In this clip Jack Hargreaves explains this about Wood Pigeons, and I have learnt that Pigeons, Seagulls, Magpies and Crows can be legally culled.
Over the past few years where I live now many types of bird 'used' to visit the Balcony; a family of Pied Grey Wagtails, a Blackbird, Dunnocks (liked frolicking in waterbowl), Jays, a Goldfinch, once late at night a Falcon perched on the Birdfeeder stand briefly then it was Choughs and Magpies and more Wood Pigeons. Too many Wood Pigeons who I thought were merely seed eaters, yet they ate all the Mealworms I left for the Pied Wagtails, regular vistors. Now they don't come anymore and the Wood Pigeons have brought Pigeons, flying Rats!
Is this related to Farmer Protests of recent years?
Jack Hargreaves proving Wood Pigeons are pests, assumed they were solitary birds like the Turtle Dove. Not so.
