have a revival fee ready." So our party was around the same floor at the time, theoretically.
@@platinumraven118 Yeah, mr tansu revived them before getting to our group and healing marcile, so while they were fighting the revivers, the main party was probably cooking the undine lol
@@platinumraven118 Oh dang, you’re totally right. But still, the fact that Shuro ran off to do his own thing without so much as saying a word to Falin’s closest friends, and wasn't even that much more successful in rescuing her with a much larger party just doesn't sit right with me. IMO, he should have, if not joined Laios' party, at least discussed a plan of action with them. If he had joined, he would’ve been a great help too, would've made things a lot easier for our squad.
I'm excited to see your reaction to Kabru's story, for me it took a while but now I think I like him because of his development. There are definitely a lot of layers to this character
And for once the random kiss prediction comes true 😂 I like Kabru, he's cool and a good leader, but because he's good at coming to conclusions, when he's wrong he doesn't doubt himself. He thinks Laios and Falin wouldn't be good leaders because they were doing altruistic things? So maybe I missed something or I didn't follow that logic. And yes, Rin is my favourite of this party since she's voiced by Rie Takahashi in the sub (Ai, Megumin). This is one of the few shows where I'm not a source reader yet so I'm interested in seeing what happens when this party meets up with our MCs.
I think Kabru means Laois sucks at reading people, that he is easily manipulated and unfit to be a leader Kabru saying "True nature / Mask off" is kinda neutral or a bit negative towards the siblings, but he didn't say they are a horrible person yet
Which tbh, make senses Laois is very bad at people, especially strangers The dude forgot about meeting Kabru before within 2 episodes, while Kabru can remember the details of their history
He's got one thing right about Toudens, they are detached from human society. Most people would like to have a leader who can understand their needs, and we can see that is not the case for these siblings. They are influential and certainly made a name for themselves, only for it to be used by basic scams to enable more crimes.
@@Huhu0137Kabru didn't say the sibling doesn't deserve to be the leader of a country because they are a bad person It is just that the sibling is not good with human interaction, relationship, politics, ...
