It might have been useful if you mentioned in the video that your instructions only referred to the Steam version. A lot of your viewers will have wasted a lot of time trying to find their (encrypted) main install folder. Again, not a good video by your usual standards. Don't go for clicks at any cost. You let your viewers down.

First off Happy New Year! Secondly This has made the world of difference! I have almost the exact same specs (I have the ATX version of the mobo). Flying with the Fenix at NZA's NZCH Christchurch I am now getting a pretty solid 60fps on high compared to 30fps with random frame drops. On the control input lag, so far I have found it to be barely noticeable. Impressed is an understatement, Thank you!
I have 12900KF cpu and RTX3090. This made the game way more stuttery for me! My system performs the best with DX11 TAA! At least so far! Thanks for the post though.
Same! I have a 2060, used it for about a week and decided I am deleting it. It's way too stuttery with DX12 and when touching down it would make a weird flickering effect. The 30-40fps before felt way smoother
Thanks for the video! It worked very well for me. I went from 30-40fps in the PMDG 737 to an average FPS count of 55-60. In the Fenix I had approximately 30fps and now I got 45. Worked really well ;)
I gotta say I havent noticed any improvements. I know another person mentioned the tearing problem with the UI, and I'm getting that as well. Gonna revert back for now. I'm running an RTX 3070 and still getting around 30 FPS at KBOS
@@koolgbeI have 4060, and it uses on average around 6-7 GB of VRAM. Tearing is the real issue, not VRAM. To make it better, you have to lock FPS through Nvidia Panel to 58(or 2 FPS lower than your refresh rate of a monitor), and enable VSYNC in the panel. There may be some ghosting, but it's gonna be much less annoying than constant tearing
I had my doubts, but tried this yesterday. I have an RTX3070. WOW, I doubled my FPS. I did a testflight and everything went perfect. I haven't seen any issues. I have been using DX12 all the time and Vsync has also been disabled since I use Gsync. I tried also to put PMDG and Fenix in different add on airports and it seems like have doubled my fps, from around 30 to now 60.
Ive watched 5 of these vids in a row. Started at 20 fps, doubled every time I followed the vid, so getting well over 600fps now. Its awesome Looks like real life now.
Am I the only person who when I install this I only see the cons of the screen tearing with no noticeable improvement? I was usually at a stable 30 fps before, but after I install this and even turning a few settings down I'm still at 30 fps with some screen tearing and blurs when I move my camera around
One of many, many videos that flight sim content creators are showcasing I guess from the original content creator. All well and good. It does provide an increase in FPS. VRAM usage increases, so be sure you have enough, also GPU temps rise by 2 degrees, for me. Yup high 70`s. (72, 75, 78 degrees). Yes there are some pros and cons for this. Yes it does increase FPS. Everything seems smoother, and I was amazed !, at times how good it seemed. But I did notice artifacting on UI Huds. Some cockpit blurriness. Occasional crash to desktop. ( I was flying the Fenix A320 for my test ).I know the very good flight sim community and modders will hopefully come up with more solutions. Indeed FSR3 will improve over time and development I am sure. For me personally its a kinda panacea that does not fully provide a full-proof solution. I did notice latency when panning views in cockpit. And external panning also. Sure its an exciting mod and may work well for some. I prefer to go back to DSDR, DLSS for my set up. For me DSDR and DLSS provide a smoother experience, even though I have less FPS. DLSS does better when it has a higher input resolution, so it has more data to work with internally. With an input of 4k and and output of 1440P it will look better on your screen than it would if you didn't use DLDSR or DLDSR + TAA. ( To date, albeit for those infamous micro pauses, and occasional stutters that MSFS still produce is an ongoing area of investigation for me). Even on a high rig PC, many folks have stutters also within the sim. Thank you for your good work in this channel. Happy New year.

Figured it out and its been awesome so far! Only things I have is the menus and main menu can be glitchy and tear. FPS is much better, even with the 737 at KBOS with traffic!
Very nice! For my 3080ti; More and smoother fps, same VRAM usage, but less GPU usage and temperatures. Definitely a game changer! Until NVIDIA blocks it in future drivers! 😊
Didn’t do anything for me… turned off vsync copied this video twice and it quite laggy when I fired up the sim. Weird screen tearing too. Uninstalled the mod and did some of my one tweaks and other RU-vid videos and now is running fine 60hz with vsync on 50% rate = 30fps limited by gpu. Moral of the story is this won’t work for everyone, I was very confused.
