Jen, You are not alone. I can't seperate it because it's the same story. I'm actually broken hearted from the loss of depth, the loss of relationships, the loss of all the emotions and most of all the lost of world building. In the books, Outlander is a living breathing character it is sad so many will never understand that. I'm at a total lost for words. Dont get me wrong show fans are getting a treat with this adaption. However, I consider it a "good" show. I wanted it to be a "great" or " a "epic" show because the material definately is, therefore it had the potential to be. TV show fans (only) are walking away with about 65% of this epic story. I feel sorry for non readers. And I believe we are in for more hurt feelings to come.

When Roger says... What the Devil, I think,Jemmy sees Ian and they didn't go anywhere! Jem probably was thinking about everyone so they came right back. Claire told Gellis in S3 that you have to concentrate on where you want to be and Jemmy has more energy then Roger and Bree do.

i think they might go back to the time when Jamies dad was still alive- you know that scene in lallybroch? Jemmy seems to be looking at the celtic looking kern thing. I know this wouldn't work in the books, but this is the TV show after all. Maybe they ended up in Scotland - you know the Scene from "my own hearts blood"?

@@liabe18 Yes, they do things differently in the show than the books. However, the show has established that the 'portals' only go from one TIME to another, not one PLACE to another. They could not have traveled through the stones to Lallybrock to meet Black Brian.

There is no need to apologize for feeling so passionate about Outlander. I understand completely. I am one of those people who likes the shows better when they stay close to the book. I am still not over all the time they took with Brianna getting to Scotland and staying with Loaghaire and not the Frasers. Screamed at the TV - this is not the story! Diana's favourite episodes of Season 5 are Episodes 1, 7, 9 and 12. I was confused that she did not choose 11, because she wrote it. But, having seen it. I get it. I was holding my breath, thinking something would happen to prevent Bree and Roger from leaving. But, sadly, we will just have to wait and see what happens next. I also just recently discovered your videos and love them all. I love how passionate you are about the books and the TV show. Stay Well and Safe! Big hugs!

One thing I've found in the series that never fails is the actors chosen for these roles. All these characters are right on as I've seen them in my head. Love, love them all even though the show deviates from the books. Diana is amazing! Good review.

Glenda Moody very true and quite honestly, even though its not the same since Ron left., the actors are sublime. When I watch Sam and Caitriona, I only See Claire and Jamie. There are not many shows that give me that kind of utter escape. I won’t mourn the show going away as much as I will mourn not seeing those two on screen together ever again.

Agree. Funny, but it's rich weaving of who these characters are and their relationships and actions that keep me reading and rereading and it's the actors' portrayals of these characters that keeps me watching even though the show has fallen short in weaving the relationships. I am so afraid that season 6 is going to be the last and book 8 is my favorite (other than 1).

Just hearing the name Hodgepile gives me chills knowing what's coming. If this show doesn't win a dozen Emmys this season, something is seriously wrong. The makeup on the burned child was so real looking it was truly shocking. Just brilliant.

Yeah. Hodgepile is a freaking evil person. I did see from the trailer of next week that they have her locked in a room. So I wonder how that will be different. Like, are they taking her to hold her hostage in Brownsville? Its just different, since in the book it was a spur of the moment thing to kidnap her.

I really appreciated your candidness in your recap of the show. Can i just say that many of us "feel" your frustration with the show. I can only share that I started my journey with Outlander sometime in 2000. I was traveling for work a lot and I always would carry a big book to read. I had picked up the Fiery Cross and was about to read on a flight - a very long flight. A flight attendant noticed and spoke to me. She asked me if I had read the other books and I told her I had not. She said, Don't read this until you have read the previous ones. That is exactly the fire I needed to start a series. I just had no idea what a journey! I have to say that I know the difference between the books and the show. I respect the fact that time is limited in the shows and I truly believe that they want to keep the audience captive - very similar to GOT (which I only watched). I have read the books I think 3 or maybe 4 times. There is some much content in each book that I find myself referencing back from the show. Don't be too hard on yourself you are surrounded by sisters!

