Our recent miscarriages and thoughts on birth control 

I've been married 20 years and have not yet been able to get pregnant. Yet, still i believe God can work a miracle in mine and my husband's body. While we've been waiting, we have adopted 3 beautiful children ❤.

I’m pregnant with my first after 4 years of infertility. I’m so excited! Children are such a blessing 💛

Last year we decided we were done with having more children. We hadn't had a baby in almost 5 years and the last birth was hard and traumatic for me. When our oldest who was 10 at the time passed away from a tragic car accident we changed our minds. We realized how blessed we were and that we wanted more blessings. I miscarried this year as well but we're praying that we'll be blessed with another baby again. So yes we shouldn't make decisions to soon. Sometimes we've gotta wait 5 years for the trauma of birth to pass. Thank you so much for your encouragement.

As a Christian single woman of 51 yrs young. I'm still hopeful that I will find a Christian man who is filled with the Holy Spirit and we will be joined together. I am no longer able to have children biologically but the Lord has given me such a heart of hospitality for all ages. God is good whether married, single , children or childfree. I'm so sorry for your losses. I have a beautiful almost 24 yr old daughter with 2 babies of her own. I always wanted more, but unfortunately miscarried my 2nd, and never got pregnant again. I am thankful every day for my daughter, grand babies, and can't wait to meet my lost child when the good Lord takes me home.❤

When I first tuned in, I was looking for home tips from large families, not because I have one, but because nothing else seemed to work. I fully expected to see somewhat of a freak show, but a functional house. I'm not even Christian, but I stayed because of the peace I felt watching without drama or scandal. From you I've learned that chaos doesn't have to be chaotic in your mind. You can just lean in and enjoy without being perfect. You can always make time whether you have 1 child or 20. I've become a much more patient mother and wife since I found your channel. Your family has been such a blessing for my mind and my heart.

I love my extended family! My dad came from a family of 16 children. Only 12 made it to adulthood and all of them have died now. My mom was one of 6. We have so many cousins and it’s wonderful. I had fertility issues and was never able to conceive and I adopted 2 children who are siblings and have been a true blessing in my life. I am 70 now and I love our large family.❤

I love when Solo does Q&A’s with Sarah. He always shares so much wisdom. I would love to be a member of their church if I lived in Nebraska, but the church RU-vid channel will have to suffice, and it’s great!

I believe whole heartedly that my children were meant to be here. I used three different types of birth control and because pregnant on each of them. After that I just stopped using birth control. I now have 6 kids and they are all such a blessing.

After depression two times during pregnancy and one psychosis, and endometriosis I decided to not have any more. I believe God does not see that as a sin.

Thank you for your candid responses as always! As a momma of 10 in a small house, I completely understand the noise and the need to find a quiet place. When we did full-time missions work, we all lived in a small RV for five years! Our house feels like a mansion. 🤣 Also, I have to tell you that the snow is refreshing to look at, but I am happy that I live in Texas. I'm sorry for your losses. Thank you for being so incredibly open. I always dreamed of a large family but infertility and miscarriages happened instead. Finally came to some peace and understanding about it with the grace of the Lord that this isn't forever. Remarried as an older person and became a stepmother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Never imagined these blessings in this life but have learned to stop thinking I know everything and control it. Thank you❤

Such a beautiful video. I had my first child when I was 20 and was terrified to tell my parents because I was not married and I was 19 when I became pregnant. Fast forward a couple years and my husband and I were trying nh to conceive and could not. We/I saw many specialist but were told to be calm because we were both in our 20’s and we had already conceived once on our own that it will happen. After 12 years I finally found a doctor who listened and ran tests and found out I had severe endometriosis and that my husband had a low sperm count so we would probably never conceive on our own again and the fact that we had was a miracle and that I had carried full term was also a miracle. We embarked on IVF and now have 2 more children. All 3 of my children are miracles in my eyes. When we decided to embark on IVF I was again terrified to tell my parents. My father responded as I expected, we shouldn’t do it because we can’t afford another child, but my mom reprimanded him and explained that if we waited till we could afford a child financially we would never have children. My mother dotted on my first 2, unfortunately she passed from cancer when I was pregnant with my third child and my father who was against has seen his grandchildren maybe 6 times since she passed away 9 years ago. This is his loss because my kids are AMAZING and he will never know them.

