Album named 17 because it would been his last year until he commits suicide. X: "When I turned 13, my wish was to be dead at the age of 18". Album was produced this way because it was to show how he felt at the age of 17, emotions are everywhere and depression and anxiety can really effect how you're feeling so quickly. I hate that he wanted to die but when he starts to get better he gets killed...

I listened to every single ep/mixtape or album that X ever made... But 17 still hits so fucking hardest.. that meaning behind this album and that fact its dedicated for Jocelyn is so cool... Love this album and also love you two ❤️ R.I.P X 💔

the thing about X is, there are different periods in his music. You can see in his early pieces like sippin tea in yo hood or look at me that he used to be very aggressive and hold a lot of anger within. Then came a period of pain and heartbrokenness, which is also when 17 released, and when he became really big it was a mix between sad and uptype music like on moonlight. And i know me and millions of others were in a dark place when we found out about X and i can say he’s helped me back into the light :)

this album is one of the BEST by far in the world in my opinion, its an actual masterpiece rip x 🪐

I'd recommend listening to his older albums, single songs and the future albums. 17's reason for being so sad is pretty much him singing/rapping about his pain growing up. His mother was being assaulted and he had to stab them in order to save his mother [around six] He came home from school one day to find his uncle dead from suicide [7-8 years old] He never got attention from his mother unless she was telling him off which resulted him in getting in trouble just to get her attention. His father was locked up and deported. He frequently moved around homes with family members, constantly moved schools and got in fights. He ended up with his ex-girlfriend making false allegations [which she later said were lies] against him, which ruined his life and caused him to get locked up. He held himself responsible for the death of Jocelyn Flores. Overall, his life is just very sad. He always tried to give back to everyone and make their lives great, while he was living in a car he gave all the money he made at a show to a homeless man.

I know every X song possibly ever made by him. He was my favorite artist/song writer. He touched my heart and every song I felt like I connected with him. It breaks my heart till this day about his passing. No matter what he will always be my top 1. No song of his is trash and I can say that with all my heart.

You can only really understand this album if you are going through shit, I have personally not had the best mental health with going through mental hospitals so this hit me very hard with talking about suicide as I have tried to end my life

One of THE best albums of all time. A genre of its own, never going to be close to being matched or replicated, Revenge being one of the best songs EVER.