Not so sure this is safe for those who have only 8gb VRAM. Tried this again over the holidays with my 3060ti which already has problems with DX12 CTDs. Frames went from mid 30s to mid 50's and everything seemed OK at the local small airport (Verticalsim KGSP that they abandoned and left us hanging). Fans were a good bit noisier and temps higher than normal. Went to KPHL (MK Studios). Frames dropped to 40ish, stutters out of control, screen freezes. Fans sounded like a jet turbine spooling, system shut down completely, didn't even try to reboot. Disabled the frame generation and went back to DX11. Previous normal FPS in mid 30s was now in the teens, kept getting CTDs. Checked XP12 to make sure it wasn't just something corrupted in MSFS, same thing, super low FPS. Spent an entire day fiddling with settings to no avail and finally wiped my HDD clean and started fresh with everything. New install of Windows , MSFS, and XP12. Old performance restored now but that was too close of a call for me. Could have easily fried the 3060ti and I'm not convinced the thermal spike didn't damage it but time will tell. Just a head's up "Buyer Beware" type of warning here. If this thing fries your card, it is a "Free" hack (In every sense of the word) that no one is responsible for except the owner of the PC and you will easily be out $400 to $800 depending on your GPU. It is a brilliant idea and I'm happy to see it works for some, but food for thought.
For some reason the option on the sim for the Frane Generation did not appear. I followed every step, my GPU is NVIDIA 3080, so I guess it should work. I don't know why it doesn't.
does not work for me, i did everything (HAGS on, DX12 on, installed it in the location of the FlightSim.exe, run the Reg-Tweak) but the Option does not appear. (i7-10700k, RTX2070Super)
Unfortunately there are some problems with this method, the first one is you have to use DX12 which is very heavy on the vram and when the vram get saturated the fps drops below what you were getting without framgen, the second problem is i noticed a ton of graphic artifacts
@@PilotStudd its not about time, for example with 8gb of vram i saturate it as soon as i spawn, with the same graphic settings that make me run smooth on dx11
I have an Ryzen 6700XT graphics card. Is there any alternative that I could use as you stated in the video that it is AMD software, so shouldn't it work with my AMD graphics card?

I have 16GB of RAM and an RTX 3060TI, I put the frame gen mod on, but my PC starts to go into a blue screen, probably due to an excess memory, does anyone know how to solve it?
This doesn't work for me on my 3090, I do not think that my card supports it anyway, I get 35FPS without and 35FPS with Frame Gen XD and so doesn't do flip all
Do you have the Microsoft store version, if so, you can make a new installation folder via the Xbox Game Hub that will allow you to edit your installation folder
Great video, but I have a problem downloading from Nexus Mods. You have to be a Premium member to download the file. Did you have to also, or is this something new?
Hi. This is working awesome for me but idk why but the Fenix doesn't automaticall start since I applied this, and when I manually start it, my sim crashes. Any idea? Only happens with Fenix. All other aircraft including PMDG work perfectly
Thank you for posting this. I have essentially the same configuration you do (3060 Ti and Ryzen 7 5800x) and the results have been good for the most part. I am noticing some ground texture bleed through at some of the airports that appear to be squares with the underlying terrain being shown instead of the texture file. Have you noticed this at all? That’s more to do with DX12 I believe and should be resolved in the future, I’ve heard people mention it in the comments but haven’t seen it myself for a while now. Glad this helped!
@@PilotStudd I did some more research on this, and apparently it's been a problem with DX12 for quite a while. One more question for you. Do you turn photogrammetry on or off when you're flying a CPU heavy aircraft like the Fenix? I turned it off with DX11 because it didn't run smoothly on my system.
I was very impressed by this mod, but I encountered one major bug that ruins everything. The menu and intruments displayed on external aircraft views are blurring and just completely glitched, do you know how to solve it?
Dear people, sorry, but don't be fooled, it doesn't work on an RTX 2070 4 Mb, the RU-vid videos I've already seen are made at least a RTX3000 series and RTX4000 series boards , I even get less FPS with the mod on than off.
Sorry to hear it hasn’t worked for you! This does work with 20-30 series cards, it may not just be compatible with your system especially if you’re CPU bottlenecked!
Ghosting is when you have faint replications across your screen (in this case with some in-sim tabs), some people note a degradation in graphics, I do not think it is noticeable on my 1080p setup.