I absolutely love your passion for the characters, their relationships, experiences... and the books. I had similar feelings to what you described in your review. I couldn't believe Roger, Bree, and son were leaving so soon. I don't understand why. I also don't think they ended up back in their time... I think they are in another time period... maybe they see the Big House at the Ridge burnt down. They have a look of devastation on their faces. And the abduction of Claire doesn't make sense in the way that it happened. I remember it in the book and how frightening it was because Claire and Marsile were alone far from the their home at the Ridge. That whole experience in the book went on for a very long time before Jamie rescued her. I have a hard time separating the tv show from the book too. I just have to accept they are two different art forms and that the tv show is a loose adaptation of the book. I am so sad to see so many characters leave. I cried throughout the episode realizing all the loss... Lord John, Ulysses, Roger, Bree, their son. I felt very sad. I wasn't emotionally ready for all of this to happen. When Claire was looking at the portraits Bree had drawn and left on her bed Jamie said "we aren't alone".... well, it sure felt like it to me. I felt he wasn't connected to the loss and loneliness Claire was feeling in that moment. I resonated with her feelings and still do.
@TheBookRefuge
@TheBookRefuge 4 года назад
Yeah. I guess it hurts me so bad that they are leaving, because in the book they would NEVER do that. The only thing that induces them to go home is the birth of their child who needs medical attention. The show keeps saying "they are living outside their time." That's not how it is in the book, the Past IS their time. Its when they go back to the future that they feel out of time. SO the fact that all it takes is Jem being sensitive to gems and they rush to leave.... naw, sorry. Not my Roger and Bree.

The way I approach the show is: 1. knowing they can never get all Diana's wonderfully amazing content in, not enough time. 2. Hope that the content that they then choose, stays true to Diana's story. I feel problems arrive when they deviate/rewrite storyline, and When they don't stay true to the written character. I know some things can't be helped (actor availability, locations, and such)but, why mess with a good thing?

I'm having a lot of the same feelings as you. There were aspects of this episode that I really enjoyed (the way Jamie and Roger communicated with each other at the Dutchman's cabin, Claire's hot flash, the microscope scene, and the whole family eating PB&&J together) since they were some of the more mundane quiet moments that make the characters seem like real people with real relationships with other characters. There were scenes that were not in the book, but I thought worked well given characters that have been developed in the show (Ian confronting Jamie and Claire, Ian wanted to travel, Lizzie thinking she was also going to Boston, and everything with Ulysses). Then there are the showrunners steamrolling through the books to get to the next big action sequence. Do those just watching the show know who the Bugs are? Can they name anyone else on the ridge beside the immediate family and Lizzie? I feel like this is a huge part of the book that show watchers are missing (the Christies, Bearsleys, McGillivrays, the Crombies, etc. all bring their own drama that sometimes makes it way to the big house... especially as Roger starts to follow his calling to be a minister). I also feel like there are major plot points they've skipped over, the biggest of which is the Frenchman's Gold. In the show, they established that Jocasta and Hector left Scotland with it, but after that, they dropped it. Also, I agree having Claire gets attacked in her own house makes no sense. There are enough people on the ridge that somebody should have stopped them or gotten Jamie immediately. If they didn't want it to be at the still (since they never established that Marsali helped with the mash) then have Marsali and Claire get attacked as they're looking for herbs or eatable plants in the woods. I know why showrunners often have to change the structure and plotlines of a book to adapt it to the screen, and I thought Outlander did a great job in the first 2 seasons, an OK job in the 3rd season (I think they spent too much time in Boston and rushed everything in Jamacia), season 4 I felt they missed the books character development that happens in the book, and this season I feel like everything that happens is just to set up the next big action sequence (the book and character development be damned).
@TheBookRefuge
@TheBookRefuge 4 года назад
I agree 100% I don't get which story line they are so excited for in book 6. If they have already killed Bonnet, didn't introduce the Christies, haven't made the Gold a big deal.... The Revolution is still ages away. So I'm just confunded
@AKMorehouse
@AKMorehouse 4 года назад
The Book Refuge I feel like the next big action sequence for Roger, Bree, and Jemmy is tied to the gold (so who knows what they’re doing there). As for Claire, Jamie, and Ian beyond the stuff with Donner (which I’m assuming is in the next episode) and more stuff tied to the gold I feel like they steam rolled through a majority of the major action sequences happening between 1772 and 1777 since Jamie doesn’t get involved with the revolution until their first failed attempt to get his printing press back. Also since his press was not saved in season 3, what’s going to make Jamie, Claire, and Ian get back on a boat to lead them to the events of book 7? Also without Lizzie’s father or knowing what’s going on with her and the Beardsley brothers (or anyone really) why would Ian, Claire, and Jamie leave her at the Ridge? I feel like the lack of relationship building between characters and rushing through action sequences is leaving more plot holes than speeding the story along.

