I have watched all of the episodes in season 7 part 1 several times. I enjoyed watching them immensely. I can quote the dialogue . It pains me to imagine that I have to wait so long for the next episode . I am truly addicted to this series and the lives of the characters. I would love for the episodes to continue. I hope that the previous episodes will continue to be shown during this long break.

The very nature of their return to Scotland was to escort the body of Jamie’s cousin killed in battle …so this could be his funeral they were attending in Scotland so soon after landing .

The cast can still act, it is the writers part that is the issue. The show is filmed in Scotland and UK filming isn't affected by the actors strike as they work under the Equity union instead. They are not allowed to strike. Filming of House of the Dragon is still underway as it is being filmed in England and Wales, despite the show being on HBO. So if the scripts are ready for S8, there is no reason they cannot film it.

I'm glad you mentioned about the promised 16 episodes. It felt more like a swindle or gaslighting, which seems to have become a trending experience these days. The interruption reminded me that TV shows are a business but the whole thing broke my dream like enthusiasm & brought me back to earth. Perhaps they can display a "subject to change" disclaimer before the seasons begin, just in case.

It is the senior Fraser that Jamie and Claire escorted back. Also Ian Sr, passes in the books. From something like tuberculosis I think. Can't remember. I know what happens but will not spoil it all for the series watchers.

I’m not happy about the wait either BUT I know I’ll be even more sad when it’s all over so I’m also okay with waiting lol. I’m currently rewatching from season 1 😅.

The Outlander books covering this era are a brilliant read so can’t wait!

My opinion is that "Outlander" is a cash cow for Starz, so they're gong to drag it out as long as they can.

They completed all the filming in January 2023. The post-production is underway by those who aren't on strike. I hope it will be ready in early 2023. The actors will be unable to do any press for the second half of season 7(If the strike continues)because the majority are SAG.

It'll be 2026 before the series finale. I've unenrolled in Starz and won't reenroll until the show returns in 2024. If I had a choice, I'd never reenroll. Screw them!!!

I’m not sure when they’ll release part 2 but I’m hoping in early winter. I know the scenes for the Revolutionary War in Philadelphia were filmed in Liverpool in early November 2022 so I’m guessing they’ve completed filming for the entire season although they may still be editing the remaining episodes. The funeral is probably Ian senior since Jenny is supposed to go to America after his death. I don’t know that Jamie’s cousin’s funeral will be shown beyond getting shipped to Scotland.

I haven't thought about that. If he actually didnt go through the stones and it was more of a diversion to see if it was actually true and to get Bree alone. I'm curious to see how the tunnel will come into play. That's so exciting.

I agree with you there is no way that Rob Cameron took Jemmy back in time because he isn't a time traveler. He has no connection to the past nor does he have a gem stone for he and Jemmy to travel with. I am wondering if the funeral that Claire, Jamie and Ian attend could be the funeral of Ian Murray Sr. Because I believe someone mentioned before that his health was not good and he was having difficulties managing Lollybroch.

Books might be wonderful, but their characters Jamie and Claire have cut the umbilical cord to become larger than the writer. I wonder if is not only a way to sell her books this pretended wait for the series?

I am really losing my patience with trying to watch Outlander! First, they change from Netflix to Starz. Then they promise 16 episodes of season 7. Then, they change it to a weekly show and have to wait to watch the episodes. THEN...change it from 15 episodes to 7 episodes. This is getting to be to the point where I am losing my interest in the show and am ready to stop and say L'AMOUR! ARIVIDARCHI'! ALSO...GOODBYE!

Little reminder there once was a show called Lost after the writers strike the show was lost. I hope that's not going to be the case this time

Ian senior dies, and Jenny gies back to America hiwever jamie is thought to be lost at sea so ends up marrying Lord John Grey, but Jamie returns. Bree eventually goes through the stones with the 2 children to escape Rob and find Rodger. As they did not know there wqs gking to be a season 8 when 7 finished filming i reckon 7 ends with Bree, Rodger and kids all returning to Frasers ridge. Season 8 will be about how Jamies ghost was in future

2:45, spoiler alert from the books: The funeral is for James Alexander Mackenzie Frazier. Lord John Grey is in his military outfit even though he resigned his commission years earlier because it is Clair and John Grey’s wedding day (my assumption). Jamie did not actually die though. Basically, Clair had full intention of just going back to Frazier’s Ridge when John Grey finds out Clair is going to get arrested by the British and John says it would be his last duty to Jamie to marry Clair to protect her from being arrested. I wonder if the letter the Ian is holding is because they are receiving news of Jamie’s supposed death.

The funeral is that of Ian Murray, Jenny's husband. Jenny will then go to America with Jamie and Claire when they return.

I heard and read that season 8 is already done. My theory is: STARZ network has been offering (since, approximately May 2023) a major discount for new subscribers for 6 months. I think STARZ has influenced or decided to wait for the new season until after the majority of the new subscribers need to re-subscribe to see next episodes of Season 7 (at the earliest in January 2024.) I seriously hope I’m wrong. 😢
