I also hate it when horror games have the character stop running after a while. Come on in real life if you're running for your life your not going to stop running sure it will hurt but you're not going to stop especially with adrenaline flowing through your veins. These games should try and simulate that by losing your health if you run too long or being able to run longer if the enemy's right behind you.
