We are so lucky to live in a world where we can not only hear but see video of some of the best players in the world. All we need is an internet connection and youtube. Not just this clip but there are many hour plus shows of Frank Vignola's Guitar Night at Birdland out there. Now if the politicians just don't mess it all up... Fantastic!
It's so amazing to me how Martin Taylor always just stands out from the others. He has become one of my all time guitar heroes. Definitely one of my top 3 highly respected guitar players.
Martin Taylor one of my all time Fav's Was going to see him play at the "Old Time School of Folk" in Chicago about 10 years ago but he didn't make the trip 😢
Hi Martin, how did I miss this show? I know Frank! I live in NYC and just saw Frank a couple months ago with Mike Stern, my other friend in NYC. I won't miss another if you get in again . We love Birdland. Big wow Martin. Nice to see you in one of my favorite places. See you soon.
❤why are we guitarists always fucking ahead of time ?!?!? :-)))) okay it's improvisation AND getting left and right hand together?!? maybe that's why ?!?!❤😁
Posted 11 months ago. No performance date that I can see; though it looks to be fairly recent. If so, it's good to see Frank Vignola re-habed and back performing after the shattering physical damage he suffered to his head and arm in a quad runner accident.
Martin and frank are great- however , give jimmy the room with just one other player or solo and i just think he out shines them all .. imagine you have heard is early stuff if you are watching this youtube vid .Jimmys playing on Slight of hand album is out of this world and although he's now getting on a bit - some of his lines are still sublime ...
Martin's Fibonacci is absolutely exquisite. It is a rare breed in the world of jazz guitars as it is only 14 inches at the lower bout and 2 inches deep. However the small structure absolutely blows the other two away in tone in my personal opinion. I will personally own one of these guitars before the end of 2023.
Flat Sorry Something missing for me. I’ve Seen Martin Taylor live a couple of times, love his stuff but this isn’t a 10th of what he can bring. It all just sounds like people practicing scales imo.
