Cheers mate, it was a great afternoon/evening in a great spot, and I'm still absolutely stoked you were able to get onto some silver perch. Everybody make sure to go to Robbie's channel to see the footage! ru-vid.com - It will be released very soon
Well done Guys. I suppose this might be as close as we can get to Australian Match Fishing. Can't believe Robbie hadn't been blessed with a Silver before this.
Wow! Hello my friend! it's amazing! It's a very interesting fishing spot! It's wonderful river! I really like it! Thank you for sharing! Have a nice day!
Looking forward to your next new work! Your channel brings me endless happiness! Watching the video feels better than eating delicious food! Thank you for your creation! wish you happy! God bless you!
Thanks heaps Jaron! Haha yeah they were slightly too small, if any large umbrella companies want to sponsor us they are more than welcome to contact us LOL!
LOL the new kid! Haha that's funny! Upon reviewing the footage it might have been 44cm rather than 45 but close enough when mates are concerned! We had a great day mate, thanks heaps
You're absolutely right Brett, the company is more important than the fish, and with regards to catching it doesn't matter who gets them as long as somebody does haha. Thanks heaps mate
@@fatherandsonsfishing Mate I was going to say I don't do that and then listen and tell you what the sound really was, but I have no idea HAHAHA Maybe I did? LOL!
Awesome mate. I have seen some cod with similar growth on the dorsal and tail fins out of the Broken, I had wondered what that was also. That little cod was so cute haha
Thanks Lee! Yeah I've seen it a bit before as well but usually on larger fish, this one seemed to have it worse than others. Not sure what it is! Haha yeah the cod was a cutie for sure! might be the smallest cod I've ever caught lol
I'm a native Montanan, have fished all of my 70 years....really enjoy watching these lads and listening to their conversations. Interesting to see that fishermen are fishermen wherever you find them! GOD bless, keep fishing and from an old Marine....SEMPER FI!
Very enjoyable video to watch. Good to see small fish around. Gee, that godzilla surface lure you were casting. If you hit some poor cod on the head with that, you would give it stage 4 concussion !! Cheers mate.
Thanks so much Trevor! You're right it's always great seeing the small natives in the system, especially when they look that healthy. Haha yeah that lure could do some damage aye? hahaha
Cheers mate thanks so much. I recommend gold and silver sharpies to mark out a black rod, they show up nicely! I used silver to mark each 10cm marking, and then the gold one to mark specific fish like cod at 55 and 75cm
Great video, day out for Robbie catching 11 or so but hey good to see you out there with him, love the markings you got on ya rod for the measurements, great idea..
Hello Rohan, that little cod Robbie got has to be the smallest trout cod I've ever seen get hooked... but he made up for it with the 45 centimetre boofa... your perch was in great condition mate, and I was convinced you were going to get something on the cheese, take care mate ATB Jim.
Yeah it was a cute little trout cod aye? I reckon his tiny trout cod was the reason I called my little muzza a trout cod later on lol. I was hoping for a metery to come out of the depths for that godzilla lure I was throwing around, but maybe next time (or next decade? LOL) Thanks heaps Jim
We sure did Charlie! Haha yeah they are unreal, but the split rings are quite tough to manipulate! My advice is to make sure you have the tails the right way up before connecting them, I got it wrong twice in a row lol
Good show Rohan . Seems to be a very healthy stretch of river from all the different species you guys caught. Pretty cool you guys get together and fish. That grub you made was a great idea 👍🏻
Thanks heaps Chris! Yeah it's a great river that Robbie and I definitely need to focus on more often for sure. I have some plans to make those cheese grubs even better in the future haha!
Hi there , I noticed on your surface lure that there was 3 sets of treble hooks . I was under the impression that was illegal in Victoria because here we can only have 2 sets of trebles . cheers Kevin Tripp
Hi Kevin, I just checked the vic recreational fishing guide online, and it defines a lure as 1 hook. I think the old rules said something about the number of hooks on a lure but it doesn't seem to say that now. You can check it out yourself here: vfa.vic.gov.au/recreational-fishing/recreational-fishing-guide/fishing-equipment/permitted-fishing-equipment/using-equipment-in-inland-waters
Don't worry Rohan, I have to put up with my sister who gave me a flogging on K.I. Robbie would be much nicer about it! I think I like the umbrellas about as much as bells lol.
