Suikoden II is the only game that i finished more than 10x... every interactions, every characters, every town and places and ofc the storytelling was so perfect, i can't find something like this again...
More then 10x I still playing it on tab Play it over and over again The story, music, 108 characters The war, conflict This is my no 1 RPG in consule PS1, PS2, Nintendo
:'( ... Suikoden 2 has touched my heart, even the music makes me weep. I missed the good old days where they have RPGs that arent focus on the visuals but the heart.
I still remember the betrayal and sadness I felt when Jowy joined the enemy... I felt empty and I even needed to stopped playing for days to get over it! Besides,, despite playing Suikoden2 in 1999, I didn't get true ending until I replayed it in 2015
Tried to listen to this while I work. Nope... bad idea. My vision getting blurry, can't see anything lol. I can only think about my childhood playing Suiko II about 18 -17 years ago. I remember I picked it up at the store randomly just because I want a new game to play, not knowing the explosion of feelings that was about to hit me. So glad I picked it up that time.
Putra Archibald well put. I had the same experience. Suikoden and Suikoden 2 are still my favorite games of all time. just listening to this music puts my soul at ease
Got it for the same reason! haha Man, so glad Suikoden showed up in my life. Just a kid lounging in my 90s basement with my best friend Herc a Corgi. Great memeories. Best game ever.
Playing this game when I was younger was a chance to escape from depression and the hardships of life. Now as an older man it is one of the few things which elicits a strong sense of nostalgia for a time long ago and the promise of childhood, that the world will be wonderful and magical. A sense which is lost through time, but it should not be forgotten.
No other Rpg, Book or Movie touched my heart as Suikoden (2) did. This was true storytelling! One of the few things that really deserved to be called "Masterpiece"
Back then when I was playing Suikoden 2, I was ignoring the storyline because I already know the whole story (played it countless time)... Right now I'm playing it again and some stories almost got me teared up... I'm getting old I guess...
When we were kids we focused on the battle and buffing up players more. As we get older, we understand the depth of the story. Betrayal, fear, love, sacrifice and more emotions that we can only relate after we are all grown up.
I feel ya there. Great story. Still one of my top RPG's, maybe its nostalgia but eh. Ive recently in the last year or almost 2, gotten into the Trails and Ys series. Falcom does an amazing job with world building and character arcs. Def a recommend.
Absolute im love with suikoden soundtrack. gets me really emotional . Feels like im there. Never quite understood how this game got 6.7 of 10 by Gamespot. This game is a perfect JRPG to start with .
Yeah! Just watched it on youtube. The big man behind Suikoden 1 & 2 is making it, Yoshitaka Murayama. Thankfully it's outside of Konami which is quite a lame company nowadays (only great for the PES series from my opinion). They said it'll release on 2022 on PC (mainly) then the next-gen consoles. Here's the article. www.gematsu.com/2020/07/suikoden-creators-announce-rpg-eiyuden-chronicle-hundred-heroes-for-ps5-xbox-series-x-switch-and-pc
Sorry for not adding Suikogaiden or Suikoden Tactics . Another mention is Suikoden - requiem that also should have been on the list . Glad you liked it and hope this list can cure the negativity around coronavirus. More Suikoden content to come! Peace!
I remember the first time I bought Suikoden 1 from my local store because FFVII sold out and Suikoden weird cover caught my eye, I fell in love with the series ever since.
I think I'm one of the few here who has a connection with Suikoden 1 rather than 2 lol. So many good memories of first my dad playing it when I was a child as I watched and fell asleep to the music, and now that I'm older any time I play it it makes me nostalgic beyond belief. Probably the only game that will always calm me down. I really need to get around to playing the other ones, I'm just irrationally scared they won't live up to the original in my mind I think. Thank you for the beautiful music!
You are not alone. I also would watch my father play Suikoden 1. I remember he got up to Neclord and at the time struggled to beat him. A few years later I decided to dust it off and actually play through the whole game. The music, the story, the characters, everything about Suikoden 1 was fantastic. People lose sight of that with claims that Suikoden 1's mechanics were not as good as later entries. However, none of that ever mattered to me. A story of a young man wanting to follow his father's path as a great general of the new empire. Events in his life cause him to question that path and he is then faced with the choice of going against that very empire he wanted to be part of. It's a classic story with unique characters. Since that first full playthrough I did I play through the game once or twice a year. I wouldn't trade that time for anything
Good memeories, I passed this game around to a lot of friends, none of them managed to make it past the first screen during the unicorn brigade camp. We barely knew any english. The music and art made it worth it for me. I came back for a second playthrough, after getting educated and loved it even more.
