Thanks for a great review. Btw, the clamp looks fine to me. It needs to be a bit open from the inside, so the holes will be aligned when tightened. The clamp jaws should have a small gap when fully tightened, you just need to have the right bar spacer.
I have used the stem mount, out front mount and motorbike mount and they were great. I used the bicycle and motorbike for commuting, on rough roads, and the phone has never come off!
I have the new Quadlock MagSafe case for my iPhone and it charges on my MagSafe charger perfectly. I realize this video is 10 months old so perhaps it’s a more recent adaptation but mag safe does seem to be making the efforts to allow their cases to be wireless charging friendly. Also the newer cases have a flush back and no longer protrude awkwardly. It’s definitely worth checking out to see if they have what you need for whatever device you use
Hey, thanks for your comment. I already have it with MAGsafe because I changed to an iPhone but after having made this video. I will adress it in case I make another video about it! Cheers :)
The clamp is probably intentionally a few mm apart because its expected you will have the rubber insert and there will be compression, so its most likely designed to never be fully closed.
Do you use your smartphone exclusively instead of a head unit? I just got into cycling and have my old pixel 5 laying around, so I was thinking about using it instead of buying a cycling computer.
Hey, yes I would definitely recommend using your phone especially when being new to the sport. There are great Apps like Komoot or Strava which you can use. The only big advantage of a cycling computer is that it lasts longer but I have never managed to run out of battery on a tour even when going 100k. And you can allways upgrade if you want but I'd say a phone is the best when getting started because you don't need to buy anything extra. Hope I could help! ;)
I haven’t had a problem up to now, even on my iPhone with a glas rear and I ride also on rough terrain. But when going down trails I do tend to put it in my pocket ;)
Hey, that is a good question. Since I am not in the BMX sport I don't really know all the different types of handlebars you might use but for the flatter ones it should fit and even for ones that have a lot of upsweep I can think of the mount which QuadLock made together with Brompton for there riser bar. That might not look that neat but I bet it will work! Cheers!
If you go on their website on "Mounts" and then onto "Cycle", you'll find the Out Front Mount and the Pro Version. Click on them and under "1. Select a mount / Pick a mount" choose the you want. I hope that helps ;)
@@jeremyw.465 thanks for the reply I appreciate it. So you mean in case I buy the product "cycling - handlebar/stem mount" firstly I need to buy the universal adapter to fit my phone to the bike right?
@@John-u2f3g yes exactly, it works by sticking it onto your phone. The universal adapter has a sticky side and I would recommend you use a phone case and don’t stick it to it directly. Cheers
