To me, when Jamie prayed for Claire in Gaelic while she slept (before Culloden) was definitely one of the most romantic things to happen on the show. It was such a beautiful prayer honestly the sweetest thing ever 🥺😭💗

That one particularly appeals to us older women who may have lost some of their youthful good looks, who are far from “retired” from the passionate romantic thoughts and urges of our youths. Even as mature older women who have even more enhanced passionate and uninhibited desires as we age, we are still in the mood for our own Jamies anytime, be they younger adult age “toy boys” who can appreciate an older, experienced woman (who “ken what to do” in the boudoir) or older men who are seasoned to perfection who don’t limit their romantic desires to young women in their 20s and “dinna mind” experimenting with being with partners of many ages.

I loved the scene in the stable after an argument, they made passionate love and the times in other scenes, when they exchanged looks that conveyed how much they wanted each other "right now" without dialogue. Terrific acting. I am obsessed with the series & especially Jamie.

Don't forget season 5 after he's rescued her. He's standing stiff and straight, armed and on guard while Clair has been washing in the creek. Her wounds are still bruised and seeping, but she's clean and wearing his plaid as she's done so many times over the years, and he's standing vigilant, ready to kill to protect her no matter what. I imagine it would take real angels with flaming swords to get between him and her. Giving your lady roses is romantic, but giving her enemies ruination is even better.

One of my favorite and loveliest moments is when he rescues her from the raging sea, it's beautifully done. She has given in to death, is at peace with it, when he interrupts that process and risks everything - again - to rescue her. His kiss makes it especially romantic, as does the suggestion that God's hand is with them at that moment, as they emerge in the eye of the storm to calm waters. Such devotion and sacrificial love.

I read all these comments to see if anyone else’s heart raced when they were in line to see Gov Lord John in Jamaica. Joking about how they were once like Fergus & Marsali, touching each other in public all the time. Then the just totally locked eyes… it was so palpable. Great acting out one hell of a deep connection.

After the spanking and she was snubbing him, refusing her bed. The night he came in and gave her the fealty oath (did she know how a man just wouldn't do that for a woman in those days?). "Is it not enough Clair? Do ye no want me anymore?" Just breaks my heart!! But she gives in and says she doesn't want to live apart. He says, into her hair, he wants her so much he can't breathe. (Or does he say he loves her so much? It's so quiet I can't tell) "Will you have me Clair?" "Yes, yes I'll have you." That boy comes out of his clothes so fast you'd think they were on fire! LOL

Did anyone notice she called him Sam in that scene. After the question "will you have me and he kisses her " and she says yes SAM. I couldn't believe it. I was taping that show and I replayed it afterwards to see if I'd heard right. I did.

Ok, did just that. Ran right off and played it again. Turned up to max volume. He DOES say I LOVE (not want) you so much I can barely breathe. But she says "Yes, I..... yes I'll have you." The ending s on yes gets dragged into the I, then she starts again to say the full "Yes I'll have you. Makes it sound like a very quiet Sam. But I'll just pretend I didn't hear it right and say I heard what you did. It's more romantic in two worlds, reality and fiction, that way. You try it again turned way up, let us know what you think.

I love the wedding scene but to me it was more about physical attraction then love. I have to go with the scene at Lallybrock, when Jamie tells Claire the reasons why he married her. The romantic words spoken when he tells Claire that each day he wakes up loving her more than he did the day before. Claire reciprocates by telling Jamie that she loves him. Beautiful!

My husband and I have been together 45 years, and I love him more every day. We always kiss each other before we go to sleep and say "I love you." In fact, we say it many times every day. Today is his 70th birthday, just praying we will live a little longer every year. He's my everything. ❤😊

It’s hard to choose one. They are all my favorites, thank you. It was a treat to see them again. Perhaps the one that broke my heart was the night he gave Claire the gift of completion. Not for himself also, just for her only. It was a gift of total love to remember him by, for the future. That lasted twenty years. So I believe that was, in my opinion, the best and most unselfish gift.

I saw that differently. Married to both men still, until she chose one or the other of them, he considered her Frank's wife and he wouldn't cheat into another man's marriage. (In the book it explains that's why he's still a virgin. He wouldn't take the risk of burdening an unwed girl with a babe she couldn't feed and possibly leave his own child to die of neglect, and he wouldn't disrespect another man's marriage by taking a married woman.) Still, he was just self serving enough to want to give her pleasure to remember him by.

In a live TV interview Sam gave great advice to to all males in the show audience and in the fan base that “honesty is the best aphrodisiac” and exhorts men in relationships never to lie to their ladies. You are SO right about that, Sam. Comments like that, even made off the cuff and totally unsolicited, are why women’s hearts in your fan base beat faster for Sam Heughan and his delightful Jamie Fraser character and why we ADORE you so much!!!

Moments like that and when he said goodbye to her by the stones, saying he'll find her even if he has to go through 200 years of purgatory... it just brings you back to why that 'ghost' was longingly staring at Claire in the first episode.

