Thank You For Coming To Waveland MS To Meet My Son Grant! He Was Super Happy To Meet Yall! Next Time Yall In Town He Wants To Have Lunch With Yall Your More than Welcome To Come Back Happy Crabbing With the New Traps(:
We enjoyed the visit with your son, he's a very polite and nice guy, I'm sure the traps aren't nearly as nice as the ones he makes. Looking forward to visiting again. Thanks a lot for Watching and your comments.
I loved your video. I have wondered how you put the loop on the balls that mark your traps. I really loved your demonstration of splicing a line and had not seen that done since I was a kid. I was too young to understand how it was done but your demonstration made it easy. Sure enough you could tie a knot but splicing does look much neater and I think is stronger in the long run. I cannot wait to see Joyce's anniversary traps in action. What a fabulous gift.
I enjoy working with rope, it takes a little more time than knots but to me it's worth it, also you can make your own dock lines the same way instead of buying them. We really appreciate you watching, and your comments.
Thanks a lot Rowdy, one of Joyce's red traps was stolen the second time we set it, I replaced it with a yellow one. Thanks again for Watching our videos
Great video! I just found 2 crab traps at a thrift store for $12 each so I will be rigging them today. I will attempt to splice them like you did. That loop at the top is great advice.
I love this video (I love all of your videos) especially because watching you rig your crab pots is fascinating, educational, and some how very relaxing. I have to ask this question; retired Navy?
Glad you enjoy our videos. Not the Navy, I was in the Army and worked on commercial fishing boats when I was young, also I have a Captains license issued by the Coast Guard.
Great video. Very informational. Also a Florida native. Me and my sons are going to start crabbing. Age of 8. I was wondering what gauge wire is the crab traps?
When I was young I worked on different types of commercial fishing boats after that I owned an Ornamental Iron Shop In New Jersey, moved to Florida and opened a window repairing shop. Thanks a lot for Watching and your comments.
Loved your video. I was surprised that the haul line is tied to the rebar on the bottom of the trap. Is there a trick to keeping the rebar side down on the bottom if you lower the trap that way?
If you cut the Zip Ties at the Base with a Razor Knife or Knife it will not leave that nubby Tail that will cut you. I like your Branding Iron. Enjoyed it
@The Old Couple Outdoors,I have two traps similar to yours.do I need to open the mouth wider or just leave it as is because I'm always getting small crabs in them and never big ones.
I heard you Jersey guys are shrewder than Arab horse traders but we need to get down to business...The young lady cooks better than the late Julia Child, fishes better than Roland Martin, pulls crab traps like a seasoned pro and does a great job with the video camera...How much will it take to buy Joyce? Another great video btw...
N throw the tape on the ground!!!😂 lmao smh i can tell Lady Joyce has her hands FULL w u Mr. Sam!! 😂 smh lmao ?? Oh? So wait? U all didn't retire ....n then move south?? U2 were smart enough to leave the frozen tundra while u were still young enough to work n be movers n shakers then?? Ok! Cool! That makes more sense actually. Who the hell WANTS to half freeze to death every winter! Lol Jerseys usually colder than Bmore n even Bmore is cold enough to make me wanna live in a warm climate.
