Welcome!
We are a homesteading, homeschooling family of 7. Due to recent events (job loss/career change, health issues, rising food costs, etc.) we are having a hard time making ends meet despite our best efforts at frugality. So we are tapping into our local food banks to help us feed our family. Come along as I show you what we are blessed with, what we add to it via grocery store and garden, and how I use it all to nourish our bodies.

Hello great meals of the week! I have been fasting daily usually 6pm to noon or 1 the next day it has been helping me to control my eating for losing weight I have psoriatic arthrtis with both knees affected so I am trying to lose weight to help my knees I have lost 13 pounds in 3 weeks I have also been eating keto to try to help my allergies. I like the craizens in cookies🍪 and muffins🧁. I collected a couple pounds of persimmons this fall, froze some, dried some. I baked 24 minimuffins with the frozen and ate them all in 2 days. I’m going to try the dried next. Have you tried your dried apple oatmeal cookies or muffins. Might have to chop them into smaller pieces. 🍏

Tonight I used your idea of making meatloaf with half beef and half sausage. Last year when my husband got a deer we ended up with a lifetime supply of sausage and my husband is the only one who likes it as sausage I'm trying to think out of the box with it. My husband liked it so thanks for the inspo! My ground meat hating boys had commodity fish sticks 😂

Haha I am not a big deer meat fan. Luckily all my kids don't mind it.

@@weepingwillowhomestead it's not my favorite either but I'll eat it. I was given some moose stew meat at a food share I went to last week. That's in the fridge thawing so I can cook it. My 8yo is excited. I'll be praying it's not gross. 😉
