I’ve met people from my audience, and a few of them said to me they feel like they know me personally :)

I plan on doing more hikes this year therefore more videos. Hikes+videos= filming experience which over time will equate to better quality and better story telling.

"Sean, good points, especially about having fun. I snap into the "Professor" mode as soon as the camera is rolling. I've been on RU-vid for over 12 years, with 1100-plus videos, and yet I still learn so much from your generation. Do we work hard, work smart, or work fun? I choose the latter. Mahalo! 😎🤙"

Sean...all great points. Still working on 'relaxing' myself in front of the camera. Though, do find it harder to deliver 'technical' information off-the-cuff. People are impatient and I feel like I often have to 'quickly' and 'precisely' deliver technical information. One mis-spoken word and people are quick to point out your mistakes....but totally agree with what your saying.
@seankitching
@seankitching 6 месяцев назад
Yeah 100%. Its a tricky one to master and I am always working on it myself too. I think its nice to just pretend you are explaining to a friend even when it comes to the more technical aspects. But mixing the two is hard for sure.

I use AI to create “reference” for my art, but I haven’t yet started using it for helping with the writing. To, spark creativity as you say. I know ppl think that AI robots are going to take over, but it’s not really like that. Making GOOD videos takes a ton of time and these things can help

About the intro, I use them to give some context of what the episode is about. What was previously, what's coming in this one (I document my journey through learning table tennis competition at the age of 51). Intro is a time I can put a new watcher into my story and get a bit of the challenge he'll be watching. Sometimes it can be long, sometimes it is short. There is no rule about it according to me ;-).
@seankitching

Amazing you are able to continue to come up with good, relevant content which makes a difference. I keep growing as a 'film maker' (I am using that term very loosely) due to your help! Thank you! My thumbnails suck and would like your opinion on whether it is good, bad or causes any problems to redo thumbnails for existing content? I will have to check out your vlogg channel as I didn't know it existed. These three questions may be more appropriate for that channel but will leave them for you to think about: When is it appropriate to use a voice over? Second, what guidance would you give regarding the use of music and when it should be playing vs having no music and just having the back ground sounds be present? Do you have any insight or guidelines on volume levels when talking and or the length of time you should take to change the volume levels throughout a video. Keep up the great work! I really appreciate your efforts and amazed at your ability to crank these videos out!
@seankitching
@seankitching 6 месяцев назад
Ah awesome to hear Jeff! I don't think its too damaging to change the thumbnail. Especially if your click through rate is lower than usual. Voice over is a tricky one, I guess it depends on the project and feel there needs to be more perspective or info that the footage doesn't portray on its own. As for levels and when to use music, such good questions that I actually have a video coming out on this soon ;) but generally background music is around -22 for me.
