Solar panel or two on the roof feeding into 4 or 5 _marine rated_ trickle chargers. Boaters use solar quite often to keep their onboard batteries topped off with few problems. Since he rarely comes into the snow belt during the winter months he wouldn't need to worry about snow covering the panels.
