Oh yeah, this anime is a must-watch. I got into anime around 2000 thanks to Dragonball Z, so Outlaw Star wasn’t my gateway anime, but it was close to that time. I think it’s a gloriously fun show; it’s like the sci-fi serials of old updated into anime form, and you get it all from space combat to magic-wielding wizards. Not my number one anime, but in my top ten, maybe my top five.
😆 I don't know if I'd go as far as saying it's the GOAT but Outlaw Star is awesome and definitely an anime that's been slept on. I always thought the Caster gun was super cool. I've always liked fictional universes that have lost or poorly understood advanced technology. Sort of like how human technology is represented in 40k.
@@thecursingexplorer138 that's tough for me since I'm the kind of person who will never give out a 1 or a 10. And as a weeb in his late 30s I've been routinely watching anime for around 25 years. But if my arm was twisted I'd probably say GetBackers is my personal favorite for nostalgia reasons even though I recognize it's adaptation has some problems compared to the manga (more so near the end) If I was to be more objective while also picking something that isn't super well-known I'd probably say Mushishi even if it's a slow burn. For a movie I'd say Sword of the Stanger or Redline are probably my favorites, that's if I'm excluding Ghibli or Makoto Shinkai stuff that I assume you've watched. Sorry that got a little out of hand lol
