I've been an og pixel and pixel 4XL user. My wish list is: - no curve screen - face recognition - finger print scanner on back - squeeze for assistant - smaller designs like 4 and og... 6 is too big lol
1. Same Size and bezels as the Pixel 5 but with an under display camera 2. Headphone Jack 3. Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner 4. Wishful thinking: Expandable storage and a user removable battery
Please give us a beautiful 6.7" FLAT display. That's all I've ever wanted. Unfortunately, as someone that is very adamant about having a glass screen protector on my phones, I really have strayed away from the Pixel lineup of phones for that reason. I just want manufacturers to go back to a flat display.
Good vid and I agree about the need for a smaller device needed (with same processor and cams as Pro version). Also, I'm getting lots of POPs on when watching this vid on my home setup. I suggest getting a pop screen for your mic, thx.
The great thing about Google...I will, on my Pixel 6, get many of any NEW things Google will be coming up with in the next couple of years...BTW...I use my home address and Fitbit to open easily...and yes, my fingerprint is working fine too at this time, just a slight moment taken. Agree on flat glass and matte finishes.
I fully agree. On all points. I'm comming from a history of pixel devices. I started with a pixel 2 then the pixel 3a. I just got a pixel 6 for a work phone. My first thought was it's unnecessarily big. I'm 6ft tall and I don't think my hands are especially small (about 5in from the tip of my thumb to the middle of my wrist, 7.5in middle finger tip to wrist) it's just uncomfortable and hard to use. My next thought was that the fingerprint scanner was slow and in the wrong place. with the traditional capacitive scanner on the back I could have my phone unlocked before it was out of my pocket. With my work phone and the under screen scanner it takes a conscious effort to unlock it. I do the bad thing and charge my phone over night so charging time isn't much of a concern but better charging times would be nice. I have never changed my work phone but starting at 60% it need 1hr 40 min to fully charge on a 65w laptop charger. The fact that they keep putting headphone jacks in the a-series shows that there's no reason not to include it. Recently cracked my 3a screen will probably get a 5a to replace it instead of a 6 now that I've tried it
OK its been almost a week since I got a free pixel 6 from work and the under screen fingerprint sensor fucking terrible. I don't mind it being slow and I could have dealt with the conscious effort required to use a front fingerprint scanner worked more than half the time. More often than not I have to realign my finger 2 or 3 times if not use a different finger all togeather. Getting my self a 5a and paying that they make the phone smaller and put the fingerprint scanner back on the back of the phone where its been for years
Work phone update. I let the battery fully drain and it broke the fingerprint scanner 😑 how is the software such a trash fire not only dose it break if it looses power but the only way to fix it is to wipe the entire phone. If your biometric data gets lost from lack of power you can still use a pin but my job requires a full blown password so it's a pain in the ass unless I reset it
I switched from my s21u to the p6pro and I like it. I'm not having any of these fingerprint issues. Instead of tapping it, hold it on the sensor and done. Cameras are so much better and software (3rd party) runs better.
My Pixel 3's battery life is terrible. Otherwise, only Android 12 glitches are bothering me. Pixels are amazing when they're new. After 2-3 years they are disappointing. Starting to consider SGS 22 or iPhone 14
My Pixel 3 was totally fine for a couple of years and then the battery tanked. Got it the battery replaced and it was fine for another 6 months when I got caught up in that pixel 3 bricking fiasco. Managed to get it replaced for nothing so now have a new Pixel 3. Can easily get 2 days out of it with my use case. My flatmate has had 3 iPhones in all that time. She just keeps breaking them. My lasting impression is that It seems she's always got a cracked screen. In fact, looking back, if I ever see someone using a phone with a cracked screen, 9/10 that phone is an iPhone.
How about when they bring them out they have enough for everybody to buy. Bought mine a couple days after launch day the 512 GB model and still no idea when it's going to get here. This is a joke.
I returned my pixel 6 for a lot of these same reasons, along with the poor quality display. If they changed everything mentioned in this video (and the screen quality), I would buy the pixel 7 for sure.
