nice tales ,i used to net up in hawickon the teviot ,had hundreds of salmon ,also netted junction pool on 2 occasions ,33 salmon one night 26 on the other occasion ,a long way to travel back then but worth it ,only came up your way for 1 season as the SAS were helping the river wye owners out at the time ,better pickings on the wye a average of 50 plus salmon per night best ever was 122 in a night ,they were good times back in the 80s , your 100 % correct about night time wild life ,most people miss out on seeing it all .
🍻 cheers, thanks for watching, lots of skills involved with both , poachers and bailiffs , cat and mouse game , both love the wildlife and Country, look out for more of my fishy tales to come, I have loads true tales about one my best poaching friends, my dear friend Jack.👌
Ha, ha , been a River Bailiff for just over 30 years with , lost count the amount of poachers I helped arrest and convict , check out my conviction rate in the court records covering central scotland , I feel more at home at night than during the day, What a joke 😃 Forth District Salmon Fishery Board

I enjoy a mooch with the catty through parts of the Panmure est. (Angus) hopefully getting within 30 yards of a pheasant or two. I gave up on nighttime activities a few years back. (honestly I did)