I started the books10 years ago. I was so excited when the show started on STARZ. It has been great watching the characters and places that I love come to life. It was amazing how the show made certain scenes look exactly how I imagined... like when Jamie rescued Claire from blackjack and said “ I’ll thank you to take your hands off my wife”.... and then how others things are completely different... but that’s ok. I have introduced the show to my sons and their girlfriends... and I love watching it with them and then telling them how it is different from the book. I do get upset when my favorite parts are omitted... like the real way roger came back to Bree. But I just guess they have to change things to make it better or easier for tv. I’m just glad we have their interpretations to watch, enjoy, and discuss!

Sister Jenn, I feel your pain! I am so glad I can "go back to Scotland" to season 1. By far the best! Season 5 my very least favorite on a whole. Love seeing Sam & Caitriona grow as actors, because they have and beautifully! Love the books, read them all & waiting for Bees. Way too much "other stuff" crammed into this season. Since ep1 S5 I felt EVERYTHING is too clean, too grand, too wealthy looking for Fraser's Ridge to be at this point in the story. The costumes are beautiful, but too beautiful. They didn't have that kind of money. No, they did not name Donner in the episode. Richard Brown made a point to mention Jamie's whisky still, so I think blowing up the still was not only from Brown's envy but also the ruse to get the menfolk outta the way. Lionel has hated Claire since first meeting, so taking her was personal, not ransom. Seeing Dr Rawlings nameplate just added fuel to his fire. William would be about 14 then (born in 1758), notice the miniature looked like actor Oliver Finnegan aged from season 4? Sorry, I thought actor Finnegan looked nothing like Jamie or Brianna, but that's me. While I feel both Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin are finally hitting their pace with their characters, Sam, Catriona & David Berry have been so perfect from the beginning, but lately seem "tired", which no one could blame them - they have grueling schedules/careers. I fear if this shutdown of the world goes much longer, season 5 may be the end of Outlander. Or as you say, season 6 will be the last. Please Diana Gabaldon, finish Bees, then write 3 or 4 more with Lord John and maybe some Adventures of William Ransom Lord Ellesmere

Jenn, I've had anxiety just thinking about watching this episode! Last week left me confused and wondering WTH! If they try to end it with season 6 I'll be very disappointed! Despite crying through the whole episode, because it was too sad, I'm yelling, they can't go yet! Mandy hasn't been born! So I think that what Jemmy sees when they come through the stones is Ian. I don't think they went forward or back. It just put them in the same time, because all they love is there at the Ridge. Silly to waste time doing that! I feel like they're rushing to get the series to end and I don't want it to end! Too much good stuff still to happen! I'm going to write Starz and let them know we want more seasons! Things are so crazy right now with this pandemic. I think that has a lot to do with how much I've cried through season 5. When it ends, what do I watch? They messed up Game of Thrones and ended it too early. I'll probably spend the summer re-reading everything! All the books, all the Lord John books again and maybe ASOIAF. So we just hang in there and focus on staying safe and well. I'm pretty sure Go Tell The Bee's will be out this year. DG is done writing it, it's going through the editing process right now. Sending you a virtual hug! Blessings dear girl! Everything will be okay🌞🌷🐿️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

When Starz first announced the TV series, I ran out an bought the first book and read it in a weekend! When I watched the first few epsiodes of Season 1, I realized that so much of the nuances of the relationships, the characters, etc. was not being captured. I started reading Voyager, but then stopped, because it was ruining the TV series for me. I just had to come to the realization that the TV series just wasn't going to have the nuances of the books. Once I got to that place.....I have been able to enjoy the TV series much more.

