Wow!! I just received my Tachyon Shaft from you guys and allthough I haven't got to fish with it as of yet I have put some time in with it in the back yard. I'm blown away! This thing is very sensitive, super light and balanced yet it's very powerful. Another thing I noticed is how easy it is to place your lure Acurately. If your a person who does a lot of pitching and pitch skipping this Rod Rocks! Hats off Megabass!! I've gotta save some more cash so I can get the x bites.. Thanks for your great customer service and great videos,
I've fished the Orochi XX series and liked them then I purchased my first Destroyer P5, the Tequilla Baccarac to be exact. That rod changed every thing I've ever experienced with a baitcasting rod. The Destroyer P5 series is so very light for it's power rating. I plan on replacing my jerkbait rod and my deep crankbait rod with the Destroyer P5 Oneten stick and the Madbull rod. Once they become available.
This is the review you need to watch to make good decisions on these type of rods. Great information!! It's difficult to sometimes make a good choice just by reading specs. Thank you!
How have I gone so long without coming across This fishing world for the 1%. Thank you so much The Hook Up for your Passion, I see why you guys love what you do. JDM just seems to have a Magical Aura to it.
I already dived into P5 Series i just ordered SD bati casting, and got Wind buster & One ten stick are incredible action & light. Certainly bought because of this vidéo . Anytime i need precise feedback about megabass goods i come to The Hook up T channel. Long life to your business Ben ^^
Just got the new Madbull! It’s absolutely incredible!!! Don’t let that F5 rating fool ya! It fishes more like a medium to fast taper definitely a true Medium-Heavy. Pretty much any application 3/4oz and down is doable!
Tequila baccarat - INSANELY great rod .. it’s the rods of rods .. if god fished .. that’s the one he would use ( 😉 ) gotta be the best rod invented since the word invention came into ..
I've watched this video a few times and have recently bought the Killer Code. I have not caught anything on it yet (PA) but I have tried different baits on it, cast it, skipped it (wow!) and am blown away by the versatility so far. Could you do a review on the rest of the line-up in the P5 Destroyer series? There is still really not much out there on these. Thanks in advance!
@@monstblitz Right on, I river fish a bunch. Typically like a shorter rod for jerkbaits, but I’m liking the moderate action for top water which I throw on ton on the river.
I have the Bait Finesse rod paired with an Aldebaran BFS. I wish I had 2 more of this combo. It's a combo I always take with me - every single time. The sensitivity and casting performance is incredible. For reference, I own 3 NRX+.
I'm considering buying the Bait Finesse or the Elesle (sp?) The 3.5 power. I am wanting a jerkbait rod for small Jbaits like the X-Nanahans x-80 trick darters etc. Is the Bait finesse stiff enough to work a small jerkbait? Right now I'm using a Dibyns Sierra 701 so a 7 ft? 1 power. It's OK but not quite stiff enough to get the Bait to move alot if I want it to. Works great for super cold water slack line snapping, where the Bait only moves 8-10 inches though. Great for crappie jerkbaiting as well.
Great Vid, very informative! I can’t find any videos on RU-vid for the new Daiwa Steez bottom contact rod. Can’t think of any one more qualified than you guys to do one. Looking forward to watching the channel
Thanks for doing these videos. Lots of good info. Could you recommend the best reels to match with Megabass Windbuster, Tcquila Baccarac and Landsat? Appreciate your help.
Just got the baby plugging from you guys. Excited to finally try a mega bass rod out and see what all the hype is about. The workers there were super excited for me lol, I think it’s cause I told them my drop shot rod was a 30.00 trout rod lol. In my defense that rod has caught like over 100 fish alone and I don’t get out much.
Hello Ben, let me start off by saying that I love how informative you’re video's are. I learn so much off you’re content, thank you! I do have a question and hope I can pick you’re brain, I currently own a 2020 Calcutta conquest DC and was thinking about either the MadBull or Super Destroyer for lipless crankbait, Swimbaits and squarebills. Which one would be best for those baits or do you have any other better suggestions other than these rods? Thank you!
Hey Ben, how do you like the Z crank elseil rod? I’m thinking of getting that one for smaller hard baits like 3/8 oz square bills, shallow cranks, top water. Might even go up to 5/8oz with all the above baits. Is this rod lighter in power to a Gen 1 orochi XX flatside special? I know the ratings show it’s a F3.5 vs F4.5 on the FSS. How do they compare on the water?
I do enjoy and learn a lot from you guys, specificly basing on your advice, I'm ordering a Windbuster rod ... can you tell me which size spinning reel do I pair it with? Could you help me please ?
How does the 110 stick compare to the USA Destroyer 110 special? My big concern is that it's 6'5 and in clear water we really need to get Jerkbaits far out.
Lovely video is the real seat lock nut all steel or is it gluded to a plastic locking bush like the previous destroyer ,the glue on the plastic bush always broke loose so I stopped buying them please advise thanks 👍
Hi. If you only have the option to pick one between Mad Bull/Super Destroyer (The carbon handle obviously 🤭🤣) for Great Hunting Minnow 48s (Lighter than rod rating), which one will you take?
