My brother in law is getting married in a month. In the last 2 weeks their reception venue burned down, their priest decided to go on holiday, their photographer bailed, her hairdresser left their salon and the boys suit place also burned down. Weddings never quite go to plan. You guys will be ok, I promise! Speaking 7 years on from my wedding, you don’t remember the disasters ❤

My aunt and uncle got married when I was seven yo. They didn't only bring both sets of parents but also their children, the brides brother (my dad) and our family on their honeymoon.. This was in 1993 and she brings up how much she regrets doing that TO THIS DAY! So yeah...

If you´re having your honeymoon on the same place as the wedding, chances are pretty big of that happening. Might meet other guests too lol People like to combine their vacation if they have someone´s wedding too. Also this might sound cheezy but when your parents are gone you might regret this reaction

I'm having a destination wedding rhis year and planned everything in advance for guests, got a room block for them, built a wedding website and sent Paperless Post digital invitation after 2 mo ths of getting married to avoid tour scenario. It was A LOT of work upfront but cut down on confusion later on. Good luck with the rest of the planning!

Giving notice to register your wedding isn’t to check if you’re a real couple. It’s to register your intention to marry and to state you are legally free to marry, i.e you aren’t already married to someone else, not old enough etc. And this is then posted at the registry office where you register your wedding so people can object to your marriage if they know of a reason why you can’t legally be wed.

They ask you questions about your names, occupation, parents names and those answers are used on the wedding certificate. We weren’t asked questions like how do you like your cuppa tea made to test if we knew each other etc. I believe the purpose is if you can legally marry.
