So opal mining is the process of moving dirty from one pile to a new pile 🤪. Does it get fume build up down there running the digger for so long? Thanks for sharing, it’s great to watch, I assume the tunnel were full of the wash out material were they?

That's a lot of dirt to muck off the floor. That was all from. Flooding rains.

Yep, a lot of it was washed in from the vent shafts further in, and some was left by me to slow down the ratters that go in when I'm not up there. Cheers

How can using equipment be faster mucking than a slightly longer blower line or a relay station? Funny how opal likes to follow just the contact zone and people dont appreciate how much over and under burden comes with it. Here in Nevada we have so much dust & mud you have to wash first.

A blower is the way to go but because I am part time mining up there at the moment I cant leave equipment underground. Usually I have a mini loader shifting dirt as well but it was a quick trip this time. Cheers

@@opalquest Figured it was something like that. I have done more prospecting with a little Bobcat Excavator myself than I have hiring a full size excavator. I don't like leaving mines open laying around either. They can feel free to start at the beginning by removing overburden for me that I under dug for the gem layer before leaving. We can't leave anything laying around here either due to the ratters, tweakers & travelers.
