Kids benefit from adventure. The Webster dictionary defines adventure as:
"an undertaking usually involving danger and unknown risks."
The term "risky play" is a relatively new term that I have talked about in other parenting videos. But whatever you want to call it, I believe that adventure and risk are essential building blocks for a healthy life.
I want my kids to be able to handle adversity and have the know-how and confidence that they will be okay. Life will inevitably throw many challenges at them in one form or another. And I believe their time on the mountain will help them persevere.