Would a mad bull be good for walking topwater frog ? I understand it’s good for treble hook applications but curious how the hook set would be for walking frogs
Hi there! Love this information and review of these exciting new rods. I was wondering if you could shed some light at some point soon on the lighter end of the casting series. I want to purchase one of the three (pop x stock, cliffhanger thrilling, Kasumi six eleven) but have t found much in depth information regarding the strengths and differences of the two. I fish mostly small hardbaits and finesse swimbaits and am looking to get into the bfs and want to find a rod for bass. Would probably choose something lighter for trout. Any light you can shed on these lighter action baitcasters would be much appreciated. Thank you!
Thank you for the detailed and informative review !Keep up the good work !I have question about the best Destroyer P5 for twitching HEAVY Minnows(e.g Megabass Kanata 160 ) from 1 oz up to 1.25 oz .Which one do you prefer and why ?Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation !
Thanks for watching! In the P5 line the Tequila Baccarac or the Madbull are really the only 2 options for the larger Jerkbaits. The Madbull is more of a traditional action, like a diablo spec R, but the Tequila Baccarac is such a cool rod, I'd probably throw it on that.
@@thehookuptackle_usa Thank you for your excellent assistance.I should be glad to receive details of P5 -6'9'' Super Destroyer .Thank you for your time and attention to this matter .Best regards .
Many thanks for this video. One question I have. How is Super Destroyer for jerking? I’m looking to buy this rod for jerk baits like Oneten, Oneten Magnum, 128 Rest SL from Gan Craft, lures with weight from 1/2 to 2/3 oz.
I’am looking for a spinning rod 7’6” med-med light fast what do you think what rod is better for spinner baits whopper flopper and top water I need one for that Application 3 -1 rod
I don't want to sound rude, but your website doesn't match your showroom. I was a little hesitant to order my expride from your site because I never heard of you guys and the website wasn't that great. But after watching these videos and seeing your shop, I am taken back how nice it is and how much good stuff you guys have..
How's the handle on that spinning rod?? I see you got rid of the foregrip. I like to choke up on my spinning rods. Just concerned it might not be as comfortable? And the blank diameter on the Kirasame? Thicker than the Addermine??
Hey Corey - The grip on the spinning definitely takes some getting used to, but once you find your groove with it it's super comfortable and sensitive. As far as diameter, they're about the same as the Addermine.
What guides are on them ? How will they do passing a connection knot through them ? One other question, how’s that Landsat compare to the legendary NRX 822 DSR for Drop Shot ?
Titanium guides. I've had no problem with knots! The Landsat is a weird one for me. I don't personally like it, I find that it's not as sensitive as some of the other rods like Windbuster. I don't like the NRX 822 DSR either, so it might just be my preferences. However, a lot of people find the Landsat to be their favorite dropshot rod, above NRX. So I think it's one that has to be tried to see.
The Hook Up Tackle this line speaks for itself but you are also a good spokesperson for the brand. I’ve moved away in recent times from Megabass to NRX and Conquest but I will be in touch about possibly getting 6 of the P5’s
Picked up; F7-70X Tequila Baccarac as a shorter Frog rod than my current Expride 7’ 3” XH, F5-68X Blade for Chatterbait as this is my favorite technique but despite trying plenty of rods, just haven’t found the one, fingers crossed. Also coming Wednesday is a F3-610X Bait Finesse for Senkos and Neko without the need to use a spinning rod and finally a F2-66XS Whippett. The last one is rather indulgent. The kiddos are getting into pan fish and this is my panfish rod. Jackall Flick Shake for baby bass. Was tempted to try the F5-70X MadBull for Lipless but have the IMX 845 CBR that I’m quite happy with
For Dedicated chatter bait fishing the way we fish here in the USA, Megabass doesn't really make the right rod in Destroyer. The Valkyrie lineup has much better options for Chatterbaits.
Nice viedeo! I need your help. I m from Germany and i search a realy special rod. A spinning rod between 7 and 8 foot withe a soft tip. I want to fish carolina rigs withe a free sliding bullet from 7 Gramm (0,25 oz) up to 10 Gramm (0,35 oz) and lures around 5 Gramm (0,17 oz) in maximun (leed + lure) weigh around 5/8 oz (18 Gramm). i want a soft tip, so that the fish (big perch) dont feel any presure from the rod. do you hav any advice for me?
So, you're saying I need to get rid of that new Blackjack rod I got a couple months ago (I haven't gotten to use it yet) and get the Tequila Baccarac instead? Damn the bad luck! LOL!
Of course not silly. The Blackjack is still the deal for glide baits and bigger baits. The Tequila Baccarac is more of a multi use rod that used to be reserved for a rod like the Faust that was rated up to 2 oz, but the new P5 gives it a much broader capability!
