Houston Texans are the perfect blueprint. U trade with the Vikings, take Fashanu/Fahatanu at 11, AD Mitchell at 23 and trade 34 back up to end of the first and take Penix. Thats a way better team now and in 5 years than taking Maye and like Lad McConkey at 34. And you get a 2025 1st?! Anyone thinking they should stay and take Maye at 3 after what happened with Mac are just staring at the flashing lights of the 3 pick. Such an easy decision to trade back if u can get 3 1sts. Vikings will sit Maye, have no other picks till the 4th round and are projected at 6.5 wins next year… so potentially a top 10 pick. What are we even talking about here?

I believe everyone was in agreement at the end of last year, that our defense was elite, and Mike Onwenu is a good offensive lineman despite our O-line being awful. It's not controversial at all. Keeping the defense together is very good thing.

Did Troy Aikman not get killed his first year? Did Peyton and the Colts not struggle his first year? There are plenty of QB’s who had it tough the first year or two, who went on to do great things in their careers.

Kraft firing Bill was a mistake..

Sitting a #3 pick is not an option. It's not a remotely similar situation to KC's or GB's. The effect of the difference is the opportunity cost. You could fix your line and add a premium WR this year and have a situation much better for a kid in the next year or 2 versus taking a QB and throwing him into one of the 2 worst situations in the NFL. This is maximizing the chance of a bust at 3.

Rams in 2016 went 4-12. The next year with McVay they went 11-5. Rebuild don’t take long if you have the right coach

What Zo should have said to Mark was the danger of sitting whoever they pick, is the only way to learn how to play football is to actually play football. If you sit a guy a year or two then play him he will still take those rookie lumps (if he's not that good to begin with) and what if after that you then determine he's just not that good, you've wasted 3 or 4 years and you start the cycle all over again. This is why teams stay bad for decades.

Agree with zolak. Pick the best player in draft at 3 regardless of position. This should not be QB because it will take years where if you take a Marvin Harrison you have an immediate impact generational player

Spend on O Line in free agency. They are always available. Improve the team with the draft this year, you may not pick this high next year and it will not be this good and may not be as deep. Try to get a true WR1 through trade, like B. Aiyuk.

A team can easily jump you at 4 or 5 for McCarthy. If they’re convicted about McCarthy just take him at 3. This whole notion of you can’t draft a QB at 3 with this roster is ridiculous. Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre, Tom Brady, Steve McNair, Patrick Mahomes etc all road the bench their first year plus. Even Steve Young and Jim Plunkett road the bench for a long time in the middle of their careers after getting killed playing too early. If our #3 pick rides the bench for a year or two and we have to watch crappy football as they get better, then so be it if the product is once again good in the end.