I *really* hate hole punch and notch cameras. Much rather have bevels for cameras and things like stereo front facing speakers. Not too bothered about fingerprint reader as I'm not a phoneaholic. An extra .5 of a second means nothing to me. Front better than back though as I'm more likely to have my phone on a desk than in my pocket. I charge my phone overnight so would love a user changeable charge speed for the opposite reason. Very happy for a trickle charge that takes hours if it means the battery lasts longer. Be very good if it was intelligent though (fast charge during the day, super slow when doing an overnight charge). Plus 1 for a smaller phone. Really want a Pixel 3 sized phone but not if battery life suffers too much. Battery life definitely one of my more important requirements. Camera bump needs to be a bit better designed. The concept is fine but implementation isn't perfect. Never been a fan of curved screens and even think a slight bevel is better for screen visibility and palm rejection reasons. Sticky fingers not an issue. I'm a naked phone user. I just don't drop them and got out of the habit of putting my phone in the same pocket as my keys or coins years ago. Even so, fingerprints never been an issue. Definitely needs a more black version. Yeah black is boring but my phone is a tool, not a bit of jewelry.
No issues whatsoever with my pixel 6 , I have owned every single nexus and pixel each new one is better than the last , no exceptions, lots of nitpicking going on here.
Still loves my Pixel 4. Just made tricks on lengthening the battery from 4-5hrs with casual to average usage. The size is super amazing. Google didn't realize that alot of people likes 6" phones only. If iPhones become android, I'd pick them over Pixel since their units are all trademark with pocketable sizes except the ProMax versions. Google should retain their P6 design in the back, leave the curve screen, focus on regular screen design, and make them a bit smaller from 6"-6.2" only.
I think that Google should have 4 variants like the iPhone: Pixel Pixel XL Pixel Ultra Pixel Ultra XL I do agree that the regular should be smaller. Also, I would like to see the regular Pixel have a tele photo lense with the regular lens and ultra wide. Then I would like to the Pixel Pro (or Ultra) have the same camera setup like the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
That's what they claim. I have a Oneplus 5 and after 4 years i get 4 hours of screen-on time. Maximum you could replace your battery, but again, fast charging would be for few minutes and you're good to go. I would've compromised the slow charging speed, but the Pixel 6 isn't a battery-life champ either.
A proper DSP audio engine for the phone that is system wide. The music-fx built in EQ app is horrendous and needs to go. It's been there since like Android 2. 2. Fingerprint scanner back on back of phone 3. Faster charging 4. Smaller size (Pixel 4A) 5. Bug free software especially on the new device it's released for. Android 12 runs better on my Pixel 4A vs my Pixel 6 Pro. 6. More storage options for all models. (If Apple already has 1TB storage, Google needs it also. Only reason I bought the Pixel 6 Pro) 7. Switch back to Snapdragon chips. (Better modem and connectivity and charged faster too). 8. Open up the USB-C to HDMI support. (Seriously quit disabling it by default without any work around when it's fully capable) 9. Overhaul the "Google Files" app. Let people decompress zip files, add better organization and function to it and the built-in music player that is within the files app, expand upon it and make a stand alone offline music app because RU-vid music sucks for offline use.
My wishlist: * No more regular and Pro, back to regular and XL - both Pro, only different sizes. * Better fingerprint scanner * No more curved display * Uniform bezels all around * Matte back (glass or otherwise) * More consistency across different camera modules (e.g. 4K60 for all) * Wider ultrawide camera module (i.e. 0.5x) * Brighter display and LTPO * Keep/better speakers
My Pixel 7 wishlist: 1. Less slippery body (like adding textured sides and frosted back glass). 2. Bring back the old rear fingerprint sensor (it wasn't broke, didn't need fixing, and I really miss it after having it on my last 3 phones). 3. Slightly smaller regular Pixel 7. The Pixel 3 and 5 were the perfect size, but I could live with something in between those and the 6. Maybe 6.2".
I have a pixel 6 and I like the phone, but there are some annoying bugs like RU-vid crashing frequently amongst other things that need to be addressed. When they release the Pixel 7, I may upgrade instead of keeping my pixel 6 for several years.
