Yep I totally agree one minute Jamie is making you laugh your ass off by his black comment and the next minute he's ripping your heart out by being so darn tender you can't stand it
I also love the way Jamie shows Brianna she could not have stopped Steven Bonnet from assaulting her. It's a great lesson for anyone who has ever been in this situation. Thank you
Pretty amazing they flew the fab 4 in from Scotland in the middle of production and out again for this appearance. What troopers! I so appreciate their commitment, to the show, dedication to the fans and to sheer professionalism. Such hard workers, they just never fail to impress.
Agree, and I think this is one of the reasons the show has captured the hearts of so many people across the globe. I have read that Sam and Catriona set the tone by personally welcoming every new actor who joins the production, no matter how minor the role, and tells them they are important to the success of the whole ensemble. No room for divas here--yea! That down-to-earth professionalism infuses the show throughout and gives it such a broad appeal.
Sam and Catriona both deserve best actor awards in a TV series ie Outlander. Their love scenes are the best scenes of the series, so true to life one feels they are a couple in real life, which they are not, which is a shame. Sam has the most wonderful manners that the saying, ‘Manners maketh the man’ apply to him. He must have a wonderful mother as she taught him perfect manners. I love him and am a 71 yr old Scot. What a man!
They are asking what we love about Outlander. For me, it's the scenery, the accents, and Sam's physique! Not to mention his eyes, his way of protecting Claire, as Jamie.
I love Outlander because it not only makes history come alive, but the love between Claire and Jamie is the biggest attraction for me and my family. Excited to see what's going to happened with the Fraser's in America and the upcoming Revolutionary War. The characters are amazing!
So idk what I was doing with my life when season 1 came out but I only recently discovered Outlander last week on Netflix. WOW. I've completely fallen in love with the show it's the best! Binged seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix starting last Thursday and then proceeded to buy a Starz subscription so I could watch the rest. Finished it up today (Tuesday) and I have no regrets. I can't wait for season 5 to come out! Hopefully I can bare watching week by week =D
Me too!!! I did the exact same thing, went straight from Netflix to Starz and bought a subscription..I’m in love with this show😩 Im on season 4 right now, I heard that Season 5 comes out in 2020😪 I’m going to feel so lost till then
@@XxX-wh8sw Apparently, you are not "the lone ranger" in this. ;) Seems there are many of us that just had not gotten around to the joy and wonder of Outlander! I only started watching about a month ago.....I started season 4 this weekend....and have consoled myself that when I finish it this weekend, I will just begin watching it over from the beginning until season 5 comes out in February! The cast of this whole series is incredible, as is the writing, producing, and oh how I dearly love the music! I would love to write the Bear McCreary to tell him how the music touches my heart in every episode! I hope they will not tire of making this show as they did in Downton Abbey and now also Poldark. :( It seems the British series/actors don't aspire to long running shows as they do here in the U.S. (i.e. NCIS: 16 seasons!) Would anyone watch Outlander that long? Oh...how I would LOVE to watch it continue to grow......as long as they didn't kill off Jamie and Claire.....
I just started watching Outlander, recently, due to shoulder surgery(#5) and thought what should I binge watch..I had heard so much about this show and I thought "what the hell"..omg the first time around was rough..gritty and brutal..I watch it again and I love it..
My VERY favorite character hands down is Murtagh played by Duncan Lacroix. He is absolutely brilliant and steals the scenes every time for me - one of the best supporting actors in the entire series!
Leaving him alive was the greatest change in this series. Duncan plays the hell out of his character. I loved him the minute he save Claire from the very first episode
@@annemarie8483 Yes, this was one of the first instances shown where Murtagh's intuition/perception was spot on yet also surprising. He knew at that point that Claire (or someone like her) was the right match for Jaimie--even before she did. Given how his character is presented--ruthless, gruff, quiet, not afraid to kill to protect--one would not expect this level of insight. But that quality is consistently there whenever he is in a scene, highlighting him as a deep, intelligent, complex man.
