It's so cool that they kept the animation of the actors chilling and waiting for their lines while the focus was on another character.

i have a huge feeling some camera angles are behind the scenes. like how kratos and Tyr are literally waiting for Sindri to get back but really its just the actors in mo-cap waiting for their next scene

05:17 I can't believe they went through the trouble to continue animating these characters despite not being in the shot. Also seeing them stretch and getting into a relaxed position like actors waiting on their next scene is so unintentionally funny to me. Especially Kratos making his arms do a lil dancy dance 😂

Those camera tricks are pretty crazy. The logistics of making it so seamless are what’s really baffling to me… But speaking of transitions, how about the ones where Kratos and Atreus transition in and out of their dreams? I’m curious to see what they do different when the object being focused on in the transition is the animated character model itself…

Atreus leaves on his epic journey at the end of the game: Jankily walks into a wall and remains there even after he's irrelevant to the scene. Everyone offscreen while Sindri goes to the basement: Fully animated with the care of the main cutscenes that we actually see. Always interesting to see what tricks they use and when they fully animate things for no reason.

bro the billboard NPCs are INSANE I swear they look so detailed from far away, even getting close before you're up in their face, they still look like beilevable 3D models how did they even do that???

See if Thor and Sif’s are inside their room while Atreus listens in on their different conversations? How Odin is waiting for Atreus to open the door for him? Is there an animation when Atreus goes to bury Fenrir? When Kratos walks towards the Light of Alfheim, what are Atreus and Tyr doing? What is Tyr doing when Atreus falls into the Lake of Souls and Kratos rescues him? While Freya is ripping the roots of each realm that bound her in Midgard how is Kratos reacting/standing? Odin having a word with Hrist and Mist in Nifelheim? The clash of Mjlnior and Leviathan on the Lake of Nine? A different angle of when Thor is choking Kratos at the end of their first fight? A different angle of Kratos killing Heimdall?

Can you show us another angle of Birgir jumping out of the paper boat?

I love this. I really like how you can actually see the actors waiting for their cue and even the moment when they’re called in for their part. And in the meanwhile they’re just kinda chilling out

See the camera change when Atreus goes to Asgard with the crows taking him, over at Freya's house

I'd like to see what the stage transition looks like when Thor launches Kratos skyward with his hammer in their first encounter. And could you show all the details of the image behind the shrine they discover at the end? In the cinematic where kratos sees a picture of himself being worshipped, that whole triptych is never shown in its entirety

Can you see Freya and Freyr fly around Surtr (Ragnarok)? I also wonder how big Surtr really is and whether he has legs underneath? It’s likely possible that he didn’t have legs modeled just like Thamur’s model in the last game.

These videos are always interesting, finding out how games work underneath the beautiful finish. Also, thank you for featuring my comments!

i love how they just animated kratos while sindri was fetching draupnir like... it's as if santa monica KNEW that players would do this in the same way that they made baldr flip off after kratos snaps his neck and throws him down the ravine in god of war 2018

it's so funny seeing Kratos just looking around and stretching his legs xD the way he looked at Tyr like expecting to make some small talk

Good job. I guess there will be part 2, it would be interesting to see how Kratos's house still looks when Thor throws it with his hammer and breaks the roof, that part makes me curious...

I'd love to see Thor's face during his final cutscene after the rematch up to when Odin kills him. If only to see Ryan Hurst's acting from a better perspective.

Looking at my footage, it appears Atreus and Angrboda are actually speaking in their final scene together, even though the music overpowers it. When I mute all but the center channel, I can hear some of the words they say, but even at maximum volume it's quiet. If you bring the camera closer, are you able to hear them clearer? Or perhaps, mod the game to make that dialogue louder.

can u do the whole scene of the utanguard (when Atreus sleeps and enters a different realm) until he encounters the wolf who looks big at first then shrinks

It's incredibly impressive that the seamless transitions aren't actually seamless, that they actually teleport the camera. Usually you can see evidence of that. Not here!

1. What does the lake of nine look like during the Thor fight? 2. What does the transition from muspelheim to ginnungagap (spark of the world) look like?

These people are wizards with camerawork.

It's really good to see that the developers worked so hard on this MASTERPIECE. This is incredible man. There are no reasons why this isn't the GOAT.

After entering the wall of Asgard with Kratos, in the distance there is a thing with lightning bolts over Odin's house while Thor continues fighting with Jormungander behind us. Could you zoom in?

Can You show us Garm when he is running through Helheim while Kratos and Atreus hunting him and then his transformation to Fenrir?

The last one is really interesting, because there are interactions between the models and the skybox. Even from an out of bounds perspective, it still looks very confusing.

I love when characters are animated even while off screen. It's totally technically pointless for them to be, but I love that they animate them anyway. I think it says a lot about the craftmanship of the overall game as a product.

Can we see the whole first Thor fight, starting from where he launched kratos to tyr’s temple? I also want to see how the frozen lightning was created.

I'd like to see what the frozen lightning bolt from the first thor fight being formed looks like from a different angle.

Thrud in that scene is me any time I have to stand in place for more than 5 seconds.

Out of bounds details are the best. If a game blows up, you can expect at least one person to go for finding out of bounds details. Ragnarok added quite a few and is apprecisted well.

If you're wondering what tyr and kratos were doing while sindri was in the basement, is called idling. Basically what they do while waiting for them to appear in the screen. Thats why kratos- or christopher judge was shaking his arms.