Haha yeah Robbie was definitely nice about it, I can only imagine the words your sister had with you for days on end while you were visiting haha. At least the umbrellas are quiet Frank! LOL! Thanks mate
Haha nice one, put a bit of aniseed oil in the cheese and whack a a jighead with a decent weight before it sets it if you wanna go the Mozzy Bardi Grub route.
I actually set the cheese with the hook inside but never thought to use a jighead, I reckon that would actually work a treat! Thanks for the tip mate I'm gonna make some of those haha
@@RKJFishing It's never worked for me but I've only tried it a few times, hope you'll have better luck. Aniseed essence and even a bit of birdseed is all the old fishos around here reckon to add, the Cod love it combined with a cheeky mozzy cheese bardi grub bait. Hope the missus won't kill ya for making a mess in the microwave, mine nearly did haha. You can buy these biodegradable stockings for cheese and Yabby baits too that stop the Yabbies and Shrimp nicking all your bait too, forget the guys name but they're a good investment.
@@SEEYAIAYE I've definitely seen the bait socks around before but I didn't know if they were biodegradable or not! If they are I'll definitely give them a try at some stage as well
@@RKJFishing You ever go to SA, Give Betta Electrical Renmark a go, you walk into the store seeing TV's and Washing Machines, look left and that half of the store is entirely dedicated to fishos, rare brands of lures, troll motors, tackle, life jackets, you name it. Last time I went there the owner and I spent an hour talking about Redfin hotspots at Lake Victoria and he gave me and my mate huge discounts, top bloke.
I have been requesting this for a bit now but u should go fishing up at bridge water flour mill up at the London river there is lot of cod up there the biggist one that my mate caught was 88cm.
I definitely plan to do more fishing on the Loddon, including Bridgewater and Serpentine! Hopefully this lockdown ends Wednesday so I can get out there and do some more fishing
I reckon Robbie got the biggest silver of the day a bit later on, along with the biggest cod, biggest carp, biggest yellowbelly, biggest trout cod.... hahahaha
Thanks John! I reckon that was probably the tiniest one I've ever caught as well haha! That was just an entry level baitcaster rod mate, it's an Abu Garcia Promax combo but it's a bit heavier than some other rods so it can handle some heavier lures
Cheers mate! I received the mould for Christmas, it was made by Bennett Creations but I'm not sure where to buy them from sorry! I posted photos of the mould while I was using it on my Facebook page here: facebook.com/RKJfishing/posts/3698415250202037
Can be worse Rohan, I fished goulborn at Seymour free camp for 2 days with a mate,he caught a turtle, I didn't get a bite, used cheese and thin chicken strips☹️
Hi Rowan, I was wondering if you could tell me what brand of net you are using and where they are available. What I am looking for, long, big and foldable. Cheers and good video
Hi Sam, thanks mate! That's a Wilson net that I picked up at Anaconda in Bendigo, I found a link if you wanna check it out - www.anacondastores.com/fishing/netting-gaffs-pots-bait-pumps/landing-nets-gaffs/wilson-medium-folding-landing-net/BP90109302
LOL I'm used to thumbs down mate, haters gonna hate! Little do they know that by clicking my video and then clicking an interaction button that they are doing my channel 2 favours hahahaha. They would do more harm by not clicking it in the first place, so I don't mind one bit!
Hi mate, the Goulburn River in Shepparton itself can hold some nice fish, the Broken River, Main Eastern Channel, or Waranga Basin are also great options
@@RKJFishing ended up going to achers road I think its called near the maccas. Had an amazing day. Caught 9 Murray Cod biggest 77cm, 5 Trout cod, 2 golderns one silver and few dozen carp. A massive one as well. Only down bit of the day just as the sun was going down 20 odd people started to swim where I was swimming
We definitely experimented with casting out deeper, we found loads of current and snags haha. I left parts like that out because they can make the video too long and boring
