I think we need a reality check and think that Jamie could be the ww2 Scottish soldier Claire mention to Frank , when Frank asked did she fall in love with anyone while away nursing. Claire could be portraying him in her coma dreams from the car accident and dreaming of a past life. Wouldn't that be more realistic and give them a chance in the final to have their babies. Bitter Sweet for us .

Pity they didn't find someone who actually resembles Jamie.

Seriously? If that was the case why do we see so much from other people's points fo view. In later books there are massive parts of the books which have nothing at all to do with Claire. Diana is far too good a writer to use the "it was all a dream" cop out!

Let see how Willie will turn out if we see more of him but I have to agree. Fergus is just amazing and he's my favorite too, when Jamie gives him his name, I always close to tear up.

You know I've been wondering how Fergus's life would have been if he hadn't met Jamie in the Novel of Diana Gabaldon's "Written in my own Heart's Blood" he has lost a child in a house fire and a gentleman searches for him to no avail for enquiry for being a millionaires lost Son back in France. And in "Seven Stones to Stand or Fall" a story in it called"A Space Between" Joan goes to France to be a Nun. So you see a chance there of Marsali visiting Joan in France, Do you see. I think in the final there's going to be a prequel and that's why the story is set up that way. On the Back of the "Seven Stones" book it says all stories are linked back to 1945 to Claire Randall. So it will work out a better life for his family and mother inlaw.

But also Fergus is the only one Jamie really raised among all of his children and we can see the result, a kind loving guy. If Willie would have been brought up by him, he probably wouldn't be as annoying even though John Grey is a stand up guy but his environment is quite aristocratic so it doesn't help bring down the kid's tendency to be condescending. And the mother was indeed difficult.

Unless they can get a teenage actor who looks like Sam Heaugh they are going to have to do some rewriting. Much of the later story relies on the fact that he looks so much like his father.

Edna Perhach Finn Jones would be perfect to play the adult William Ransom! His looks could pass for a combination of Jamie & Geneva, his hair is brown with the auburn highlights through it, and he has a red beard! Just like the books!

@@sharonrichards7656 Not a bad choice but he's a bit old. Willie is only around 19/20 in the latest books.

Finn is only 31 in real life, he could play a 20 yo. Sam Heughan was 34yo when portraying a 22-23yo. And Finn is blue-eyed too! The only problem I could think is his notoriety already, so what would his salary be? Budgets do have to be kept in any production I guess.

Here is a little summary of his character. William Ransom is the son of Geneva Dunsany and Jamie Fraser. Legally, he is the son and heir of Ludovic Ransom, Eighth Earl of Ellesmere, who was his mother's husband at the time of his birth. Since the age of six, William has been raised by Lord John Grey, his legal guardian and husband of Geneva's sister, Isobel Dunsany.

He had one stillborn daughter Faith then one other daughter, Brianna, with Claire. He also had a son, William, with Lady Geneva Dunsany who was raised by John Grey and his aunt Isobel Dunsany. Finally, he raised and adopted Fergus Fraser. He was also briefly married to Laoghaire MacKenzie who had two daughters from a previous marriage and to whom he played a father figure.
