Thank you. I remember when that airbus commercial came out and I wondered if that was a green screen. Also, thank you for explaining where the term "emirates" comes from and what it means. I always wondered. Honestly. I used to work in the international department of a corporation and names like that stuck out. Of course, I was only a lowly clerk but that gave me all the more time to ponder questions like that. Some of this stuff is just crazy. And, yes, I'm going there. Just imagine how much better the world would be if all these multi-millionaires grew hearts and spent their money improving the world for everyone, not just themselves? If they, for instance, a few of them got together to clean up the oceans of all the recyclable refuse that's currently choking half the species living there. Just a thought. It kind of makes me doubly sick when I see them, instead of making a difference, choosing to do nothing more than stroke their egos instead.

When I was living in Dubai, I just wanted to add that license plates up to 100 are considered to be a part of the royal family. So, it is one of the reasons people pay a lot for less-numbered license plates.

9,000,000 dollars for a license plate? No we're not judging the morality of their spending. We're judging their level of stupidity.

It’s horrible- have been several times and not by choice and it’s painfully expensive. Also the Emirates aren’t too kind to the Pakistanis and and Indian workers. However you are quite correct, it is unbelievably affluent and extreme with regards to money and mega spending.
