Every time there's an Ash mini quiz, can we please cut to a little transition "Mini Quiz" pic, with a sound bite of Rosie saying, "Wh wh wh what are the rules?" as the intro? 😁
Y'all put me in high spirits today watching the stream. Watching Rosie break really did it. 🤣Absolute fun overall. Gotta say my worst mistake in gaming decisions was buying a game without checking the reviews first. When I was in the service about a decade ago, a buddy sold me his PS2. I went out to buy some games for it from one of the game stores in the area. I made the mistake of buying Rebel Raiders on a whim. Played the game; things were fine... Unfortunately, I hit this one challenge in the game where you fly their version of a VTOL plane. You had 60 seconds to take off, hover, fly a ring around the base, hover, and land. I learned later on most players noped out of the game altogether; if you didn't pass the challenges, you couldn't progress further into the game. [The challenges were intertwined with the missions (e.g., mission, challenge, mission, challenge, etc.).] Bagged it up and took the game back for Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan Conflict. Not planning on making that mistake again. Thank you so much for all you do. Still subscribed.
Would love to see you guys do an Access D&D campaign sometime. You could even use the characters from BG3, as their character sheets are actually available to download :)
I just love how invested Ash is in her BG3 character. It was so heartwarming to see! I don't understand how Dave failed to romance someone in ME2 because the community is always talking about being ninja-manced lol.
Rosie with a D in it - got to be Dosie (Dozy) - would be perfect for a Dwarf character, with low perception & insight - should be a town guard, who keeps missing crimes / intruders they should be stopping - a big dumb Fighter feels like it fits the name nicely.
My worst gaming mistake was all the decisions I made in heavy rain which resulted in Sean drowning in a gutter because I was unable to save him. Still haunts me 13 years later
#PodSquad Watching the podcast has become part of the Saturday morning ritual for my wife and I. Several things resonated with us this week. Several of you talked about getting your significant others into gaming. I grew up as a PC gamer. My wife did not. I got her into that, and then we got into console games together. At this point, she is by far the bigger gamer, and I mostly just get to watch her play. Her urging is what lead to us buying a PS5. Both of us are big JRPG fans, particularly Final Fantasy fans. After getting the platinum in FF15 for the second time, and FF16, she has begun to work her way through the pixel remasters. Because we were late to console gaming, we never owned a PS1. We did own many PS1 games for use on our PS2. Unfortunately FF5 and 6 were not properly backwards compatible, so while we owned them, we were never able to play them. She has platinumed FF1 and 2, and was in the middle of FF3 when you posted this episode. You also discussed the character names you use in RPGs. As any real RPG player knows, the character creation screen is half the battle in a proper RPG. Final Fantasy 3 does not have default names, and a mere two days ago she was agonizing what to call her four Warriors of Light. Ultimately, she went with Rob, Ash, Dave, and Rosie. I'm writing this a couple of days after watching the podcast. By now, Rob, Ash, Dave, and Rosie have saved the world and she is well into Final Fantasy IV.
I never role play in games. But in baldurs gate 3 I decided to embrace it. My character is basically a baldurs gate green arrow. I miss the TV show so this will do instead 😂.
Introducing the kids to games. Me and my husband have separate consoles and tvs so we can both play. Now we end up giving up both so the kids can play together when theres no local co op.
Worst thing I did was play Kingdom Hearts from start to finish without changing the Keyblade once (I had missed the part where it explains this mechanic lol). Basically created Elden Ring before it was even thought up. Was so happy when finally beat the last boss…then found out on a later replay that I could upgrade the Keyblade. Never felt so foolish haha!
I made this same mistake as a kid (to be fair, not native english speaker) as well only I realised it around the infamous boss in hollow bastion with that certain long cutscene prior where everyone who played the game on ps2 when there was no skip scene now knows every word of that scene by heart. Needless to say the final stretch of the game became much easier in comparision. I did however also not fully understand/not use plenty of other mechanics, like using wind magic or proper equipment.. So I still had a major struggle with the waves of heartless before the final safe point.