I was DONE after 3, but then I started watching your channel and my thinking and desires changed. Number 4 is on its way now!

I got pregnant twice on hormonal birth control. When my son was born I got my tubes tied. There was no way we could have supported more than the three we had. On the subject of birth control my body didn't process it right. I'm just happy I'm through menopause now. Thank you for sharing.

So sorry for your miscarriages. Love that there are not accidental children but accidental parents. I was adopted as a baby and I am blessed with the family that chose me. I had many years go by & not fall pregnant…ended up going IVF and had twins born on Christmas Day…they were definitely my blessed and gift from God

Thank you for making this video. I just found your channel and I have been just going back and watching your videos. I’m a Christian and I’m a shamed to say that my attitude about motherhood has been my kids are a burden, I have been hating motherhood, I have 2 kids with very hard behavioural challenges and I’m also chronically ill. Motherhood has been so hard and frustrating and so many days of crying out saying I don’t know what to do with them. This video just struck me when you said if you keep your mind as they are a burden it will catch up to you, yes they are a blessing I struggled with infertility and all I wanted was children and now I’m sitting here wishing I didn’t have kids. So thank you this video is really showing me my heart issue. I also ask if anyone is reading this is a Christian please pray for me and my family.

I have been following your videos for a long time but this one made me so emotional. I was a married adult woman who felt ashamed, guilty telling my parents i was pregnant with my third child. I received so much negative comments from friends and family since i already had 1 son and 1 daughter. 5 years later i have so much regrets about not enjoying that pregnancy but rather hiding it and feeling embarrassed telling people i was having my 3rd child.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE watching your family. I’m the second of 10 siblings, now reaching older age (70’s). I have five of my own children, nine grandkids and two great grandchildren. As we watch you, my husband will say “how do they do it”. I remind him I came from a huge family. We just did it, it was our normal ordinary life.

My husband and I have been convicted by God to trust Him with our fertility as well. It is SO counter-cultural (even counter church culture) and it breaks my heart that as believers, so many of us have allowed the culture to define our view of fertility instead of allowing God to. My mom is a believer and adores her grand babies, but she's made a few strange remarks when we've told her we're going to have more as God allows. It's very heartbreaking. Currently pregnant with number 4 and my husband and I and our other children are so excited!!! Praise Jesus! Our first pregnancy was unexpected, my husband and i werent following the Lord at the time. We decided soon after she was born that we werent going to have any more. My husband got a vasectomy. Within a year of the vasectomy, God convited us each separately that we were supposed to have more babies. So he had the vasectomy reversed. After awhile he got tested to see if the reversal worked. We waited for the results. I took a pregnancy test and it was positive!!!! The next day, the doctor called and said "the reversal was successful, but barely.... youre probably going to need to rely on fertility treatments to get pregnant" and my husband said "really?? Bc we just found out yesterday that my wife is pregnant!!" 😂 God is so good!!! Pregnant for the third time since the "barely successful" vasectomy and have had no problems getting pregnant. Thank You Jesus.

We're expecting #5, and we're so thankful. We only ever anticipated 4. 😂😂

My mother was one of 16 and Grandma went from having the 16th, she went right into menopause. I guess their quiver was full. When Grandpa passed away, there were still 11 at home. I was only pregnant once and had miscarriage..my mom said she didn't need anymore grandchildren when I told her I was pregnant..I was really hurt over comment and than I had miscarriage..I had to really pray hard to forgive her..