In my opinion, Suikoden I and II have the best stories and music among all RPG games. This is the game I played since I was 10. It gave me so much fun and tears. I missed these good and old times :' )
You know something, I have never played any of the Suikoden games but something tells me that I need to play one of them soon. I am actually thinking of playing Suikoden 2 next year in 2019. Life is short and I don't wanna have regrets.
T_T Simply beautiful. I hope Konami sells the Suikoden title to a willing and capable studio for releases since they're concentrating on mobile games. Suikoden is just rotting in the cellar right now. Suikoden has such a rich, huge and vibrant world that sees it more than capable of standing alone among the myriad of JRPGs. True Runes that weren't introduced yet, the mystery of Jeane, yet-to-appear continents and dimensions waiting for us to explore and YUBER! With the standard and advancement of open-world games right now, I believe it would shine in such a setting. Letting us experience the recruitment of Stars on a different level than in past installments. It would be wonderful to see another developer retaining the politicking and drama-esque dialogue and plot of the series, let us explore more of the Suikoden universe and lore while expanding it with modern open-world and battle mechanics.
That'll just never happen I'm afraid. I've been hoping konami realized what they had in their hands... With the proper direction suikoden could easily be among franchises such as dragon quest or final fantasy. For me, that I played both FF and suikoden as a child there is no doubt... I choose Suikoden as my favourite. There is something about it, I couldn't really say what. It might be the world engulfed in an endless war, lives being lost constantly, characters full of charisma, no good nor bad sides, only different perspectives. It is quite realistic despite the magic and all. Oh damn, I could speak about it for hours. Let's all pray together for a future release that respects its past.
@@IamAcerbus I am excited about it too 😁 Considering the developers' ties to Suikoden. Hopefully it will spur a good reaction from Konami to revive the Suikoden series and make it well, maybe... Hopefully. There is really a vast swathe of mythos and lore still to be explored in the Suikoden universe. But yes, I am still excited and happy about Eiyuden. 😀
Damn so much memories ❤️ Miss the old dayssss. I remember playing suikoden 2 when I was like 9 or 10 yrs old and it's raining outside and with nothing to worry anything, no stress or whatever. Damn this is my favorite game in ps1. I love suikoden series but my favorite is suiko 2. I miss my childhood 😭
Suikoden 3 was the first Suikoden and RPG I ever played. Playing as a kid, I empathized with Hugo. Replayed it in my late teens and I finally understood some more of the deeper themes. "You children who see the world in black and white will soon learn to see the shades of gray." - Nash Latjke
All i can say is i love Miki Higashino for her work (and everyone else). I can just pray, pray, pray and pray again that Konami come to their senses and actually produce really good games again (mainly suikoden please)
Noo!! STOP IT, it would ruin it.. let us suikofan embedded the choices we made in our heart... even it does a small influence over the game.. after all there is a reason why they made the main character a "silent protagonist"

My grandma buying this stuff when i still a kid, damn i miss that shit, playing suikoden over and over just to hear the music, gather all the stars, and crying just for the story when jowy left the group..... Fuck i promise not to cry now.
Brings me back to the old days when I got home from school on a friday night and fired up suikoden 2 and staying up until 12 in the morning. Waking up to a saturday and praying my mother won't decide to drag me along somewhere so I can have the whole day.
I saw Suikoden 1 at Babbags (game store in the USA) and thought this looks cool. When 2 was released I was amazed at the use of the save file from the first game. It was a feeling of both magic and wonder. Something that will never be experienced ever again by video games these days. Sad the creator passed away, but his memory shall forever live on in the Suikoden series.
The multiple playthroughs of Suikoden 1 and 2.....timeless. I remember when i lost my suikoden 2 i was devastated. I was probably 15? 7-8 years later they opened a retro game store in my hometown and you could list a game down to notify you if it came in. It took a whole year before i got a phone call that someone traded in their copy. I legit stopped everything to race to that store and throw $100 dollars at that guy lol. I still have that copy today another 12 years later :)
i dunno if my decision to click this is right or nope.. now i'm tears.. really missed my childhood and suikodes series. i remember Luc is my first crush male character. well.. still like him untul now. but.. really.. suikoden series are the best game ever.. plot, characters, music.. it always touch my heart.. i'm so lucky to know this game.. thank you so much for uploading this :)
I am still waiting for the day I can be happy and pure again. And these songs took me to that moment. When life was simple and peaceful. I miss this kind of game so much. Without a doubt, Suikoden 2 is the best in terms of story, gameplay, music, and setting.