@@amberanime ohhh that scene…I think you just unsurfaced something I had buried deep away in my mind haha! Damn, I think I could recite it word for word haha.
Worst Decision? I accidentally loaded an old Dark Souls III save file and lost forty hours of grinding and covenant item farming, ugh. Also, on first playthrough of Final Fantasy X I got all the way to Zanarkand and then instead of setting up a new game for my then partner, I saved over my file.
What I love the most about BG3 is that they did not cut any corners in trying to appeal to a mainstream audience yet it STILL is a massive success because we can all tell how much care went into this game.
Yeah, pretty much the same problem in Mass Effect as Dave. My Shepard was nice and polite to everyone and no one wanted him as a love interest for two games. Lol And then Kaidan took pity. I think my worst gaming decision - also Mass Effect related - is saving Ashley on Virmire. After three playthroughs of always sacrificing her (not even a hard decision) I became curious after all how she would develop in later games. Definitely not worth it...
A name for Rosie could be Rosetta or maybe Roszeth. I recently started reading a Brandon Sanderson book where one of the characters is called Szeth which I quite liked.
Stormlight Archive. Good series, you should read all his cosmere books. I recommend reading Warbreaker before you get too far into Stormlight Archive, though. You can still fully enjoy it without doing so, but reading Warbreaker after made me realize that there was a little bit of crossover.
Turns out Rosie says ‘seen’ the exact same way her brother does… tbh when she arrived I couldn’t believe that the sister of a RU-vidr I had been watching for years suddenly showed up on one of my fave game news channels.
The first time I platinumed GTA3 I didn’t do all of the rampages or hidden packages in Portland before going on to Staunton Island. Trying to collect things in Saint Marks, that’s a nightmare.
XCOM was the first thing I thought of when it comes to Dave's gaming mistakes, like when he picked up Corporal Rob's corpse instead of the VIP on stream then running out of turns.
I always struggle to be bad in RPGs, so I created Tangerine (from Bullet Train) in Skyrim, and it's made it easier to make the bad decisions. Also a lot of fun RPing as a very, very angry man 😂😂
Can’t think of anything in game off the top of my head but worst decision in real life was buying a ps5 when it first came out off someone off Facebook marketplace and never getting it. Couldn’t get my money back either
I will never understand why people genuine want to date and especially sleep around in games unless there is some sort or item or perk associated with it
Dave. Buy another ps5 and TV. Trust me. It’s better. I got tired of playing splitscreen with my daughter and bought her her own so we now have 2 tv’s beside each other and it’s great.
Yeah... I was too kind to the blue alien woman in ME 1 at first cause I felt sorry for her... the thing is I was playing as a woman... then I found out the hidden achivements and then I cringed... and well I just let the game get on with it as I walked away and made a cuppa tea, lol. ; D
@@mr.tamoshanter50 Opinions vary I guess, I'd say being a mild bell-end would be more like trying to invade someone who has said repeatedly they don't like to be invaded simply to get their 5 seconds of attention on the internet. Maybe that's just me though.
@@mr.tamoshanter50 You're roasting me? Well this is embarrassing. I'm actually good mate, I had no intention of leaving a snarky comment until you implied that my bell was shaped like an end. My initial comment was a light jab, poking fun. You're the one that took it personally and started with the petty insults. My bad though, I've learned my lesson.
Clues that are not only obscure... but lies! Spyro in the past... maybe... Star wars: the force awakens set in the future!?!? The series has always started "A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away..."! Shame on you Ashen! Shame!!! ;p
Buying a cheap game... and then finding game bugs and trophys that won't pop, but the games won't get fixed as the Dev's used the game as a money grab... FUNBOX MEDIA has a lot to answer for! Stay away from Funbox Media! The game I bought was Strike Force Terrorist Hunt 2... you can't load you're so called saved game, the game can crash, it skips a certain mission so you can't get a certain trophy, the further you go the more bugs and lag you get... I did a full painful speedrun through to get all the trophys after noticing there is no load game... just missing that mission the game skipped over... so my list is incomplete and so is my life. I found out too late that most of their games are buggy and glitchy and people feel ripped off. : (