We struggled with infertility for 3 years and now my beautiful baby girl is 3 months ❤️ we went through so many treatments and always ended up with a negative test. We finally gave up and 5 months later, I found I was 7 weeks pregnant. the thoughts of having more kids have been so difficult because of fear. Either fear of having another traumatic birth or fear of not being able to conceive again. Thank you for this video. It brought so much peace to my spirit that even though I may not know what the next few years will look like in my family, God does. Thank you for the reminder to not make long term decisions during short term problems ❤️

Imagine had you only had 4. You'd almost be empty-nesters. Have you ever sat back and thought of all you'd have missed had you kept to a max of 4 kiddos. My husband and I have 8 children collectively. His, mine, an angel, and ours. When our daughter was born, we thought she would be our blender baby. Bringing our family together, but she died at 10 days, 10 hours and 20 minutes old. We couldn't end our family on a tragedy, so we tried again and had a sweet baby boy. This was followed by another baby boy and a decision that our family was complete. Only to be surprised by the Lord with our beautiful daughter.

One of the families in our community had 16 children! Mind you it was back in the 60’s and 70’s, they didn’t have a lot of money but they had so much love in their little house.

I truly believe our stories have already been written and we’re just here to turn the pages. We certainly don’t have the control we like to think we do. You two were blessed with your beautiful family, if another baby is in your story,the lord will provide. My Great grandmother had 24 kids ( that made it to adulthood) and one grandmother had 16, the other 13. I’m so thankful for the crazy amount of relatives I have. My kids are always amazed when I show them their cousins on Facebook they didn’t know they were related to. Last count there were 14 sets of twins.

78 year old. 2 boys 3 grandsons. As I look back on my life I wish we would have had more children. It was our decision to stop at 2. They live 3 hours from us and we don’t see them often.. grandson is 23 and a nurse so he is working. 20 year old going to college so is busy. 17 year old in high school. Must just live our lives together and be thankful when we do see them. Oh, will be married 59 years in January.

Our culture truly doesn’t value children. When we adopted our 4th child we had family comment things like “well, you shot yourself in the foot with this one.” It was so hurtful because we were so excited and felt so blessed to become parents again. It’s all about perspective I guess.

I understand what you mean about being grateful for a tiny house. I am fighting to keep my house from someone that tried and still is trying to steal my house long story please remember my family and I in your prayers. I am grateful for my tiny house and I am also getting very sick from the fighting for it and yes I would love for it to bigger but I am still very grateful

So sorry for your losses Sarah and Solo, doesn’t matter how far along you are it still hurts ❤❤ We have 3 beautiful daughters and have also lost 3 precious babies. ❤❤ After each miscarriage one of our girls has been born and I can see how God has really been with us through all the losses and I’m grateful for those pregnancies as they have brought me closed to God and taught me to trust him more. ❤

My parents were criticized for having five children. My husband and I have two, as did almost every one in our generation. Gratefully, our two have given us ten grandchildren! Every child is special, unique and a blessing, born for a purpose.

Definitely! "Always question authority" and do your own research before trusting any "professionals". They may not like it, but at least you're discussing important issues with some knowledge, at end "whose life is it anyway!". Taking responsibility of our lives is a must. With some professional opinions and advice of course!

I was blessed with 1 child. She just turned 16 and I have watched yall for YEARSSS! I wish God had given me more than 1 because I don't want her to be alone when we are gone. I have a very small family and that's my fear. However our God is an awesome God and I know there's a reason for everything and he will take care of her when I can't 🙏

Praying for God's direction and trusting him with the outcome is always the best way, isn't it? Not everyone is meant to have a large family but it's so good to hear your positive experiences. You do not have special needs children and I think that really affects couples' decisions to be finished having more. Or parental health, physical or mental. Not just finances. The key is to pray about your own decisions and don't judge others.

Thank you for sharing your hearts and scripture! I’m sorry for your losses. We currently have six children and we have not heard from God one way or the other about more children so we are content and listening. One thing I wrestle with when it comes to discussing the blessing of children and God providing, is that there are cases where children starve, people struggle to live each day, etc. I have more thoughts but am leaving it here because I don’t know how to finish. We raised 2 of our children and had 9 losses. It was truly hard to end on a loss but God is our comfort. Thank you for sharing so openly and removing the judgement that so many put on others. From the time my mom had my brother (I was 3) I couldn't wait to be a mom. I wanted a dozen. Even with my 2 we always had a houseful of homeschool and church friends' children in our home and I LOVED the chaos of all those boys. Now we are praying for wisdom for our children as they start their families. Four grandbabies so far. God bless you all richly! And Sarah, from my experience, progesterone levels dropping were an issue for me very early. My gyn told me to NEVER use hormonal birth control again but we felt the damage was done and played a role for us to have so much loss.