I'm an "OUTLANDER" virgin - Two months now. Discovered it on Netflix and had to buy the seasons 1-4. Obsessed is the word. This program surpasses GOT which I was also late to the party. This is sooo much better. It's relatable. Especially the supernatural and time travel angle, I'm was in. I watch the first two seasons fives times before I got the rest. lol. MEN pay attention Jamie is what women want a man to be like. Cudo's to those who do watch. 'REAL MEN WATCH OUTLANDER" :)
Haha, like Jamie too, I willl like to see how the original writer portrayed the character/personality AND (love lines) of Jamie, especially if he was actually a virgin in the midst of men like Rufus etc who were not and openly boasted of it.
Sola Olaniyi He was a virgin indeed! His looks are also almost perfectly portrayed , at least compared to the way I had imagined him while reading. His lines are in fact also very similar, some are dropped in the series but I mean, it is TV, you can’t expect them to follow every step of the way. All the important bits of him and his character are included though.
Best thing ive ever seen on TV...wonderful & addictive. Caitriona Balfe has to be the best actress on the planet ...So unbelievably brilliant,. But then the whole cast are fantastic....Great show.
Y0UNG GVTS allow me to explain Outlander is the name of the show When you’re out of something you could say maybe you’re in a drought So it’s like a pun, outlander, droughtlander, get it? Cause we’re out of outlander right now
I loved it because I am able to get an idea how my ancestors lived. Part of the show was filmed at the Huntar Castle that my Hunter Clan built way back. The real love relationship between Claire and Jamie is portrayed so real it makes me wonder if such a love truly exists. The closeness of family and friends back then is so amazing.
This is hands down my absolute favorite show😩the story line, the experience of different cultures. And mainly Jamie & Claire’s love story..nothing tops it. I can’t wait for Season 5!!!!
There was a definite chill in the air from Cait towards Sam. And he knew it. But all friends have rough spots from time to time. They also have to go to great lengths to demonstrate that they are not together, now that she is committed to someone else. The old flirty ways are no longer appropriate. Things change. But Jamie and Claire are still Jamie and Claire.
I love how this show transports you to whatever time they are in. With the costumes, the scenery and the actors as they adjust as well to what the 'time' suggests. But the love scenes, well, simply the most the enveloping and moving parts of the show, giving you the feeling that all is possible when you are joined as 'one'.
I can't get enough of this series. I binged watched it for days. I LOVE period pieces whether fiction or non-fiction. The acting is superb - story lines believable and at times gut wrenching. Waiting on next episodes....
Hardworking, talented cast. Beautifully created, accurate interior design. All the accoutrements, and costumes are on target as well. The icing on the cake is the back ground music. What talented people! “Outlander” will forever become part of Scotland’s history. Many thanks.
I truly love this show...it’s rich in history and romance as well as good story telling. There’s ❤️ love, drama, comedy, romance and suspense. There’s cliffhangers and they keep you on your toes hanging on to the beautiful words...Jamie Fraser is smoldering hot 😫🤗😭
It’s really an amazing discussion.I like the question about what really attracts so many Outlander fans.Maybe a lot of people will agree with me ,this is a timeless, universal story of humans strive for love and happiness,a happy family, the basic cell in every society, where a man and a woman love and trust each other. Beautifully recreated by Cat and Sam,they one whole,in sex ,in work,in growing up children,in war. So much of these family values are lost nowadays, perhaps that’s why I crave for watching the films over and over again. I can’t wait for the next season.Thank you from my heart ,SAM and 😘
It's actually an incredible challenge for the writers to make love/marriage work between a fresh-from-world-war independent non christian 20th century woman and a older century moral-ish christian man whos not just English but a fully traditional Scot! Love won out in the end. Helpful that Jamie was in love from Day 1 without fully realising it and Claire was subconscoiusly infatuated-in the beginning. By Day3- they were an inseperable pair with such a strong bond unparalledlled in the fiction-world! Kudos to the Original Authour DG and the writers. I dont know by how much Book and Tv are same but am very much looking forward to reading...
