Honestly best truck review I have seen, and your other reviews are some of the best out there. Very in depth, very good clarity with just enough subjectivity

Thanks! I’m proud of this one, although I don’t plan on making more truck reviews until I skate a wider variety of things.

That explanation of slop is great as well as the bushing seat importance. The detail and stuff that is covered is perfect. I agree Caliber is great for beginners. So very stable and can help build confidence.

awesome review man exactly what i was searching for! you talking about the caliber ii 44 and the paris v3 43 right?

I was discussing the 50’s. I might make a review in the future comparing the 43/44 versions. This video should still be generally accurate in the way I describe the trucks though!

Here I am again, watching Owen Cambell skate gear reviews in the middle of the night. Anyways, Caliber trucks are my favorite cast trucks. In my opinion they're the most stable cast trucks on the market aside from maybe arsenals (haven't had enough time on those to say). But it comes with the trade off of feeling less "lively" and "carvy" that Paris is known for. Calibers are the cheapest trucks if you wanna go fast without breaking the bank with some forged or precision truck. But hey, that's just my opinion. Edit: most stable cast trucks for the price

I generally agree, nice overview! Lil spoiler for you, I’ve begun work on a Luxe Lite Trucks review. I’m looking forward to doing some comparisons and getting opinions from the other riders in my crew.

@@owencampbell777 yooo that's awesome. I always wanted to hear some thoughts on those. They always catch my eye but I can never convince myself to get a set to try out. Looking forward to it

I'm really enjoying your content. Great stuff and I wish you more subscribers in the future. I wondered if you had insight as to the future of truck manufacturing, specifically in regards to hanger widths. I am coming back into the downhill game after many years and I'm noticing a trend of narrower "slalom" truck widths for downhill becoming the norm. The issue I'm seeing though is truck manufacturers not keeping up with this trend. In your opinion, why aren't Paris, Caliber, Arsenal etc. making 120-130mm hangers and lower angle baseplates when clearly there is a demand? The above mentioned also have cornered the market when it comes to the downhill/freeride game. I get the whole precision, tighter tolerance argument for precision vs cast trucks but at a non-professional or recreational level, does it really matter? I'm over here thinking that Paris or Caliber could be making bank offering a narrower hanger width and lower baseplates cast option at around their current price. Am I missing something? Why hasn't this been done yet? Thanks

Hey! This is a phenomenal comment! I’m actually writing a video essay/review to tackle this. I’ll make note of your questions and I’ll be sure to address them when the video comes out.

Hey man great review! Just had a couple questions if you still read the comments. Which do you prefer for sliding? 44/43 or 50 degrees? In the description you mention Paris are better for low speed turning and more stable at high speed, I thought in the video you liked the calibers for high speed stuff?

In a straight line on smooth roads, I think Paris are more stable. However, when the road is rough and/or has turns, I think the Calibers are more stable. If you’re learning slides (glove-down AND standup), I recommend 50 degrees. If you already have a good grasp on slides, then get 43/44.

Honestly, you can’t go wrong with either truck. I just think 50 Cals are the best for learning anything

Paris trucks are raked, are caliber trucks raked?
@mrafitzy17
@mrafitzy17 3 года назад
Also if you switch from the cones to the barrel bushings on Paris it makes them a lot more stable also the 43° base plate. But all that's besides the point of calibers raked?
@owencampbell777

Paris has rake, caliber has no rake.
