@@ostlundj It was based off of Ebola. They used the exact same image of the Ebola virus in this movie. The symptoms are almost identical, the only major difference is Ebola isn’t airborne and this Motaba Virus is. So yes, Ebola clearly inspired it.

Maybe it's a crossbreed between ebola and covid: lethal like ebola, airborne like covid

Contagion was brillaint the directors actually went and spoke to leading virologists to get better education for the movie most accurate Pandemic movie ever it even had conspiracy nutjobs in the movie to lol

I think Motaba is meant to be a mutated Ebola strain.

@@malcolmmorin it maybe possible, only it became 10 times or more worse than its ebola ansestor, only one flaw, ebola was discovered in 1976 and motaba was discovered in 1967, maybe there was a much older strain that broke them into two physically identical, but what they do to the human body is much worse