My heart breaks for the book lovers! I used to be a book/show/movie comparison geek but haven’t been able to read or listen to Outlander due to neuro Lyme disease. I love the show so much but I watch these recaps to get more info on how deep the books go. One thing I’d love to know - What are your theories on what Bree and Roger see when they come through the stones? Ian saw them leave....but could the stones have basically done a roundtrip since Claire says the stones draw you to whatever is on your mind? Perhaps Bree was grieving her love for her parents so the stones just spit them right out? I don’t know, though.....why go through all of that just to have them end up back at the ridge in 1772? Maybe they travel to 1776? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Natalie G I think that is what happens too to Brianna & family. I hope it is Ian that is standing right there that Jemmy ran to! I had read every available book before the series was created, and was SO excited about it. The show runners seemed to be coming from a place of genuine admiration for the series, believed in it, and had a relationship with Diana. It seemed like a great fit. That said, there are only a handful of episodes in the entire series that have felt “Outlander” to me. (I still watch episodes 1 & 3 from the first season because they were perfect, for example.) Season 1 was disappointing because Jamie wasn’t allowed to be “The King of Men” that he was from the start, and it was the Frank show. (Tobias Menzies was great, but c’mon! And OMG, why “The Search”?) One wouldn’t think that I am an Outlander fan for the sheer number of episodes that I have only watched once. But I have the same kind of connection to the characters and story from the source material that you do. I don’t know if you watched Game of Thrones, but millions of people will tell you that the story started going downhill when it got ahead of its source material, and the writers were writing a story that went from point A, to point B, to get to C. The character building that would have made some of the story possible or believable was gone when it was being written like a movie script, instead of just taking the time in the telling of a good story. This is where i feel like Outlander is heading. There are too many writers, with too many ideas about how to get their piece of the story board done (IMO). The continuity of the story seems fragmented, in part because all of the adventures and hardships of the Fraser’s have, at their heart, the love and character of the people in the story. You cannot tell this story by plotting it out on a storyboard, and just sprinkling in a few details from the book to keep fans happy. Those “details” are the heart of the books. And so while i both do not envy the people plotting out of this story for a very specific timeline, I also feel like the writers should HAVE to read the source material and stay true to it. A tv show that is adapted from a book does have an obligation to have the source material be its North Star. When it cannot get the spirit of its characters right, even if the rough letter of the story is being followed, it has lost its compass. Or perhaps the show has just become unwieldy with “too many cooks”. These are just my opinions, and bless the people who love everything. I don’t have much advice for getting through the cognitive dissonance of being a book reader. Just have people to talk with, and enjoy the things that the show gets right in feel. The actors and casting is wonderful, for example. There are people who really believe in Outlander, too, so there is always hope for it to embrace its character driven heart for the next seasons. And I do hope that there will be enough seasons to tell this story. I feel your pain about the adaptation often being disappointing, but if we didn’t love the books so much, we wouldn’t care about it at all. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

I agree! They loved Tobias Menzies way too much! And they took every opportunity to make him sympathetic and lovable. Which frustrates me so much. I love Tobias Menzies too! Have you seen the crown, season 3? But still. Outlander isn't about him. He didn't deserve to have his wife taken, but he wasn't a saint sitting around waiting for her to come home. Ugh. Anyway. I have seen GoT but not read the books, so I know what you mean, they just wanted to be clever and upend expectations so badly that it was a joke by the end. It was a travesty how that amazing show was derailed. It kills me if that be the fate of Outlander.

That attempt will be successful because it could be a matter of life and death.

I keep my expectations exceptionally low. I wanted the microscope scene and I got it. I wonder if they would branch out more with lesser characters in the book if that would make a difference. I personally think the real detriment they have is a lack of character depth. I know it's a drama but I miss the little moments of humor more than I expected to. We loved TV Murtagh because they gave him depth. Not sure why they can't do that for the rest of them. I've only read 25% of book 6 and I don't care about spoilers. It's all about the journey to me, not the destination.

Hello. I just watched my first episode breakdown of yours. Came across it as I went to You Tube video breakdowns. I appreciated your take to this wonderful love story. I agree with you totally on the fact that this wonderful love story was !!!! over ever since Ron Moore walked away. It hasn't been the same since. These two Yahoo's killed it. I live for the books now and emagin Sam and Caits character takes. I'm not looking forward to the possibility of another rape in Claire s storyline. And the three never left. Jem was too strong in his power and wanted the family back at Ridge. Remember you have to control your feelings to where you want to go. Thanks again 😊

I agree- didn’t like the way they did that “hurry up and go home” thing with Roger, Brianna and Jemmy. I think they didn’t actually go back though. I think it’s hopefully just a way they wanted to separate them from Jamie and Claire so Claire could be captured without them around maybe? I think maybe they will say they were thinking of home (current with Jamie and Claire) or maybe Jemmy’s thoughts steered them back to same place and time.....and then that’s why it did not “work” to go back to the future. Then maybe the actual way they return (books, Mandy situation etc.) comes to pass. Don’t be sorry for being sad or frustrated. It is frustrating when they do things different, (major differences). It’s hard to keep them separate honestly, I love the books. But for the most part, for me, it’s nice to see everything come to screen in real life, even if there are big things I don’t agree with them changing :) thanks for posting these. I hardly see videos for Outlander content (books or show) here so it’s nice to see someone making the discussion videos!