I have just finished watching seasons one and two on Netflix. How wonderful. I loved every moment! I had no idea there were three more seasons ahead and looking forward to being able to maybe watch them on Netflix someday.
Thanks for uploading! There were some great performances from everyone this season but for me Richard Rankin is most deserving of an award. His portrayal of the challenges Roger goes through was outstanding, I can't wait for season five (more challenges for Roger!)
Oh boy! That accent just kills me....swoon! Richard and Sam make me want to move to Scotland. Annnnd, yes Outlander books and the way the writers and producers are bringing the story to life is amazing. As a long time follower of the story I was worried the show would ruin it for me but thankfully they have created the show in such a loyal way (even with a few changes) that have made the story even better. Will be interesting to see how the show ends the series given that Diana Gabaldon is still adding books to the series. I will keep on watching. Bravo Starz for taking a chance on this little story.
You know, for 'Fifty Shades' I read all the books and when they came out with the movies, I was disappointed because the characters did not live up to my imagination (come to think of it, these characters would have worked). Anyway, I decided to do this differently, watch all the seasons/episodes and then read all the books. Hoping it will work better that way...
@@susandi3841 Hi Susan, I'm doing the exact same thing. The only difference is I'm reading the book that the series was based on after the end of each season. I love them both. Some things I like how it was done in the show better, and some things I like how it was written in the book better. I do love the fact that I have these wonderful actors to picture while I'm reading the books. I'm currently re-reading book 2, then 3 and 4 before season 5 starts. I hope you enjoy as much as I do. :o)
@@jennnunya1224 thats interesting...I willl like to read the books and see how the original writer portrayed the character/personality AND (love lines) of Jamie, especially if he was actually a virgin in the midst of men like Rufus etc who were not and openly boasted of it.
Sola Olaniyi He was a virgin in the books as well. He was brought up with very high moral values. Jamie was just returning from France, when they encantar Clair, right after she went through the atoms. 😊
They would have had to recast the actress who plays Jenny. Laura Donnelly wasn’t available at the time, so they changed the seen to accommodate Jenny’s absence.
In the UK, in 2021, seasons 1 through 5 are available on Amazon Prime! Binge and re-binge :) At the moment (spring 2021) they're filming season 6 in Scotland. So looking forward to seeing that season aired (summer/autumn 2022?). Starz regularly posts info, short clips of B-roll and of conversation with the cast to tease us and give fans who hunger for more, what they long for. Thank you Starz
Its mind blowing to see Caitriona and Sam sitting so far apart. Dynamics have changed as both actors are dating others. However, the separation between the two is so notable.
@@marvastewart2955 THEY MEAN HOW FAR APART THEY ARE SITTING, THEY ARE USUALLY UP ON EACH OTHER BUT CAIT IS ENGAGED, AND LIKE I SAID A MONTH AGO ABOVE MATURITY AND I WILL NOW ADD RESPECT
I was just about to say the same thing. I haven't watched one of their interviews in a while but there's a body and even body language distance between Catriona and Sam. They used to be so friendly and chummy.
Yes it is silly, they suppose to be professionals actors, what is changed they say Caitriona is with her partners since 2014 that if we believe all the shit printed about them, but yes it’s obvious it’s not the same friendship, l am getting a little fed up with it, l will not watch seasons five in the same way??????
Sophie is so damn cute💕 I love her and the way she handled the difficult things Brianna went through this season. Her performance in 408 and 409 gave me goosebumps and broke my heart for Brianna. She’s amazing🤧🤧
My all time favorite show! Thanks to all involved in making it possible for bringing it to life for us obsessed fans. Everyone is amazing and please keep up the good work! ❤️❤️❤️
All the questions about "How did you feel in that scene?" or "do you have chemistry with each other in real life?" Are all "Are the feelings portraited in the show REAL??" are all stupid questions and are met with disappointing answers such as "No, I don't even remember that scene" or "No. We were just acting. That's what we get paid to do. We just say some lines and make ourselves cry, that's all." Guys, I hate to break it to you but......it's all pretend!
