This month, we downsized our family of 9 into an RV while we renovate a fixer upper upper into our dream home! We moved the RV onto our property and are already hard at work on our reno, so we wanted to give you guys a little tour of our house for the next 6-8 months! It's not a lot of space, but we have really worked hard to turn this 2022 Grand Design Solitude into a space we can all comfortably live!

I wish you guys had shown your sleeping arrangements, like where all of you 9 fit when is night time, who sleeps in each bed etc but I really liked this RV, it is definitely the biggest one I've seen so far

Keira and Penny have the two single bunks on one side, the three boys share the bunk and full size bed on the other side. Reese has the convertible bed in the living room and Lincoln has his foldout bed in our room. ❤️

To give the kids more private area in the bunk room.. you could put some curtain panel ( short ones) on a.tension rod so they can close their bunk off it they want privacy

You’ve done such a great job organizing your space. We do quite a bit of traveling in our 30ft travel trailer during the summers. Just two adults and a 12 yr old girl. I think she takes up more space than all seven of your kiddos put together. You are all amazing.

Looks great. Amanda the one suggestion I have for you, outside get one of those waterproof outdoor storage box to put all those shoes in because you don't want the kids putting their feet into wet shoes if it has rained or snowed and they want to go outside and play.

Just an idea - put the baskets of shoes under the slide out (beside the front door) so the shoes will not get all wet when it rains. I lived in a RV long term for years growing up.... I never want to do it again lol

Your RV is amazing! It is so well organized and so homey and comfortable looking. I love all your outdoor space which I'm sure you are all taking advantage of. It seems all of you have adjusted really well living in a smaller place. What makes a home a home? It's family and being together. Size and space is not important. Absolutely beautiful! I would recommend heater tower fans for the bedrooms in the winter, we use those in our RV and it really does the trick!

I'm from Minnesota and the coldest winter we ever spent was in an RV in Nashville. Keep an eye on those propane tanks, you are going to need them.Check out some heat tape also.Tractor Supply.😼

Amanda’s new favourite word is nook! 😆 I think it will be challenging after the novelty wears off! So many people in a limited space for so long! It would be hard to get some quiet space when winter sets in. Poor Reese stuck out in the high traffic area! 😳 What happens if she wants to go to bed earlier, but others are still up for hours? The end result will be worth it though.

You are so organise Amanda to fit everything and 9 people in an RV. Hope the weather stays mild and good for you all to enjoy the space outdoors. It’s not easy to live in a small space after a big house but you all made it work. Yes only you all can manage to live 8n a RV no matter how big it is with 7 growing kids and 3 active boys esp Lincoln that runs around so much now.. great he love books to keep him in one place for a while. Hope the months fly by so you will have at least yr barn done.

I actually cried seeing the bathroom. I’ve lived in a rv with my husband for four years now. Our place is falling apart mainly because it’s a older model and we’re living in it. This rv is beautiful I couldn’t imagine having something so this nice wow🥺❤️

Wish you all the best!!! Wow 👏! Right now we are looking at apartments. We have been living in Albuquerque at Hotels for 3yrs. So we have to put and end to that. Hopefully this will work out for us as well. Keith and I have been married 35yrs and have Never had a problem getting a rental home. Now it's a different story and SS doesn't help. When you know it's going to drop down to freezing or below if you leave water trickling in a sink the water hose from the water spigot will not freeze because running water won't freeze

Your tiny RV is more Organised than my apartment. Remember kids will adapt to anything if they know their parents love them. Yes they might squabble every now and then, but they adapt to anything knowing they are loved. Ps ( after thanksgiving ) when it gets closer to Christmas do a music type video of your family‘s favourite Christmas songs. My family used to have the tradition at Christmas where my grandma played piano and accordion, and each of us had our song that we had to sing. Ie - my uncles and grandpa did we three kings, I had „away in a manger” when I was Ethan‘s age and then later the first Noel ( because of my middle name). I figure with 9 people that’s at least a half hour program.

Just a heads up be careful with Linky touching the fireplace. My toddler was very curious about the fake fireplace in our RV and he almost burnt his hands 😓. We ended up having to turn it off completely during the day when he was up and at night we would turn it back on. You should be able to shut it off where all your switches are located.

We full time and spend our winters in Ohio, not sure how often it goes below feeezing in TN, but they do make a heated hose for your water line so you never need to disconnect, then insulate around the water spigot. Also, to further hold in heat you can insulate the outside perimeter of the rv with 1inch foam board. Ours is also insulted, with an enclosed heated underbelly, but it has froze before. We also get larger propane tanks for the winter since we do use the heat. I usually turn the furnace on low overnight, then just run the electric fireplace during the day to keep the heat in. Just some tips for winter camping.

Thx for the tour .I will be here for move in day in the new 🏡 home..u may need to put insulation around the outside faucet even after u take the hose off..we are having a hard freeze tonight..it's Friday..and the temp is starting to drop ..brrr..
