Everything Maggie Oliver says is correct. She nails it, not just about the police, but about all the institutions she mentions. Someone needs to take all of this on board and sort it out, root and branch. There is a huge majority of people who would support it. Nothing has been done to show that the Police, Social Services etc. understand what happened. They don't understand because they weren't bothered about these children, and they weren't bothered about preventing more children being exploited. I can't think of any other case where victims, or anyone working for victims, are repeatedly silenced even after they've had the courage to come forward.

Well said, Maggie. I think it's pretty clear that it comes down to money. Everything went on Covid and the bank account's empty. My local authority has no money and the services it can provide are carried out by an increasingly small number of people who simply can't cope, despite doing their very best. Dominic Raab's comments on the barristers' strike about employing alternative labour, presumably for the same pitiful amount, just shows how bad it's got. Everything the police do is now determined by money - if their accountant tells them they can't fund a certain operation then that's it, it doesn't get done. So it's very clear that the government has no money and, therefore, no clout. Rotherham is a disaster that has become a cost-saving PR exercise. A pox on politicians, whatever their hue.

I think child groomers should have death penalty. They may not have killed the children but they put them on drugs and have taken away their childhood and its a life of slavery. If politicians won't help then the people should band together and gt rid if these gangs from our once beautiful country.
