Finding good matchups on the street can be a difficult task when racers undersell the power under their hoods. This makes it all the more worthwhile when you line up next to a car and hang door to door with one another! This GTR went up against this Mustang for nothing but fun, and the outcome was one of the BEST races we saw all night long. Starting the night young around midnight, this meet up spot turned out to be a gold mine for us catching rides on the Texas Streets! Staying out till 5am, we managed to hop into all kinds of badass cars, including a RWD turbo V6 Integra and a VR4 Galant. Stopping here turned into a solid night of racing!

@@ufi123 I don't think I've ever seen a Galant VR4 in person so I'm not too nostalgic for them, not that they aren't interesting cars. 1G DSMs were everywhere back in the '90s though so those tend to bring me back.

I would love a 1g dsm. I've always built v8's but If i was gonna have a 4 banger turbo car. It would be the dsm. Awd. Same engine as the evo. and they make automatics with them.

I had the opportunity to spend a little time driving a friend's 2G Eclipse GST back when it was only a few years old and that car was an insane barrel of fun. If I were to go turbo 4, it would be something really kinky though because I'm touched in the head and a glutton for punishment. I have a few thoughts...

Street racers have always lied. That's the basis of the entire "sleeper" movement that was pretty popular 15-20 years ago. Now everything is a sleeper in a world where stock Mustang GTs run 11s and the "fast" cars literally shoot fire. The lies have to change with the times! ;)

I use to slam gears in my 4spd 4cyl Pontiac fiero when I was a teenager. felt like a gocart getting on the high way haha. I remember buying the car at 16. I came home and ask my brother. is it fast :) He said. UM no lol crushed me. I didn't get to drive it yet. my father drove it home. worse decision of my life lmao was a fun safe little car. beside being able to burn up in it and the gas tank going up the middle of where I sat with the ashtrays right on top of the tank haha.

@@T8Videography most of the reliability issues stem from two locations: Nickel dick owners who don't understand maintenance on a car making 3x+ stock power, and the fact that unless you spend big bucks on straight cut gearsets, it's hard to keep a trans in these cars. My 6262 car makes probably 550ftlbs and 650whp with the wick turned up, and that's enough to turn the tranmission life into maybe 100 passes. Fatigue life is a bitch, especially with how old and used things are getting, not to mention parts availability drying up.