They’re the Best professionals I’ve seen and their work is a Gift. Let’s say thank you and pray for their Real, private Lives to be blessed and full. I pray that Sam finds a true soulmate and loving life companion so he can feel loved and cherished, and have a safe place to thrive. Reba Claire said after Jamie looked at Claire and ask her “how can u love me like this??” And Claire started crying and told Jamie “I will love u anyway I can ALWAYS!!!!!!!!” And proceeded to wrap her arms around him crying even harder when she said “Always!!!!!” Jamie slowly puts his both arms around Claire and doesn’t pull away ! As I sat there crying my eyes out when he reached for her with his arms I knew he was coming out of the “dark”😭😭😭😭

Dee I loved the love scene in the stables when he took Claire’s wedding rings to go gamble and then came back to the stables and Claire said “ur drunk” and he approaches Claire slowly saying “after all is said and done Claire ur still a woman” she slaps him and he grabs her and kisses her and makes love to her !!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 afterwards Jamie gives Claire her rings back puts them back on her fingers saying these rings will never leave ur hands again”

I just found this post and it is three years old but enjoyed watching it so much! I’m late in coming into the Outlander universe but not less passionate about it as many fans are still! I loved reading everyone’s comments! And learned a few things too! I just have to say this tho! One thing is bothering me and that is if Sam is as passionate and loving and sexy in real life when he is making love or is he just acting! What is he like for real? We will never know! But if he is not acting and really a great lover then the girlfriend or lover or wife with whom he falls in love is the luckiest person in the whole wide world! I am so jealous! I love it when they walk off together at Brownsville. They are a wee bit drunk and talk about the little girl they found in the Beardsley home. Jamie wanted to give her a child without suffering but she is happy without this and thankful for everyday they have together. It is a sweet playful moment between them and Jamie adds his love and his intelligence (Latin or Greek alphabet?) to his known humour. Claire is all love and happiness with him on the Ridge.

I also like the scene where she's drunk on the turtle soup. In the book she tells him that his uncle told her someone is not drunk if they can find their arse with both hands. "That's not YOUR arse you're holding, Sassenach." says Jamie.

I think she would have gladly suffered to have had another child of his back when they were together but by 50 decided she was too old to start over. The one great tragedy of this show is our not getting to see them raise a child together. When you love a man you want their children. Their joy in that was incomplete.

Everytime they are out in the open making love I get so darned stressed because I remember that first time and the Red coats coming up and trying to rape Claire. Speaking of rape is it just me or does anyone else think it is used a bit too often in this show. Black Jack and Claire, then the Red Coats, then Black Jack again, then raped Jamie, then raped Furgus, then Stephen raped Breanna, then Claire gets gang raped. (Did I miss any) I heard that Diana cut back on the love scenes because she was afraid we would get bored. uh nope, no way Diana, BUT I am very very tired of rape scenes. Enough already.

@@donnabittner69 I felt bad for the actor that I couldn't watch it, because I know parts like that are an acting challenge, BUT I am a very sensitive natured person and to see someone in physical pain being tortured, nope, couldn't watch that. Jamie took such a beating in this series. It was so often heart breaking. And he is such a good actor, I knew it would be way too traumatic for me and would never get those imagines out of my head.

I love almost everything about Outlander except Claire’s inability to either follow simple instructions or just keep her mouth shut. Seriously, she’s 200 years in the past, even in her own time it’s not like Women’s Lib hit it peak yet. Also, the way she treated Frank, it was horrible! Too many fans are hung up with the fact that Frank looks exactly like Black Jack Randall. (He’s suppose to!) Personally, l think Tobias Menzies is hands down better looking than Sam Heughan. I love those exaggerated laugh lines on Menzies face, he’s so ruggedly handsome! Yes, Claire’s and Jamie’s love making scenes are “steamy” and it’s filmed very well... However, the writers, directors (whomever’s in charge) has Claire moaning entirely too quickly! Who reached their climax after four or five thrusts? It’s happened too many times for me to keep my thoughts to myself. My friends and I got into a huge discussion about just that, it was hysterical!

Agree there are times I do wish Claire wasn’t as much of a busy body as she often can be, BUT it is generally what leads us down another adventure or path lol. As for Frank, I have to disagree. For me, I just didn’t care for his character too much. He was in a tough spot. This wasn’t his that fault his wife disappeared, but the same holds true for her as well. She didn’t willingly disappear and leave him. She travels through time and well, life and love take her by storm! Makes me think of the phrase, I was prepared for everything but you, I.e. Jamie. There love and chemistry took on a life of its own. She didn’t do it to hurt Frank. Then she travels back to her time and what a lasting and powerful impression their love and time had on her. I don’t think she intentionally tried to hurt Frank. She just couldn’t let Jamie go and Frank was hurt but he also punished her for it, repeatedly. Jamie was in another time, his mistress was in present time and in Claire’s presence. Just tragic all the way around for both I’m sure. Brianna solidifies it, once she meets Jamie and sees them together, she instantly gets it too. She let go of her anger and thinking her mom was hurtful to her Dad. Side note, I don’t think the actor was able to get fans to see the characters separately, he needed to bring more warmth and love and passion to Frank and candidly he didn’t. That I think causes the run on between the characters. Many actors play dual roles and you never think of one character as the other, they are separate. Thinking back to Claire and him at the beginning vs once Jamie entered scene I never once thought of Frank. In large part that was due to the portrayals of both characters. I think if Frank were played by Lord John’s portrayer for example it would be a game changer. 💯

When I watch their lovemaking it is so different than what is generally out there. It's not salacious. They have a completely different spirit. They seems very real, almost like we shouldn't be watching. I can tell that they were not going for porn-like titillation but trying to convey a married couple learning to love each other in every way possible. It's so amazingly beautiful.

What transpired afterwards was even better, until the deserting redcoats interrupted them in the middle of his rutting and spoiled this most hot of romantic moments for them. Poor Jamie must be totally frustrated over the years with so much coitus interruptus caused by the constant arrival of unwanted redcoat third parties right in the middle of getting it on with the love of his life.

Claire should say "I don't think so." Another writer says "You both ate too much borscht for lunch...." and so it goes until they have something that sounds really good.