True, it would be far less likely for anyone from the Ridge to go to Scotland and 'run into' Bree and Rodger in the 18th century. However, your being so adamant about Boston is SO wrong! It wasn't until the advent of the automobile that any but the richest people traveled more than a mile or two away from their home, ever, in their entire lives! So saying they were going to Boston would be a good idea.

Still, I remember the key plot points and expect them to be "hit" for each season/book. I feel so bad for you regarding the unfolding of this episode, realizing what they have done. In answer to your question of how to separate show from book- For me comparing the two was creating so much anxiety while watching that I had to give over to the show and forget the flow of the book. I think you are in an impossible position given you are doing a review. BTW they do not mention Donner's name. Also the way this episode went makes me think even more that season 6 will be the last.

Like you, I'm (what I have dubbed) a founding fan...books first..😏you know...cause they were😄. I 👏 those who have been inspired by the show to dig deeper & get the books/digital/audio...whatev. I completely understand where you are coming from! That said, I think Bree and Roger didn't make it because of Jemmy. He is too little to understand, or to have a concept of where they "need" to go, therefore, he was thinking of his home, and they went back. Don't know why they made the attempt, but maybe all will be explained. I hope we get baby Mandy, and the real reason R and B have to go through. But, i also think they may be thinking that they have to complete all 8 books within their 6 seasons, either because they know they only get 6 (or actors have said they won't do more) or they want to be safe and condense the 8 books into 6 seasons. Then, maybe R and B go back, have Mandy in the 80s, and of course, have to then go back to protect Jemmy. thus finishing the whole show with the same ending as we got in WIMOHB. That way, if they do get more seasons, they can base those on book 9, but if not, they can finish the show pretty neatly. WIMOHB, other than Willie's angst, was a pretty good/happy ending. That would be a ton to fit into only one more season, and mean we would lose SO much, but, we already have. *sigh* I think the implication of the reasons for kidnapping Claire could be fleshed out later, possibly not until season 6. IE, they rescue her in the season finale, but details come out in the next season to explain why, other than that she has convinced Rose not to have sex with her husband, (or so her husband obviously thinks) But, I have a feeling, either way, if Roger and Bree are still in 1700s, he and Ian will be part of rescuing Claire. The frustration of not getting a season 6 for an extended period of time is still hitting me.

What about Amanda? They need more episodes each season. They struggle to fit too much into too short of a season. Season 1 was the best because they had 16 glorious episodes. The books are long and are worth more time on screen to develop their importance. I’m beginning to feel a little off balance as the show progresses. I’m rereading the Fiery Cross along with the show. I hope they somehow redeem themselves in the finale. JHRC!

I really like the actor, but he looks nothing like Roger in the book to me. That is the hardest thing for me watching the show. I realize " like you" that they won't be able to put everything in the show. I read the books 10 years ago so I'm loving your recaps of the books that you do. So much detail that I had forgotten. I am with you... They took out a lot of story lines that I have really enjoyed and I mean if they do go into the Lizzie story more next season who is going to marry her to the other twin? These things are driving me crazy and come on really wanted the what are balls scene with Jemmy, Roger and Jamie. So many little fun story lines cut out and I am so upset about it. Even more upset than season one when Frank and Claire elope instead of being married in the same church that she ends up marrying Jamie in. It is hard to separate the two and with other seasons I have been able to because either what they did made me happy like Murtaugh or weren't so different just condensed versions of the story but they have cut out a good couple of years that we had with Bri and Roger in the books here. When they go back in the books Jemmy is actually old enough for school and remembers so much and I don't think he will now. Just not happy right now.

I have read the first 4 books and I am now working my way slowly through The Firey Cross so that I don't get ahead of the show. Brianna & Roger's decision to go back to the future seemed strange to me ONLY because I had heard spoilers saying that they would not go back until after their next child was born. Therefore I had a problem believing that they were actually going, that something would stop them. If it hadn't been for that I think I would have enjoyed the episode for what it was. If they are really changing the story, it was smart to have Diana write it! Maybe some of the other spoilers won't happen either?

