This is a video which may explain my recent absence from youtube. I moved house about 6 months ago and now live in a relatively remote area of Victoria, Australia. I have had very poor internet and mobile phone coverage since moving which has been so slow that II was reminded of the olden days when we had telephone modems! - Finally I am able to upload some videos to the internet! - I have just received a new satellite system from 'Starlink' which I pre-paid for 7 months ago.
It is only now that there are enough satellites in orbit in the southern hemisphere from 'Starlink' to allow me to test a Beta version of their internet. Please note that this video is not sponsored by 'Starlink'; I just want people to know about this new technology that has become available to people that live in remote areas of the world!

Hell yes. Moved to Sydney last year from Queensland and hate it. Surprisingly, my internet here is far worse than our country house was. Constant drop outs and can't stream HD most of the time. Watching this in 240 because kids are streaming as well.

Yes Dave, we are very happy with our 'tree change', the only thing that was lacking was the internet and mobile phone coverage and we have fixed that in one foul swoop so shall now be living a 'normal' life again!

My sister and her husband moved to Derrinal last year and love being out of the city. She's lived in Australia for decades now but still gets a thrill from coming face to face with a 6 foot roo in her front garden. Good to see you back.

Congratulations! I have ordered the Starlink internet as well, 3 or 4 months ago. I went from crazy excited to not knowing how long I've been waiting. lol We live in the country with terrible internet as well and when that dish shows up at my door, I will be smiling ear to ear!

Welcome back, Marty. I live in the middle of the Southern Rockies in a valley with only Tower to Tower WiFi available from a Class C provider. Friends from the upper Front Range in Denver have been pushing me to try Starlink. I may very well have to do so.

Good to see you _"dicing with gravity"_ Marty. I well remember spending many happy days installing the zincalume roof on my kit home years ago. When new, the corrugated sheets are extra slippery with a preservative oil to protect them during storage and transport, so I can guess how you felt working up there on your steep slopes.

The StarLink engineering is impeccable, would a competitor go through the trouble of putting handles on the shipping box. I suspect that all components were plugged into each other because the unit is pretested.

The ladder scenario was discussed as a reference to the TV rental van video, but the whole process of installation was quite perilous due to the pitch of the roof and it's smoothness so we decided that it was to complicated/dangerous to include!
