Our Off-Grid Camp / Houseboat Life !! We spent a few days at our houseboat, doing what we love to do! Hope you enjoy the video! #datlouisianlife #datlouisianalife_ #lakeverret #offgrid #offgridliving #louisiana
The best thing you can do. There gonna have their friends and their phones ,but when you spend family time it don’t matter how old they get they will always want to do it
I'm glad my pawpaw had me in a boat before I was 3 I'm overe here 19 years old been running trot lines since I was 2 Sitting there in my diaper with a dip net in my hand helping pull up catfish
That’s the life right there!! Straight up.. it’s amazing to see such love and fun come from a close family. It’s a dying thing nowadays but y’all do it so well! Love your videos💯💯
I was raised a "River Rat". Anybody that "gets it" knows a river will bring you more adventure than ANY lake, including the Great Lakes that I'm surrounded by here in Michigan, BY FAR! Wildlife especially! Fishing? MORE SPECIES! A chance to get dirtier? HELL YES! I'll NEVER CHANGE. (I just found your channel, new sub.)
I was always called a "Bayou Boy". All the same to me. We all know how to enjoy rivers and bayous in our areas. Being out there on the water is like nothing else. Hard to understand it unless you live it. Thanks buddy! 🐊
@@datlouisianalife Couldn't have said it better. It starts with a river's smell. Every creature, plant, mixed with topsoil and a dead tree on the ground, all rolled up together. You add that smell that comes from backwater. Top it off with ozone from the morning dew and the first breeze of the day and THATS the meaning of being "alive". Lol, there's way more to it, but I call that "tomorrow". Be well~
Man this is nice. I need to come down and visit the neighborhood to see if everyone there would allow me to join their little piece of heaven. With my Army retirement I could live there full time. Awesome videos! Thanks for sharing!
Perfect getaway for the weekends. I love spending time on the back waters away from everything. Peter did a great job with y'all and I look forward to watching and learning from y'all. Thank you.
I can sure appreciate how you all are spending some of your time, nothing better than the outdoors and detachment from the stresses of life. Sure isn't anything wrong with having a Ms Tara on the boat either, if she has a twin... Thanks for sharing the videos and inspiring folks to get outside!
Appreciate it buddy. No twins but she got friends 🤣🤣🤣! Definitely great having someone else that enjoys the outdoors as much as me, maybe even more than me. 🐊🐊🐊
Quebec, Maine, the Maritime provinces… Acadia. Up here we are your cousins from the deportation. We live a cold northern life, similar to yours in many ways. Put us in a swamp and we’re fine, on a mountain, we’re fine, deep in the forest, we fine. Stay strong and independent family.
The thing I miss the most about living in Louisiana is the fishing. I caught more fish in a little bayou next to the road then I ever have out in a boat on big lakes . Spent lots of time catching catfish and gar.
This is the first time I've seen you. I raised my 3 boys in Sipp. We did these things but not there. I'm going to keep watching you , we'd hang out with you.
Its so nice to have a getaway like this and reset from everything, really enjoyed watching the entire camp life adventure. Love the drone shots showing the entire neighborhood too!
WHOOOOOO!!!! New video! YEAHHH!!, Man talk about missing friends, I went outside yesterday to find out why our dog wasn’t coming to the door, I cried like a baby, he was laying on the deck in his favorite spot, peaceful as could be, unfortunately he passed. Be blessed folks, maybe say a little prayer for Casino, one damn good boy.
Wow. Know what you mean. Lost our favorite dog around Christmas last year. I still think I can hear his claws clattering on the kitchen floor every once in a while. Prayers sent for Casino. Whipple
You all have what I only dream of checking out the Gators 🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊 fishing real fishing that's a great life hello from California great video family and fun times
OMG that is Beautiful where your son found those clams! Just PURE BEAUTY!!!! Man I Miss Louisiana!!!!!!!! I love the swamps and Miss it so much!!!!! I even had a Pet Gator that was given to me as a Baby Gator. My neighbor wouldn't let her son keep the baby gator because it was a $5,000 Fine for having them as Pets. So he gave it to me because I had been wanting one for so long as a Pet. Romeo was his Name. When he got too big I had to let him go. But I know he's happy swimming in the Bayou.
