The banking firm that owns Southern Water has recorded a £4bn profit. Analysts were expecting profits of A$4.96bn for the year to 31 March 2023, the newspaper reported.7 May 2023😅😅😅
Theyll nationalise it, public fund the infrastructure, and sell it off again. (the prices will go up to fund it and that will make privatised water an option again.) It needs ro be guaranteed public owned for a thousand years.
Just a thought. The gas suppliers sort their leaks quickly and efficiently. The water supplies DON'T. both are utilities, there should be no bonuses paid to water company people until they match the gas suppliers track records.
That's not the issue. The government can technically keep issuing money so long as it goes to the right places. It's not an case of "it's one or the other." Unfortunately, privatised water companies are not the right place because the money ends up in bonus packets of "businessmen" in other countries who are simply out to make a quick buck, so all that money is effectively lost forever.
Top tip I always keep 20 litres of water water just for drinking as an emergency it paid of for me doing this when a pipe near me broke this was about six years ago. 🇬🇧
End privatisation give the people back the power to hold the government accountable the lazy good for nothings stop this looking after the shareholders the bunch of free loaders
No💧water from the tap ? My kitchen's full of mineral💧water bottles None of it's much use though & ' tap water's been dreadful recently I guess they don't call it ol' Blighty for nothing Hallelujah !! Praise The Lord !! Isn't it marvellous ?
1:00 What are lovely East Sussex accent. With all these Migrants to the region from the rest of the uk, no wonder there's a housing crisis with local youngsters struggling to afford homes. And no wonder vital infrastructure like roads and utilities struggles and can't cope.
Despite website saying households would get 30 pounds for every 12 hours without water, they now say individual households won't receive a single penny.
I live in a 3rd world country and we have best tasting spring water, far better than Scotland and abundant water source. Britain has become worse than 3rd world, it has now Tier 2 army, can't even feed its people with affordable gas and fuel prices, rising inflation and now the basic needs....a water. So sad!
This is why the water bill up . We use it the same way as always, 30 years ago. No more, no less. Is British water company sold the business to French someone ?
I’m homeless and I’ve lived three years without water. I have to buy it in small quantities and make it work for everything. I live in the UK. I’m ignored by social services because they are toxically corrupt and riddled, with misandrists in my city, my homelessness was caused by the police.. Whilst it is unfortunate having to deal with bottled water, it’s not impossible to live that way permanently.
All signs suggest the UK is no longer the country it once was. Everything is obsolete, deteriorating and unforgiving 😢. I hope UK law makers can effectively budget for infrastructure upgrade and create a sinking fund for future infrastructure improvement like how Singapore does. Singapore actually charges water more for future projects to ensure sustainable and quality service. The UK government now is a big bonkers. Bongo-bongo just waiting for paycheck and probably side income.
Britain's infrastructure is crumbling and it's just the beginning. From a foreign water company's point of view: why work hard over a long period while yiu can extract huge profits over a short period. Privatisation always had this end game in sight. It was never meant to work. Except for the 1% Our water, utilities, transport, NHS, media, parliament and prime minister. All in the hands of foreign private interests. What could possibly go wrong?
Back in 'their' own countries we are constantly told the natives have to travel miles with a bucket to fetch water from a dirty ditch, they then have the gall to come over to Britain and when there is an event like a burst water main these newcomers start their griping, the most irritating thing is the water rates and all other bills that these 'newcomers' receive will be paid for by the British taxpayers. not to mention they will get water delivered to their doors until the water mains is repared..
Get used to queuing up for bottled water. Incompetent companies and clueless consumers: gotta have that hottub filled, paddling pool brim full, washed white aldi one a week and weekly lawn drenching....
What a load of tosh 1:40 in a difficult area to repair......clearly wasent difficult to install in the first place ...but now jyst difficult to repair....i should think its time to take away private ownership