LOVE THOSE SOX, RICHARD! When they talked about how the fashions seem to have a bit of a look from the time period the character is from, I have to say that that red dress Claire wore when she and Jamie were living in Paris was my favorite! That dress really had a 20th century flavor.
I started watching Outlander when I was overseas and homesick for Scotland & the UK 3 years ago. Became completely hooked and loved the historical markers, references to paganism and old medicine the within the show. It has rekindled my interest in Scottish & British history. Acting is amazing...great choice of actors! Love the chemistry between Jamie and Clare ( Sam & Catriona). Favourite seasons: 1 of course and also 2nd, the french season....was also very moving when Claire returned to Jamie in Edinburgh and also when Jamie & Brianna first meet! Fantastic!! Don't miss it..check it out!!
I like the days when Sam and Catriona would tease each other, but that is not happening anymore! However they will always be special as Jamie and Claire to me!
Same here I notice as if they don't know each other they are not closed anymore like they used to.be very very closed and happy on their interview each time did Cait marry her fiance Tony McGil?
Amazing panel with a really good and smart interviewer! Really appreciated the discussions, especially the in depth discussion about how historically real this season was. Brilliant quote from Cait: "Yes, I completely agree that I should be a second class citizen. Yes, this is great slavery for me."
world outlander day. WOW. I just found Outlander on Netflix in August and started reading the books sometime in October. I love period pieces and this show is so good.
Ok I had to come back to say the costumes the settings and the People of this series for that time and erra everthing was so on Point. So real .I didn't care for movies series at all like this but I really got into this one ,I might be a little late on it but I love the series.Mrs. P
With all due respect, Most of the questions are season 2 questions. Thanks for the questions about the settings tho because that is all new. Now that season 5 is in production, I believe the question of what is under a kilt has been covered. What is interesting is that the actors have chosen to wear the kilt "traditionally".
Surprisingly Caitriona was keeping herself away from Sam the whole time, while Sophie was sitting quite close to Sam. you can even see Caitriona was crossing her arms at 27:13 after the conversation between Sophie and Sam, bizarre.
Is Caitrionia wearing a wedding band? I just noticed two rings, an engagement ring and another gold ring on the same finger. If so, good for her. Just wondering.
The irony as never met my biological father who was called Frank but my da who adopted me married my mum was called Jamie...both them macdonalds and am Scottish. Irony doesn't phase me anymore as I had had an amazing adoptive dad Jamie, sadly no longer here taken too soon. An amazing father he was. x
If I'd ever met my biologicl father I would shake his hand as I got brought up by an amazing adoptive da in Scotland, sadly only here in this erth until age 48 when he passed suddenly. He was the best da ever. x
But, its just a wee bit of fun. If you go to a wedding it a kilt you must be on your guard, every young woman will try to lift it. Just for a wee bit of fun. I’m a Scottish man, you must be on yer guard. Even sitting is awkward.
This series is addictive but I must admit there were some very graphic scenes in the prison w/ Black Jack & Jamie where I had to fast forward those scenes, it was painful to watch.
Yep, fast forwarded and when I re-watched I skipped the episode before it too.... from the way everyone has dodged talking about it I think they realize they went too far.
Caitriona is so articulate. 🙂 I love her explanations. Maybe I'm not interpreting things correctly but Sam seems to not respect what Richard says. I've noticed that in other interviews, too. He seems to do not just with words but his body language as well. I don't know what's going on there but I hope I'm wrong.
Compared to other interviews and panels Caitríona is hardly talking here or answering questions. But wow just flying over there for one panel and then back... I'd be dead.
A giant hook should descend to remove anyone who asks that stupid question ever again.Barring that, Starz should prohibit the question from being asked. God knows it's been asked too many times already.
Wouldn't do for someone to ask me "what's under my kilt." If they did I'd simply bend down raise up the hem and say, "wanna see what's under here?" Get a life!