Love the houseboat vids. I grew up on a houseboat on the Alabama river. Btw, those clams (we called muscles in bama) are some of the best catfish bait you can have. We used to rod and reel fish with them and bait trot lines with them too.
Just found your channel, liked it so much I signed up.. I live up in PA. As a kid I played on the river, then got a place right on the river. I do miss it, but getting hitched got in the way. I can't wait to watch em all. You guys really got nice scenery there. Great video, thanks.
I love and respect your family. You are a lucky man. You’re gonna laugh when I tell you this I am from Californication. I do know the south a little bit. I live in Georgia for a while but what I love about what I’m seeing in this video is your woman is a stepmom and your son and her are getting along really well. I may be wrong but I don’t think so that is golden because I’ve seen it go upside down and sideways that is respect to your wife. She’s awesome and you are too but I love your channel you’re a good man, and you remind me of why I love America America rock on
You city people don't know the first thing about real life so that don't surprise me.. But then you same city people that don't know jack want to tell us how to live or how many guns we can have or what kind of vehicle we can have..
Awesome boat and motor and awesome boathouse also love seeing the different scenery from here in northern Alberta Canada and fun video to watch also 👍🏽
Love the video and the camp! Just like us here in NC, we always grew up as river rats, we have lots of gators too, love love to fish! Gma started taking me as soon as i could walk and I took my kids. That meal looked amazing! Looks nice out there, Tara, gonna have to try that bacon wrapped duck! ❤Jenn in NC
Spent most my life on water in NC now on farm but know the waterways and inlets all over east Carolina and just went to Lusianna for anniversary and the small towns /parishes are much nicer than any of cities like New Orleans.
I'm a fan! Like some others here who commented the same, I watched your segment on Peter's and loved all of it. Tara's dad is great! Now, I'm a fan of yours as well. Keep it going!
I gotta enjoy those moments while I can. My son still likes hanging around me for now, but he's almost 13. Hopefully as he gets older he will still want to hang with his dad. Thank you! 🐊
Nice video. We live in Gentilly but we been having our eye out for us a camp. We were looking hard at a place on Irish Bayou but there were just too many issues and it looked like an easy knock-down in the next big storm so we had to give it a miss. Still got our eye out. Considering a couple sites down Bayou Barataria and on Bayou Lafourche, too. A floating camp is not out of the question but we really want to be on land, just overhanging the water, and we want to catch shrimp and crabs from the porch, but we like freshwater fish, too. There just isn't a perfect spot except the one that's yours that you make perfect.
I would love a camp on land right on the water but I'm not sure where I would want it. My house is so close to where I love to fish, it almost feels like a camp. Hurricanes are definitely something to consider when looking for a camp around the south. Good luck with your camp shopping. 🦐🦀🎣
Hey y’all 👋🏼 my first time watching…..I live in Florida but I was gettin some severe anxiety with watchin y’all in that water 😱 if I can’t see the bottom I’m not goin in! Y’all are so brave!
Watched for about 30sec and immediately subbed ya up!! Glad ya didn't have too rely on momma's fishing expertise for dinner 😒😏😁😁😁 Love us some camp!! Nutten like it !! Checking in from Morgantown WV!!
Real nice now this is what you call having a blast. Enjoying life with family. Catching food right from the Lords blessings. Bless the of Jesus for all his goodness! Keep doing this!!!
@taralandry765 lol as a Trahan, it hurts my soul to hear people over do the "cajun" accent for youtube. Hell some of them lay it on so thick I can't even understand them lmao People not from here already think we live in crawfish holes 🤣 Don't make it worse 😂
@ShaneTweezy , yes! If you notice, I don't say a whole lot in most of the videos! I am so self conscious about my accent! I tell Keith all the time, when I hear myself on video, that I need to just shut up! 😆
@taralandry765 😂 I think everybody hates hearing themselves on camera lol I'm the same way. Same with seeing myself. Like, ain't no way I look like dat 🤣😂
@@taralandry765 I was in Denham Springs years ago and someone asked me if I was from the United States. At the time I thought I didn't have much of an accent until I left myself a message on my answering machine and played it back. Pure coonass.