Hi :) Just wanted to share my experiance.. I've got like 20fps more this is true, but the screen tearing is so masive that for me it's just not worth it. BTW I have 60Hz monitor, so if someone has better it might also have better results. For me, it's not OK without V-Sync. I have between 40 and 50fps with Fenix A320 without frame gen and between 60 and 70fps with it. Also, I have RTX 3050 with Ryzen 5 5600.

My specs are 2060rtx super on a ryzen 5 . Prior at ypph I was getting about 20 fps with a few ultra settings and cloud vol at med. switched to the frame gen mod increased to 30 fps on. ground with increase cloud to ultra. Will take it for a low level run in day or so . Getting a few stutters nothing more than normal.
Thanks for the tutorial! What about the "You do not have permission to move files here" situation? I have the game on the Microsoft Store and couldn't move things like the sky colors mod into the folder with flightsimulator.exe. I also noticed that message pop up around 4:49 for you.
That seems to be a common issue with the Microsoft store version, that pop up came up for me as I already have the files in there. I believe if you move over your MSFS installation folder to go via the Xbox game hub, you shouldn’t have this issue.
i ran into this exact issue and i spent several hours trying to get permission to access the msfs installation folder within windowsapps, it was a real pain in the ass and unfortunately didn't work out. then eventually, after some more googleing i found out that via the xbox app you can move the installation to a different (unprotected!) folder with just one or two mouse clicks .... i wish this very important step had been communicated in the installation instructions. but finally, i got it all installed and working. so far, so good... but it is not very stable on my system (i7-9800X, 32 GB, 3080-12GB in 3840x1600..). sometimes it is very smooth, and just a minute later it gets extremely jittery. i think i'll have to do some more testing and hope for some updates/bugfixes.
Make sure HAGS is enabled (and PC reset after), you’re on DX12 (and sim reset after) as long as you’ve popped the dll files into the right folder, you will see it. Let me know if I can help any further :)
Not sure if I did this wrong but when I have frame generation enabled everything is very blury and bounces around. If there a fix to that? I'm using an RTX 3060, AMD Ryzen 5600X, 32GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro.
@@PilotStudd Sorry, that made no difference. What I did was imported that registry file, rebooted the system, placed those dll files in the MSFS folder (I have the Steam version), loaded the game, selected DX12, TAA, V-SYNC OFF, Frame Gen OFF, started a flight, then I've enabled Frame Gen and no luck.
@@robman501a Are you reading your FPS by Nvidia or by the inbuilt FPS display, sounds like you have done it perfectly, so I cannot see where the issue is.
when i try do this, the 'dlssg_to_fsr3_amd_is_better' and the 'nvngx' both come up as DLL files instead of application extensions. Does anyone know how to change this?
but the question is, will it make my displays blurry so i cant read them without zooming in? (had this problem with dlss) :) just asking.. and happy new year ! thx for your videos
This is not the mod to go for. It results in terrible visuals. Should you really be telling your viewers to mess with their registries? Not a good video.
It doesn’t result in terrible visuals and this process is entirely reversible with the click of a few buttons. It’s not for everyone, but it works for me.
@@PilotStudd Yes i play on dx 11 and I changed to dx 12 beta and I had lower fps than in dx11 (Yes irestarted mfs and updated my drivers in nVidia panel)
Interesting, you shouldn’t get that. Did you reset your PC after enabling HAGS, do also ensure DX12 is on (and the sim is reset after) These are the common steps that may get missed.
@@PilotStudd Thanks! That helped me. I tried it out and it was impressive. But strangely my GPU went up to 80⁰C in the game menu. When I spawned in the Game IT went down to around 65⁰C which is the temperature I normaly have while playing MSFS. On top of that the fan of the CPU and GPU where kinda loud. (I've never expeered them so loud). Also a big con for me is the wobbling of the ingame ATC window. (Is there a way to fix this?). At the end I decided to deinstall this and to wait for an official Version from Nvidia. -will there be an official one?
No improvement at all, actually worse, Nvidia 3090. Pop up windows like ATC and VFR map jump around all over the place when panning. This video says it is OUTDATED for some bizarre reason without explanation, but nothing more recent or correct appears to be anywhere on the Internet, just older stuff about installing frame gen which presumably is even more outdated..
Sorry should’ve explained! Not too much about the core of the product has changed, just the installation process, there’s now no need to mess around with the registry as the software bypasses it now. Was meant to make a follow up video for this, but simply haven’t had the time. Hope this clears it up, the pop-up window issue is well documented, and a common pitfall. Have a great day!