Absolutely love this compilation of relaxing music from the Suikoden series! Perfect for unwinding after a long day or creating a calming atmosphere for studying and drawing. The melodies are so soothing and nostalgic, taking me back to the beautiful world of Suikoden. Thank you for putting together such a wonderful playlist! 🎶💖
Played Suikoden 1-2 for the first time last year. They instantly becase some of my favourite games ever. Likable characters, amazing music, great atmosphere and good story. A little bit easy but love the gameplay anyways. It's just so easy to immerse yourself in those games and feel the story emotionally.
The first Suikoden was my first ever Jrpg and I remember getting stuck at the very beginning and leaving it. When I did eventually come back, I finished the game in one sitting. Suiko 2 was just better, bigger , more, love it to this day. A sequel or a remake would be in order!
Owen Champ yes and I didnt know how to equip weapons and armor that time when I was a kid . Still got to draron though . I remember I used characters with good equipment and stats 😂
Played suikoden 2 for more than 10 times i guessed. Back to old days in 2004/2005. We, in Indonesia had no internet and couldn't find FAQ but from that, i could learn to play it till i got perfect 108 stars
Suikoden 2? The first time i played that game was 1999 or 2000. I remember this game was the 3th game i played on PSX. Final Fantasy VII, Legend of Legaia and Suikoden 2. Man that was the most exciting moment in my life playing video games. At that times i didn't know we must recruit all 108 to have Nanami survived so i remember i've recruited only 80-90ish people and I guess the ending when she died was only one true ending. Only after i decided to play it again mid 2000 and stumble across gamefaqs guide on how to recruit all 108 characters i've got the true ending. What a fond memories :')
Theme of a moonlit night really takes me back. to when times were simple. makes me want to set out on a journey and feel like a kid again. thank you so much for this mix. perfect
Brings back memories.. Bought the suikoden 1 and 2 CDs just because of its cover page of the CD itself. Not knowing that it will gives a lot of lessons and memories during my childhood.
Miki Higashino, thank you very much for make this song for suikoden especialy 1 & 2. I really mean it. I always feel touch by this story and beautiful song.
I can't count how many times I've played Suikoden 2. But if you ask me to play it again, I won't even take a second to think about it. Just give me a console to play with 'cause I no longer have any.😂
I always felt lucky to have been able to play this game and Alundra. It is such a beautiful game. You get so drawn into it, the story, music and characters. I still play it in my mobile. Whenever I hear it's soundtrack I can't help but feel a bit of pinch in my heart for the nostalgia that it gives. I hope they make another game like this. A game that truly is worth remembering.
I remember. When i play too much for suikoden. 100hours. In slowly i read all scene story. For understand all of that. Now. I ... i dont know what to say.. is just memory. We cant repeat it again.. i hope someday. Hv same game like this.
There is this undying love I have for this series. As a kid I did not fully understand a lot but now I have the words. These worlds they crafted, the runes and characters are stellar and nearly timeless. The soundtrack being beautiful, tense, emotional and fitting where they can be. Its a series I would love to have on ps4 as a collection but I got the og versions luckily.
I love it. This helps me sleep... I close my eyes and imagine the vibes, atmosphere and situation when the songs played; I imagine real life. If it's raining, it's even more beautiful. The Halo ODST gave off a similar vibe too. Brilliant. Cheers.
Ah this music bring back memory I was played Suikoden II and then Suikoden. I love the game so much and play it over and over again and got all 108 characters. The story, music, plot and everything was perfect for me especial suikoden II. Love to use the rune like fire, lightning and wind. And I played Suikoden III, IV and V Still waiting for Suikoden VI
This is one of my favorite game PSX and 2 I still remember all of the character of the game. especially suikoden 2. Thank for sharing this with us. It is give memory back... I wish suikoden 6 publish to us...
My son and my daughter's favorite is the " Peaceful Mountain Village" it helps them sleep ...i would even hear them hum that music... But they've actually never played the game🥰