Great video. I had two children while taking the pill. I’ve always said they are my miracle babies not mistakes. I believe god decided two children wasn’t enough for me. My husband and I are now 65 years old and are so very happy that we were blessed with 4children, soon to be 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Our life is very full and wonderfully happy.

After my first born was two we started trying for another baby. Dr said no more babies. I went to a specialist and took fertility drugs. He said it would take 4 months to 4 years. After 4months I became pregnant. When #2 was 5 months old I was pregnant with number 3. We have 3 sons. We wanted 6 but God had other plans. I had to have emergency hysterectomy. I mourned for a longtime. We were thrilled when I became pregnant with #3. My mother cried and screamed and had a fit. Also need to add I am an only child. I am blessed to have two grandsons and another on the way in Jan 2024. God is Good and In control. Blessings

Thank you so much for sharing. We have struggled to get pregnant. We have two wonderful blessings in our arms and I'm very sure we lost one last Oct. We would love a house FULL of children but the Lord is in control❤.

We had 6 babies in a 7 year span,no multiples! We were completely overwhelmed and made a rash decision(with lots of pressure) to get a vasectomy. We regretted it and decided just 5 months later to get it reversed. God blessed us with 7 more children. We are so grateful for the children we could have missed out on ❤ 13 kids has not always been easy but definitely worth it!

Even if you don’t have a large family medical people are not always accepting of family size. I have 2 kids who are very close in age (Irish twins, 11 months and 1 day apart) when I went back to my OB for my second pregnancy, one of the OB’s in the practice definitely made it known that she was not supportive of having back to back babies.

We had a miscarriage between our third and fourth children. The number of times I heard from others that it was ok or no big deal because I already had three children didn’t make it hurt any less. We struggled to get pregnant again after the miscarriage and when we had given up (actually given up to the point that we gave away our crib) we found out one month later we were expecting our fourth.

We have 7 children and in the process of adopting our grand child to make 8, I love your big family. God bless you all

Children are a blessing for sure. I have the utmost respect for large families as well as the people who don't want kids. There are some people who should never have been parents, my mother was done being a parent when I was 10 . I'm the oops baby and the youngest of three, I'm 10 years younger than my sister. I am sad for the babies you've lost. You are very blessed my sister and I never had children. We married in our late 30's she's #4 and I am #5. I think that's why I watch your videos you all remind me of my family. We are all very close. My sister and I are happy with our many nephews and grandnephews some we have helped raise. My two youngest sisters never had kids either but we have no regrets, God is good, Praise God

I had 3 beautiful babies. We had a miscarriage with our 4th at 6 weeks. My husband and I were devastated. I prayed to God and accepted that there was a reason God needed that baby more then we did. We have came to accept and count our blessings. Everybody was healthy I was healthy. We accepted that 3 was our number. 2 years later God blessed us with baby #5 and I carried to full term and he's 9months now. Never give up. If it's meant to be God will deliver 😊

Amen Solo and Sarah....so we'll spoken. I always say I love you all and My thought first and foremost follow your heart. There were 7 of us and momma said everybody had something to say about how many children they had in 10 years BUT that she never felt complete until my baby brother who is 6 years younger than me. Speaking of which he came and spent the afternoon with my husband and me, he is a blessing to me. I have told him of you all. Today you all made me very happy in your message. Sarah the picture of you view out the window of yours and Solos quiet place needs to become a Christmas Card ....simply beautiful. All ways in my prayers and extra for Juda to come home filled with all the goodness one receives from spreading God's word and love.