I agree. It's started going down for me in season 3. The 1700s were great but the 60s, not so much and Jamie's story is much more interesting. I wish Brianna had spent more time in the Highlands too
The same for me!!! Some times was desperating watching this series!!! So predictable and repeatable!!! I just couldn't stand it!!! And Sam's character some times is soooo stupid!!! Aaaaaarrrrggghhhhh!!!!!
@@felixmonica02 That is because they are more interested in highlighting female leadership. In the books, Jamie maintains his leadership and independence. He is not only Claire's bodyguard.
Mónica F I read the Books ....The writers...to make Clair...strong and liberated, took a lot of important lines from Jamie ‘s carácter, making him look week and unimportant to the story.... The 4th Season was all about ...HEROINE Dr & Surgen Clair Fraser....Roger & Brianna...Victims of Jamie’s temper....Never mind...that, Jamie’s actions...were due to Clair’s laying to him,...about Brianna’s circumstances.🤔😢
Irishharper I’m pretty surprised that they took three days to upload this 30 minute panel and didn’t provide subtitles for other countries watching or hard of hearing fans. 🤷🏼♀️
I wear hearing aids, and always greatly appreciate whenever CC is included. I rely on it heavily. Even more so whenever there are people with accents, or rapid speech or who speak softly.
@@christinakimmelman3536 I know and it's frustrating...I also wish they would CC the bit after the episode where they talk about the episode.. and people sometimes wonder why I prefer the books... it really makes me consider if keeping Starz is worth it...
@@evelynwashere13 Cait said those scenes got her that ring when she first got engaged. Tony has reason to be jealous but if that is the only reason she got that ring that is not good but I wish her the best
Could they all be victims of jet lag? After all, the actors were in the middle of production and flew over for this, only to turn around and fly back afterwards. With that kind of travel schedule, think almost anyone would lose their spark... And that marriage to Tony is fake, Sam and Cait have been married to each other since 2015--details over on Tumblr...
Unfortunately, completely lost. They are not the same anymore. I was desapoited with fourth season and I think I am not going to see another season more.
Outlander is a great love story, with an excellent leading couple (Sam and Caitriona), but in my opinion, during the 4th season the producers and writers did a very bad job! Sam your my favorite and you look great!
They just drug it out so long where nothing really happened , watching Roger being dragged thru the countryside for to many episodes was ridiculous, I was like damn get on with it !
Yeah, it almost felt like they were setting things up for Brianna and Roger to take the reins and I was thinking, Lord, please no, I don't like Brianna's character. I had no idea she wasn't American because she sounds just like those kids on those annoying teenage shows, like Smallville, Flash, etc. Just overly dramatic, lol. They were good shows in their lane but I don't feel like Outlander's that place. Her behavior with Jamie was ridiculous. I'm going to read the books but I hope she's not as abrasive and annoying in the books.
I am so glad to see I am not alone, it's truly addictif, the music is just oustanding & yes i felt butterflies in my heart, not because i fell in love with Jamie but I fell in love with the couple, the story, the pains & happiness they both went through, now that I know others feel like me, I feel less guilty or ashame??? at the end of each episodes, I kept telling myself??? get out of it it's only a fairy tales??? I must tell the Author, thank you for writting such a beautiful story, keep on dreaming others
I’ve watched the whole series twice in French version because I live in France. Gosh, James Scottish accent is so strong that I prefer to watch each episode in French version. His real accent is what I prefer. 😘 But I’m still a big fan of JamClaire couple!😘
I genuinely think sam and cait simply don't show their friendship in interviews anymore because of all the rumors and speculation it brings with it, because to this day they still say they're great friends and have been since the very beginning but they just don't show that in interviews anymore but are still great friends behind the scenes, they had no problem being close back in the day in interviews because they didn't know better and didn't know how crazy fans get, now that they know they're careful (everyone says it's because she's married now but she has been with her now husband since 2015 I'm pretty sure so that wouldn't make sense)
They still show their friendship behind the scenes. In public, Cait does avoid touchy feely. Perhaps she’s taken criticism of her putting Sam down with her naughty sense of humor