You people complaining about the 1 second for the fingerprint reader you need to learn some patience. You will not for after 1 second you guys would've never made it in the 80s and 00s I ever booting up commodore 64 and having to 5-10 minutes for programs to load!

Yes... Leave the gimmicky curved glass to Samsung. The main reason why the 6pro is not as an upgrade for me. Sadly though thankfully I'm still on my 3XL but having no more future update support is having me look for a new phone.
I hate that you have to get a big ass phone for better front and rear cameras and the Tele lens. Just make another variant like apple does. Pixel 6, pixel 6+ and pixel 6 pro. EASY. Also I think curved glass issues are overstated cus I've been rocking S9+ for the past 3 years and never had much of an issue. Plus the external of the device looks almost new except the area around the charger port.

I don’t agree with reducing the battery life of the pixel phone. That’s my only knock on this video. I’m okay with thicker phones if an efficient processor paired with a large capacity battery is added.
Still loving my Pixel 5 and am confident of having 3 happy years with it. Hopefully the Pixel 8 will be similar size and build (i.e. non-existent camera bump) to 5 and with fingerprint sensor back to the rear. Would also love future Pixel phones to have Dolby Atmos but that's probably wishful thinking. It's the only thing I miss from Samsung.
I put my pixel 4xl up against a pixel 6 and they are just about the same size. I agree thought the pro is just too tall. As for the finger print reader, it's fast enough for me. I'm sorry but if you are opening your phone to use it that many times a day, you have a serious addiction problem and probably why your complained about the 4xl battery which I have never had a problem with.
I am on the same page with the list. That is why after a week of debates with myself I've got Pixel 5a 5g. Good enough for my needs plus great aluminum body and water protection. In two years from now I will upgrade to something new from Google.
No more notch/hole punch. Those things are just totally ruining icon layouts just to accommodate them. And bring back dual stereo front facing speakers. Genuinely don't mind the bezels to make that possible. If anything makes it holdable.
The curved glass is especially annoying cause screen protectors come at a premium and require literal glue and uv to put on. if this next one doesnt work im trading in the phone cause I will drop it at some point and I dont want to use a cracked phone... Big issue
I love Pixel phone and still rocking Pixel 4a 5G as my daily driver coupled with iPhone 13 Pro but I won’t upgrade Pixel 4a 5G to Pixel 6/ 6Pro unless Google solve all issues in Pixel 6/ 6 Pro AND add important features including Face ID, faster on screen finger print sensor, customisable always ON display, 120 x digital scumbag zoom, 20x optical zoom, separation of power button and volume button which ideally should be on different side of the phone, headphone jack, 60 watt fast charger, wired headphone,, blazing fast night shot, macro camera mode, portrait video mode, second space (a.k.a thot protection for some late night scumbag clandestine activity), IR blaster, customisation of Google bar widget, and bigger battery for the big boy (Pixel Pro). Let see if Pixel 7 Pro have all those laundry list features lack in current Pixel 6/ 6 Pro. Samsung knights: stand down and stand by 😂

My god man. Can we exercise some patience. The pixel 6 isn't even a month old and you're talking about speculation on a newer model. This is why companies have customers by the balls due to high demand based on a need for instant gratification. The world runs on subscriptions and pre-orders because companies know they can get away with putting out unfinished products for an inflated price with the "promise" of an update. IE every cellphone, video game, software. If patience is truly a virtue, your soul will be rewarded with a Scooby snack

I agree with everything except the smaller size. I want one that is as big, or even a bit bigger than, the Pixel 2 XL. I've got big hands and bad eyes, plus I would like more battery (and that would allow for a bigger battery).
Tbh OnePlus 9 pro uses the same kind of finger print scanner and it's just as fast if not faster than my S21 Ultra. If they just fixed whatever is hanging up this optical finger print scanner in the software it could be incredibly fast to unlock.
100% agree. The charging speed is not much of an issue for me, but the size and the fingerprint sensor is making me seriously consider the S21 instead. The curved glass sides make full screen videos and text in the edge look bad. The ergonomics on this phone are just bad.
