3 years of development, preparation and unlimited team effort. 3 years on the road to our 17th overall victory in Le Mans. See how our return to Le Mans became our mission for the future. German version: • Video
As a Dutch born I have respect how Germans think in a collective always, to take all options together for the better. That is why the best Teams win, working together and pushing forward. Congratulations!
I'm a Toyota fan and I was so disappointed to see my team not going well in terms of performance in 2015. From the first race at Siverstone, I knew Toyota had no luck to win Le Mans 2015. But, on the same race, I saw a white spaceship with the number 18 on the bonnet that could deliver more than a 1000HP and could distance the mighty Audis. From this moment, I knew Porsche would be able to win Le Mans. And to be sure I was right, I went to see the race in June. Started with the qualifying and BANG ! 3.16"887 !!! That spaceship is INSANE ! I was absolutely speechless... It was going so fast ! But it wasn't the race so I quickly remind my self it's just lap times and not victory. Then, on the 13th of June at 3 PM, three spaceship: one red, one black and one white flys away the Audis and show domination during 24 Hours. I walked all around the track, went to Arnage, Porsche Curves, Dunlop Chicane or Tertre Rouge and asked my self how that red spaceship manage to keep so much speed on the curves ? How the black spaceship manage to keep up after all it's problems ? How the white spaceship is in the lead with three rookies onboard ? How all these things possible ? Then, the only answer possible was because it's Porsche. Because they have 60 years of racing history. Because 16 wins at Le Mans. To be honest, when Porsche announced in 2011 they'll be back at Le Mans, I literally jumped all over the place of excitement. I'm a Toyota fan, but I can't deny I'm also a Porsche fan. Cause you just know how spray emotions and excitement. Beautiful film Porsche, you literally gave me a tear too when I saw your victory on the 14th of June at 3 PM and just after I watched your film. I live in Le Mans, sometimes I go to the empty track and I keep saying to my self: "145 days left before they'll be home". All the best for this new year to the entire Porsche Team and yes, I want an 18th victory with that spaceship you called the 919 :)
Well, thats because Porsche had Petrol engine (meaning bigger fuel tank" and Audi had Diesel engine (smaller fuel tank). And bear in mind that Audi and Porsche are owned by VW
Thank you Porsche for this wonderful, emotional, and expertly put together video; showcasing all of your hard work behind the success. I watched the last 30 minutes of the 2015 Le Mans race from my living room and when the double victory happened, I jumped up screaming and cheering for you guys. I wanted nothing, but to to see your team win at Le Mans again. I wish you the best of luck for 2016! I can only dream of being a factory driver for you guys... Forever, a Porsche supporter
+Robert Clayton Sorry, but it's not a patch on the Audi "Truth in 24" documentaries. I felt this was more an extended Porsche commercial - full of marketing speak, where as the Audi "Truth in 24" documentaries, while obviously promotional for audi were less like adverts.
I really don`t think i`ve seen a better documentary :) It was amazing from the start till the end. Also congrats to the guys that made this film, it`s simply outstanding.
53:06 minutes goosebumps ... and I never joined a Le Mans race live ... just got the passion from my father and watched trough day and night first passionate for Audi and since Porsche joined the game passionate for Porsche.
+xlf xie We share the same memories... Day and night in front of the television, goosebumps, feeling it deep in the stomach. I can only urge you to get there... Have a seat in the grandstand and feel the "Le Mans Family" literally celebrating the race. Have a signature from top drivers and take pictures with them. Have a listen and hear people wearing Toyota, Audi, whatever jackets congratulating warmly Porsche for its overall victory. Have no sleep at all and just enjoy the race. I have been fortunate enough to get there since two years in a row. Where do you think I'll be from 12th of June till Monday 20th of June '16 :)?
Every year, again just new tears of joy. Thank you Porsche for keeping the passion alive. Thank you for making the marque available to us, the general public. Porsche a bargain at any prize!
woow.. what a documentary.. what a documentary.. i would say.. indeed the Best team and the Best company.. love ur spirit and passion @porsche.. A big thank u for making such an incredible documentary.. hope that one day my dream to work in porsche will come true..
I watched the le man's every year online, I'm hoping that next year I will have finished my car and be able to drive there to spectate and party in person. such an epic achievement to finish the race, let alone dominate two years running.
+Bahamuttiamat Not really. The interviews center much more strongly on the management, and focus on the entire team's path, not just a single race. Excellent film, but not really in the same vein. That said... Truth In 24 should have been a documentary series, chronicling teams during the race.
Big Audi fan here. I started watching Le Mans in 2011, with Audi's first R18 winning the 24 hours Le Mans against Peugeot. When Porsche announced their "return", I was really excited. I recall checking their website about the news and updates. I was wondering, how they would go against Audi. Then they pulled out a V4 against Audi's V6 and Toyota's V8 LMP1s. It was amazing seeing a V4 keeping up just fine. I could tell they struggle in 2014, especially getting out of the corners and speeding up, but they kept improving over the years. Then finally, they best the Audis and Toyotas. It was amazing! This year's Le Mans (2017) is going to be very exciting as well. In my opinion, I believe Toyota has perfected their car this year. It seems faster and more reliable--they might win this year. Either way, I am excited!
I have been driving Porsche for 27 years and love the cars. I suggest anyone who has watched the Audi Le Mans film "Truth In 24" will find this film a disappointing effort from Porsche.
hoping to see another documentary for the 2016 season, Silverstone starts tomorrow. also myself being a Toyota fan they haven't been a success in the 2015 season but that's only because Porsche and audi had a better hybrid system and could always dominate Toyota. but this year, this season Toyota have made a new hybrid system to be near the same speed as the Porsche and audi, this could either turn out really well or really bad. I'm hoping to see what le mans will be like this year :)
I wanted to like this, but it felt more like an extended commercial than a true documentary. Truth is 24 is more on par for what would truly capture Porsche.
I love what goes down on the circuit de la sarthe, porsches win and whoever wins. however this documentary is nothing like audi's every second count 1 and 2. This one is just a total glorification
Super! Ein toller Erfolg für Porsche und für ihre Fans. Aber auf Deutsch wär's auch für die Fans, die des Englischen nicht so mächtig sind, viel besser.
I watched to learn more about Porsche LMP design but I was very disappointed. The entire video is one big cheerleader movie about we tried and won. Even if you want to find great racing footages, you won't find them here either.
