Loved seeing your cute little helpers! The wicker table and mirror were beautiful and what a clever idea to make a print look like an oil painting and it went so well with the frame.
So absolutely true! And I loved the way the kids helped with mom’s project; so cute! They have no idea YET what a creative and generous heart you have but they will find out one day that they are very lucky❤, sending y’all blessings
I 100% identify with your struggle to find a similar charity. You inspired me, a former foster child, to look for a similar set up where I live. Everyone agrees it's a great idea! Throwing the the kids into the mix in a hands in way was my added flavor. Everyone wants to be involved! A cyclical economy to boot? Amazing! "What charity do you work with?" I don't have my own 501c3. And no one here is willing to add to or restructure theirs. It's very frustrating.
Very true Elizabeth. I want to some day start a non profit but it takes a lot of work that I don't have the means to accomplish at the moment. I am proud of you for trying. I think if we stick to it, we will find a way to help them out.
Wonderful projects. They were all beautiful. I want to try the picture project. My husband and I suffer with allergies. Seeing how much “stuff” can be in a room in a clean house makes me think and air purifier is the way to go.
Thank you Laurel! I am a neat freak and I hate bugs so I always try to keep my house very clean so I was shocked at what was in the air in my bedroom. Wow. I hope you try out the painting. It is fun and relaxing
Cory, I love how you are making paintings from prints. You have inspired me yet again. whenI frame pictures I first apply the paper to card board, somehow it looks more like a painting. Since you are using pictures from books couldn’t you use the same process with the mod pudge? Keep up the good work ,you are so talented. Thank you
That chair is so beautiful in its craftsmanship and your choice of seat fabric totally reminds me of my mom's dining room chairs from the 50s. It doesn't take away from the chair itself. I was surprised at how much I love the wicker, that color is so perfect. I want to try the 'painting' technique and I will be on the lookout for a suitable picture. The 'artwork' looks just lovely with that frame. Thanks for sharing your process. Clamps, clamps, clamps!! :)
Thank you so much Lois. I really appreciate you taking time to watch my video as well as share you story about your mom's dining chairs. You will really enjoy creating a faux painting!
Love the chair and the colour you chose to paint the wicker table & mirror was just perfect but that painting and frame were absolutely made for each other! Gorgeous :-D
I am so glad I found ypur channel today. I have a chair that I wanted to redo and really didn't know where to start. You found some beautiful pieces to flip and they all came out stunning. I love the modge podge technique for older pictures. The frame is beautiful. ❤
I bought a cheap print from amazon painted it with mod podge put it in an antique frame I've bought cheap many years ago and it looks like a museum piece!😊
Just found your channel, love it, your so talented. For the past year I have started doing diys- home decor. I can't afford much but it gives me so much peace. Want to start doing furniture flips, my dream is to one day do furniture with beautiful transfers but I can't afford them, money is tight. Maybe one day. Really enjoy watching you, thanks for the inspiration
Thank you Dottie I am so glad to have you here. Maybe you could try decoupage with napkins first? There are beautiful napkins at places like homegoods, tj max, etc for very cheap that you can use to create faux transfers by cutting out parts of the design in the napkins and decoupage them
Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it. The filter is on sale for about $90 right now. Usually air purifiers are close to 200 or more. It's in my amazon store link. Be sure to click the coupon box on amazon.
I was surprised how hard it was to find someone to work with in the aging out area of foster care. I asked what was needed but never really got anywhere. Then I sent some photos of finished projects that I wanted to donate and theye were happy to take them. Hope you find something soon.
Yes so strange! In Arizona is was very easy but here in houston no one wants to answer or they send me down a rabbit hole of call transfers that lead to a dead end.
The chair looks so elegant with tbe blue fabric and trim now!! You're right they certainly don't make beautiful furniture anymore! The khaki color made an awesome difference with the wicker!! I have several pieces that never got painted and i plan to keep them that way! I never would have thought about using the modpodge on the print and that frame is spectacular! They look like they were meant to be together!! Great projects!!
Thank you so much I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my video and then commenting such sweet compliments. Wood furniture is such a treasure and I know it will come back in style. Everything always comes around again
Love the blue bonnet picture. It's our state flower 😊 how are you liking Texas? I know it's a change from Arizona! We have our pros and cons of course. I moved here from Wisconsin decades ago and call Texas home now.
Thank you Vickie! I love it here so far! I could do without the mosquitos and the amount of upkeep the landscape and exterior of our homes need but it's beautiful so it's a trade off
I loved everything you made over, Cory! It is so lovely to hear about your projects from time to time. When I saw this trick for making fake paintings look natural, I had to try it! I made over maybe six pieces from our gallery wall, and the change is everything! Thank you for the inspiration! :) (Sorry for the water damage. We experience massive rains here in Europe, too.)
I loved them all especially the chair. Traditional is my preference after dabbling over the years with other styles always came back to traditional I have some chairs similar to yours but I’m sure they are not as old as yours
I love everything you did! The wicker was so gorgeous. I have heard about the paint technique, so thank you for showing us how to do it because I want to try it. I am wondering what kind of Mod-Podge you used (there’s so many now-it’s confusing). Thanks for sharing, always love your videos!
Thank you so much Sarah. I think any mod podge with a little bit of shine to it should work. I think matte could work too but I think a little bit of gloss would mimic oil paint better
Everything in this video came out great! The choice to go with that khaki color for the wicker was spot-on! And are you really living in Texas if you don't have some sort of art with bluebonnets in it? 😅
If your allergies are bad it could be because you moved to Texas. Watch your news and it should give you a pollen report on what’s high and air quality. Mine are really bad and I’m in Texas as well. Also is your carpet new ? It could be years or dust underneath the carpet.
May I ask what you used to hang the picture on the wall? Is it an adhesive of some sort? Thank you. You are very talented & I am glad that I found your channel.
I believe there is a group here where I live in New Braunfels. Roughly about 3 hour drive from you. I could contact a friend who is involved with it and get details for you.
Totally understand, Cory. Next time I see her I may remember to ask if there is a group in the Houston area. My sister lived in Katy for quite a while so I would make trips to visit her. She found a place in the country, so now I need to make the trip for eggs.
