We are Eleise and Lawrence & Nyh - A young family from the south of England. Like many people the pandemic gave us a shake up! While watching hours of Mark Weins in Thailand - We had our “Ah ha” Moment. We decided we wanted to travel.
Enjoying working for ourselves, we didn’t want to give up our business and decided it was entirely possible for us to do both. So we set about making it our lifestyle to work in the UK for a month, and then travel for a month - month on, month off…. until our little boy Nyh goes to school! We want to inspire people that you don’t have to up-sticks, sell all your belongings and leave behind family to be able to see the world.

Go to most popular beaches on a Sunday... Its busy. It's part of our culture. If you lived there and worked Mon to Fri, what day would you go to the beach? 😂

It’s within Mauritian culture to spend time on the beach with family and have food etc. I personally find this to be a great thing about Mauritian culture!

Weather is much better in the North 😊 Scuba Diving is also Fantastic in the North. Also Nightlife is Epic in the North 😊

Grand Baie is just a tourist trap, locals don't usually go there. I love the South West and South coastal areas. Le Morne is also a really nice area to visit :) I love that you're not afraid to eat where the locals do, those are the most authentic ways to experience the Mauritian life :)

there's a smaller better beach if you head towards the Royal Palm Hotel, you may have to find your way through the rocks 20.006123, 57.578219

Am Mauritian - very nice to share your honest opinions 100% agree Grand Baie is a shit hole nowadays Overexploited with no planning And it will get worse Next time don’t even think of visiting Mauritius again 👍 stay safe