Okay, you need a big hug. I know you are sad, frustrated, angry, unsure insecure with where the TV show is going.....so am I. You are not alone by yourself. What are the doing to our beloved characters? Our story? 1. We know even if they slowed down they would not finish....Diana writes at such a slow pace. They have to work toward an end...at some point. So changes have to be made. And it comes down to money unfortunately. 2. I do not agree with everything the current show runner does. I preferred what Ron did. But there are a lot of folks involved who do care including Meryl. Don't tell me they haven't put apt of effort and thought process into the story arc. 3. Cait said they were signed/contracted for seven seasons. Will there be seven? Or six? We don't know what Sony/STARZ is wanting to spend. Brixet pulls funds away too. If there is only six seasons then Bree and Roger going back now makes sense. Because if we combine book 5/6 this season they can do revolutionary war book 7/8 with Bree and Roger coming back for a happier ever after. If there is a season 7 then we can get more into the time travel stuff and what ever is in book 9 in it. I recall Cait saying in an interview that it is frustrating for her, as a book reader and fan of the books when things are left out or changed. I too get frustrated and have a hard time in reconciling the books and the Show. I started to read them years before the show. What I try to do in my head is pretend the parts I mis happen. I morph the two. For example the thought in Claire's mind...."here too lies an honorable man" in Voyages.....or how Claire decides to go back to Jamie.....and the conversation in book 4 where they talk about Bree and Jamie realizes they are talking about Frank. So I imagine they happened.... Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. And you know more was good than bad in this episode. Will be Lord John be back in the TV....not sure. There is a lot up in the air. Okay one other scenario....they finish the show at where we are in the books. Do a Lord John season or two? And finish up Outlander???? Maybe Bree and Roger will go back to 1739...where Roger went back in the books and meets Jamie's father? Hmmmm we shall see. It is 1977 in her time. She returns back in 1980's. Hmmmm. Take a deep breath, be patient. The real Claire and Jamie is set in stone in the books. It might not be so bad. In the show.

How did your channel not pop up on my youtube before?? Anyway, love the way u explain and spoil. I have lightly skimmed the books. So I'm ok with spoilers and comparisons with the books, so THANKS for that. I understand your frustration, but I'm ok with how they sped up the storyline for the Ed Speelers character. And how they kept Murtagh. You are the second channel that says this will end with season 6, but not sure where you got that from? I distinctly remember a Comicon maybe 2 years ago and both Caitriona and Sam said they would have a job for a long time cause there are 10 books. Let's just take a deep breath and trust that they will put in all of the characters relationships back on track. I will say, Diana's content is veeeeery precise and just too copy heavy for the show. Ok enough of my rant, sorry. I don't think they ( Bree and Co.) went anywhere lol, cause they foreshadowed Bree meeting her brother. I loooooved this episode and i cried so many times. I wish Diana would do 2 episodes a season. Can't wait for the finally!

Hello and welcome! Haha, well, I've just started to get more popular with the Outlander community, so that could be why. haha! Well, there is a few reasons I think it will end soon. Mind, I don't WANT that to happen, just hints that it will. My main reason is about how they are rushing through things. If they were going to have 10 seasons, I feel like they wouldn't need to rush through what they are. Because Diana isn't even done with book 9, and she is years away from book 10. They last 2 books took 6 years each to be written. They would easily catch up. No that they can't pull a GoT and make the show ahead of her, but I don't feel like they would risk it after what went down at HBO. Also, the ratings have gone steadily down. People can say the ratings don't matter, or that they don't track it correctly, but tv is a business, and the numbers DO matter. Also, Sam and Cat's contracts were for 7 years, but that can always change when its TV. So, its not that they can't get a pick up later on, I just see them rushing to finish certain story lines that they would not need to do if they had the time. In the current timeline they are following, we are 4 years away from the Revolutionary War and there are literal SCORES of characters they have left out who are very important to major plots in books 6-8.. So who knows. At the end of the day, this is just a vibe I am getting. We are probably 2 years away from finding out if Season 6 is the last. What with productions being delayed now and then the actual release of season 6. Things could change quite a bit. But this is the evidence for my feeling that way.

Seeing you so emotional I think you should stop watching because it’s clear the episodes won’t satisfy you. I love the series soo freakin much and have started the books but it won’t change my love for the show.

Nope, I'll be watching and reviewing until it shrivels up and dies. Then I will go back to my books for satisfaction. But you are welcome to ignore my rants if they upset you

Haven't you gotten used to how TV shows always managed to screw up everything nice about any story lines? Look at how game of thrones ended & I knew that the same exact thing would happen in Outlander right after the first episode, the only one I really enjoyed from this season, the rest are very boooooring.
