Hi Everyone, Hungry Curator here at Hearst Ranch Winery in San Simeon, California. I had been looking forward to visiting this winery for quite some time, and I was thrilled that we could fit it into our schedule after visiting Hearst Castle. The staff's warm welcome added to the charm of our visit, and It turned out to be the most relaxing escape we were seeking, making this birthday getaway weekend truly memorable.
The Hearst Ranch tasting room is just down the hill from the iconic Hearst Castle and overlooking a breathtaking bay. They offer Legacy flights to all general visitors and the tasting Fee of 28 dollars is waived with the purchase of two bottles. And the wine itself was simply delicious so of course we had to go home with some! We started with the Chardonnay before moving onto the reds.
We opted for the picnic tables outside and We had a great view of the beach and Memorial Beach Pier. The picturesque scenery, and the sound of crashing waves in the background, created the perfect ambiance to our visit.
The San Simeon tasting room has high ceilings and ample seating inside. They have a gift store, with the option of purchasing some meats and cheese plates, and even had photographs and information on display about Hearst Castle and its grounds, and the surrounding Central Coast area inside.
I highly recommend this winery to anyone traveling along California’s Central Coast. It might be easy to miss if you're not aware of it, so plan your visit accordingly and Don't pass up the opportunity to experience Hearst Ranch Winery.