I love your advice! I’m a mom of 9, but I almost missed having a large family. I had a tubal ligation at the birth of my third and had a reversal when she was almost 2. And your advice to pray when your spouse is not on the same page is spot on. My husband was NOT in favor of the reversal when I first mentioned it. I spent the next several months praying for his mind to be changed and the Lord did the work. I also agree with you guys that family planning is not a sin. We were both in complete agreement that we were done when I found out I was pregnant with my 9th. The only regret I have about that is that he has Down syndrome and I dislike it that people think we stopped because of his diagnosis. So completely untrue! He’s such a huge blessing to our family! Aw, I’m so sorry for your loss. I would love to have our 12th and not end on a loss. We have had 3 MCs in the last year, and I know it's all in God's hands. I get your thoughts on the tiny house, and I know first-hand that filming is tough with a full house in a tiny home. I would love to film in front of that view; it is stunning! I have never been on birth control because of what it does to the body and the babies, but we tried to space our kids in the early years. I am glad after our 3td baby, we became open to life, and here we are with 11 children. I would never change a thing. Thank you for bringing up this topic and sharing your views. This video was definitely amazing I felt like I was sitting and having a conversation with the both of you and getting to know u a bit. I believe in a lot of what u guys spoke on and I have ppl tell my husband and I that we have enough kids and don't need to have anymore. But I feel that I was made to be a mother to more and I am so happy when I bring new life into the world and the fact that I was blessed and chosen to be the mother to each one is the greatest feeling. I love your big family, I always wanted a big family. I am one of six- (blended family) and my husband is one of 9. (Not a blended family) I have one son here on earth (20 years old) and 12 babies in heaven, someday I will see them and get to love on them. We were made to feel extremely guilty for having our 3. My sil point blanked asked us the day after giving birth to our daughter if i had gotten my tubes tied. And when i said no she had a few choice words to say about that. We of course did decide not to have any more though i always wanted more kids. The guilt still hits me even though I'm passed the age of even being able to try. That being said my oldest aon and his wife want a large family and rhat is such a joy for me. Grandbaby no 2 is due in January. This Grandma is beyond blessed.

I am not one to comment a lot on anyone's videos. But I do watch your videos on a regular basis. But I just really wanted to tell you that this video tonight was incredible. I really enjoyed hearing you both speak on your beliefs, for your husband to talk about the Bible and the scriptures around these topics. Thank you for sharing your family story, I think some times people who have larger families get the assumption from others that it’s easy and no loss ever, and that’s just simply not always the case! Just because you have a larger family doesn’t mean it was easy to get pregnant or there wasn’t loss and heartache along the way!

Thank you so much for sharing your story, experiences, and thoughts on family size. My husband and I both came from families of three children, our parents from families of five, six, and ten children. We wanted to have a minimum of three. I became pregnant six months after we married. We were so excited about this! It was a difficult pregnancy for me, morning sickness all day long throughout the entire pregnancy. But holding that beautiful baby girl was worth every bit of the sickness, bed rest, and everything else! When she was a year old I talked to my doctor about my next pregnancy and what I would need to do to avoid being so sick! That’s when he told me that due to the complications I had during labor and delivery that I would not be able to have more children. I was devastated! I cried constantly but would not accept that Lori would be an only child. When I did finally come to grips with my emotions I prayed constantly for another child, as did my husband. Our second child, another daughter, was born three years and ten months after our first! I had the same complications during labor and delivery and came close to death. But I would not believe that God would give me this beautiful little girl and then not let me hold her! I came very close to losing her during my third month of pregnancy, just as I did with the first one. I survived, and so did my baby. God granted me a miracle! Baby number three, another girl, was born six years later. Another miracle! And again, a very difficult pregnancy that almost resulted in loss. But by the Grace of God, all three of my daughters have made it adulthood! They are now 50, 46, and 40! And I thank God for blessing me with these babies! After the birth of our third, my husband and I felt so content with our family, and apparently so was God. If I had to this again, complications and all, I would in a heartbeat!

I needed to hear that about finances. I am pregnant with my 3rd and have been worried about finances. But I know God will provide.

So sorry for your losses. I had a miscarriage last year after 4 kids and I too feel like it will be hard if we end our family on a loss. But I really appreciated your encouragement on viewing children as a blessing and to pray about it. ❤
