Welcome!
We are a homesteading, homeschooling family of 7. Due to recent events (job loss/career change, health issues, rising food costs, etc.) we are having a hard time making ends meet despite our best efforts at frugality. So we are tapping into our local food banks to help us feed our family. Come along as I show you what we are blessed with, what we add to it via grocery store and garden, and how I use it all to nourish our bodies.

Pretty much every restaurant in my town ran a PI day special lol. It always gives me a giggle because I love a good play on words.

Instead of crack chicken just call it party chicken or potluck chicken. I could see this served at a party or a potluck .

I had to laugh when you said "this is not what I had planned for tonight", that is me every night. God bless you for being able to pull together a good tasting and nutritious meal for your family of five kids. I have enough trouble just "winging it" for one person! I'm eating some markdown from Kroger cousin Willie's kettle corn and then my supper will be a 20 count shrimp ring from Kroger. I'm a household of one and I never plan ahead

Great meals of the week loved the pie for pie day today I made my kids green pancakes for St. Patties day my husband thought I was crazy but my teenagers loved it we topped it with coolwhip and gold sprinkles. I have been spending time in the yard getting things cleaned up and making up the garden beds so that way its ready when we don't have anymore frost here in Tennessee take care and be safe and have a great week.

My mom used to make a dish similar to the one that you made with the green beans potatoes and sausage but in place of the sausage cheese diced up ham would also add some ham base or chicken base if we had it to make it more of a soup consistency we absolutely loved it and I still love this now

Such good ideas this week! We call the crack chicken creamy ranch chicken. I dont like the crack part either. Did you see KFC now has chizza? I saw that driving by and made me think of you. Hope your week is good! Thanks for sharing!

So what exactly did you eat for dinner this week . If the kids don’t like spaghetti make baked spaghetti mix cheese in like a baked ziti. I make a broccoli cheese casserole with spaghetti. I mix broccoli, 2 cans of cream of chicken soup , a cup of mayo ,Add curry powder Mix it all up with the spaghetti and top it with cheddar cheese bake at 375 for about 30 to 45 minutes. Just a. different idea .

The bank my daughter works at they all took a pie in to work My mom is in memory care for Pi Day they loaded up plates of Cool Whip and the residence got to throw or put into the faces of the workers and then have pie My mom has dementia and she had a good time I hadn't seen her smile or laugh in such a long time and I'm so glad I was able to videotape that I still tear up just thinking about that. Bingo is something my mom has always enjoyed so I volunteer 5 to 6 days a week and run the bingo game

Why don’t you choose another recipe for your spaghetti? There is so many good ones out there and obviously your family isn’t enjoying the one you make. There is always different ways to change it up. I don’t need a recipe for mine and its delicious but others do so I would make a change. Sometimes the same thing over and over gets old fast!
