Skaters growing up seem to be the most down to earth in touch with the world people. Every one of these segments is surreal and its so cool seeing ppl just living their lives and making it work no matter the road blocks.

So easy to forget how hard life is for everybody - sometimes we think a pro skater has it all and it all must be this dream. It's helpful for all of us to be reminded of the inherent challenges in life - the ups and downs. Thanks, Jon - for being open to sharing. As far as his mental health goes, i can relate. Sounds like he was having a manic episode..possibly schizoaffective..i ended up being diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Don't know if Hockey has the similar shapes as F/A but I love those F/A shapes. Been saying they are like the OG Zoo York shapes.

SO many skaters I know experience quasi- BPD type of illness. Something in the creative surge, the animosity of skating, the love for it. Like Musicians and artists. Mix that with the ominous drinking culture in skating... no good. Much Love John, you always did remind of a boxer!

I love boxing, man. Idk what it is, my family has nobody else who likes it, none of my friends have ever liked it. In a way it's like skating. If you watch it enough you see how certain guys look so natural in the ring almost like seeing Grant Taylor and others who skate like the rest of us breath. Seeing someone who's so naturally gifted at anything is incredible to see, especially shit like skating and boxing. But that's just my opinion

Skateboarding and Boxing both take heart, so cool. I’ve always liked the both but just started boxing training last year, and glad i did.
