My son is 2 and we’re teaching him 3 languages, English Spanish and Tagalog and he’s picking up all of them! I don’t believe children get confused, I think they’re like sponges.. they’re going to learn and soak up everything you teach them.

they really are. my 4 year old is currently learning english and spanish and it surprises me when he speaks both fluently and seems to understand everything. i myself only knew spanish when i was in 3rd grade and by 5th i was already fluent in english as well. no way i could learn to speak another language now though lol.

I started to get teary eyed when your dad started talking about how much he loves to film things. That part was so wholesome. It made me realize how little time we have with our parents and it’s important to cherish them and the moments we share with them.

I love your parents! I'm a bilingual 2nd grade teacher, and your dad is right. Teaching a kid two languages at the same time isn't harmful. Your dad's English is so cute!!

Thank you for this. My daughter just started dual language plus. She’s learning Mandarin and English 50/50 and Spanish 2hrs a week. I get told by many people that she’s going to get confused but everything I’ve read says all the opposite. I’m so happy she got accepted into this program. I can’t wait to learn with her.

From someone who does not have supportive and caring parents who are also Hispanic, you’re so blessed to have the parents you guys have. I hear your parents and think to myself I hope I am half of them. I was told my whole life I was a tonta and my heart broke when your dad said not to say that. Your dad is right! There’s so many myths about bilingualism. But it’s actually SO beneficial for children’s brains to learn two or more languages. I’m doing my PhD in Bilingualism and it makes me so happy to see how his instinct was right!!!! 🎉

Girl!!! My husband’s parents are divorced so for holidays I have to visit 3 families! It’s so hard. For a few years we would literally spend 2-3 hours in each home but 2 years ago, we decided to rotate holidays with each family. So we do Thanksgiving with 1 family, Christmas Eve with 1 and then Christmas Day with the other. And then we rotate the following year. It’s been so much better because we get to spend the whole day with just one and not spend it in the car driving all over town. It was weird to have to explain to our families but they understand and prefer it cause we spend the whole day there now. I would suggest trying to do something like that. It’s weird but it works!

My dad is the same. His dad would never show affection or tell him he loved him. But i tell him I love him every chance I get. I hug him every time I see him. As our parents children we can help break those generational curses by telling them ourselves. We can help heal our parents too ❤

1:35:33 I cried. I know that feeling. Especially when it comes to my siblings and my parents. My parents divorced when I was 6, and my family is full of dysfunction. It always has been. We don’t spend our birthdays together, and I think spending a birthday would make me cry, and feel some type of way. I would be happy, yet be triggered because of abandonment.

yalls parents remind me of mine so much 💗 my mom is the short enojona who’s love language is cooking for us and my dad is so wise with his words and was always the family vlogger…they also didn’t raise us with many “I love you’s, you’re smart, you can do this” but as a mother myself now I’ve learned to understand them and look past that because our relationship right now is the best it’s ever been 💗 life is short and family is the most important

I lost my dad back in 2010 i was just 17 years old and your dad always reminds me of him😭. Same thinking and explains everything so clear. Also the hair entrees haha. Hearing your parents talk about their relationship warmed my heart! 🥹 Sadly I never grew up with my parents having a healthy relationship and I think a lot of us can relate to that. Seeing older couples having a loving relationship is so strange to me just because I never saw that growing up. I hope to have this type of relationship with my boyfriend when we grow older! Yessss! I love your parents! Also, I spoke to my daughter only in Spanish since she was born. It helped me reinforce my Spanish and now she started Kindergarten and she still talks to me in Spanish, but to her uncle in English. I practice English with her sometimes, but I love that she is able to speak Spanish so well! I also put her Netflix profile in Spanish, so we both learn more Spanish along the way lol