I quite like the curved screen so I guess I hope Google doesn't take to heart everything you say. 😂. All I'm hoping for is better tensor battery efficiency because this 5000 mAh battery feels rather small

Regretting purchasing the Samsung S21 Ultra 5G and paying up the !#! for cloud storage. When you try to retrieve your pictures, they mysteriously vanish. Plus, Google owns all of your pictures; you don't, it seems to me.
I learnt to face reality that Google does a great job at rebranding old existing stuff into whatever they launch as brand new (be it hw/sw). I am tired of it. I recently jumped ship and bought 2 Xperia 1 iii phones for myself and my spouse. The spouse likes the small form factor better than her pixel 3a. I like mine more than my previous pixel 3xl. Prior to this I had tried the pixel 5 and the Sony Xperia 1 ii, but this did not impress me enough compared to the 1 ii. I returned both and waited for the 1 III. The sd888 in the Sony is optimized for the Sony's 4k 120 fps (very tall aspect ratio crops of the 4k a bit) for performance. Lost the justification to continue with pixels ever since Google pulled the mat under og pixel users who jumped on board for unlimited video storage backup (idc about photo backup) Expensive, but no regrets with Sony so far.
Continued: Fingerprint reader: side fingerprint is FAST AND can be used for both hands. Usable when grabbing it from the pocket or from the table. 30 w charger included. Software / "skin" is very close to stock /Google-Now-Launcher-like, but has GREAT custom charging optimization for extending battery life a very decent fraction more than usual. My past pixel phones (in total, I have bought and set up at least 6 or 7 pixels for my family among gen 1, 3 /3XL/3a/5 and none of their barriers could be said as usable after 3 years. Narrow enough dimensions even with a case to the point where one hand use is great for myself and the women in the family with smaller hands. Has a custom camera button with 2 stage half/full press. The custom Google button is AWESOME for invoking the voice assistant without saying the ok Google/hey Google voice prompt, and this is much MUCH better than Google pixel 3 than came with side squeeze HW feature. All the buttons are on the right side, so for the car stand, I bought one that was compatible for a Galaxy fold and it works great ( wireless charging with grip on 3 sides, leaving the 4th side with buttons fully accessible ). Battery capacity is great on paper. Battery life /sot will vary depending on how heavy you use it, like with any other phone, but the main difference here is no need to feel GUILTY/PARANOID when it comes to topping off in the middle of the day, since you can cap the charging via software, you don't have to remember to unplug before hitting 80% or 90% based on how you tune it or let it manage automatically. Works great in practice to maximize battery life as still usable day to day past the first 2 to 3 years. Stereo speakers sound symmetric on both sides. Only NEGATIVE for some is cost and the camera SW lacking Ai enhancements. I have tried side loading Gcam and works okay 70-80 % use cases But the built in camera has a definitely has a different look that I argue is better. Everybody that I show pictures to compare with pixels did like more natural colors from the photos and videos (10bit color and HDR videos). Selfie camera quality on almost all recent Sony flagships are forgettable/underwhelming/subpar for posting photos/videos on social media, but plenty good enough for use for duo / zoom calls.
Haven't personally had issues with the fingerprint reader, especially since the latest update. The biggest issue I have with it, is it just won't work with most protectors. The charging speed needs to be 50W minimum. Size wise? I'd rather go bigger. I wouldn't be opposed to like 6.8". I prefer curved glass screens. We need a better more efficient 5G modem.
Fingerprint readers are trash! The most important thing Google could do is bring back Face Unlock, I don't plan to upgrade from my 4xl til they do, if I have no choice I guess I'm switching to Apple because not having to use a pos fingerprint reader ever again means that much to me.
If they go back to snapdragon, I might jump ship to Samsung. I want as many years of security updates and OS upgrades, so tensor will be for me once this pixel 5a gives way hopefully in 3 years.
The pixel 6 feels like a premium phone from 4-5 years ago with last years specs. I feel like the hardware team was a bit rusty this go around. I hope the design of the pixel 7 is much more refined
