Out with the old - new interpretation installed at Stracey Arms Drainage Mill, Norfolk 

As part of the Mill and the Marsh Folk project to restore Stracey Arms Drainage Mill in Norfolk, a new suite of interpretation has been installed.
Four hanging panels on the ground floor provide information about the mill, the people associated with the mill and the role of the mill as a pillbox during WWII. Eight segments mounted in the crownwheel create a chronological history of the mill. They include images of historic maps from before the current mill was constructed to a modern image of the cap being lifted into position in Dec 2021.
On the first floor, four more hanging panels explain the significance of the marshes as traditional grazing pasture, the management of water levels on the marshes, the special characteristics of Stracey Arms Drainage Mill and the current use of wind energy to generate electricity off-shore at Scroby Sands Wind Farm.
Outside the mill, on the wall of the adjacent pumphouse building, a new interpretation board has been fixed. This explains the significance of Stracey Arms as ‘the very model of a modern Broadland drainage mill’, providing information for visitors to the site when the mill is closed.
